Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2025 Edition

Disney has owened them since 1995. They were part of the purchase of ABC & Capcities, which cost Disney $19 billion.
Disney has actually owned A+E Global Media since 2009, when the latter acquired Lifetime Entertainment Services, which came with Disney’s purchase of Capital Cities/ABC in 1995.
Then what was the point of adding A+E content onto Disney+? I thought that would’ve proved that Disney still cared for the A+E channels.

History channel used to be good when they had documentaries rather than weird programming about Aliens or shows about conspiracies like whether Hitler really died 🙄
Good riddance
I used to watch A&E and the History Channel a lot back when we had cable. When they added "Ice Truckers" to the programming line up, it was time to pull the plug.

I've always wondered what the draw is of ride POV videos. I wouldn't want to spoil the personal discovery of a new ride. And then once I've been, I've seen it. But I suppose I'm in the minority!
One of my granddaughters has paralyzing fear about new experiences. Ride through videos have helped her enjoy Silver Dollar City this summer for the first time.

Normally, I don't care about them. I did have to watch Steel Vengeance's to figure out what the heck happened after I rode it. The elements come so quickly I could not keep track of them on the ride. My daughter asked me to describe it after I rode: "The first half was amazing, the second half was intense, and the third half was bananas."

Makes me glad! I wish MK would have had this kind of attention during its 50th, with a ceremony and all. (But I think Chapek was scared of getting booed)

Also, D'Amaro keeps appearing with Iger in things. Now, this ceremony makes sense, he's Parks Chairman! But I can't help but wonder if he's already been chosen to succeed Iger and they're trying to get him a lot of media exposure in the next couple of years before he takes the reins... Who knows, though!
