Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

WDWNT posted clips of the new Country Bear show and this even surprised me but...it's actually not that bad? One of the songs really doesn't work for me (if you've seen the clips, you can probably guess which one) but overall I don't hate it. I wouldn't call this amazing though but I did expect this to turn out WAAY worse.

I agree. I was prepared to hate this but actually thought it was cute. I still prefer the not so PC humor of the old version but am pleasantly surprised how this turned out. I loved Big Al teasing Blood on the Saddle before his song. I'd rather they just left it in, but we all know that was never going to happen, so at least we got a wink and a nod to the past.

I heard that workers at Disneyland are prepared to go on strike if they don't get what they want. I'm worried it will negatively affect the plans for DL's 70th if a strike occurs and for how long.
Interesting concern. I'm sure the people currently planning the events for the 70th are more of the administrative/creative organization. I'm not sure just what union organizes them as opposed to the front line workers.

Do they compare this against ticket prices due to the inflation / higher movie ticket costs or is it just a straight comparison of revenue?
It is based on total revenue comparison.

Don't know how to determine international tickets sold but (as of y'day) domestically ticket sales for Inside Out 2 lag Incredibles 2 by about 16m.

Inside Out 2 needs to hit just over $720m in domestic box office to equal Incredibles 2 ticket sales. As of y'day Inside Out 2 was at $548m.

Yeah, I don't need you teasing all of us with a long dead, much beloved attraction as the name of your expo where we hope to hear great things about what's coming to the parks.
Donning my tin foil hat here - Every park's icon is represented with the possible exception of Epcot. It depends on whether or not you interpret the big orange "sun" in the middle to be Spaceship Earth or just a sun. So - either they've made Epcot the focal point of this graphic or left it out entirely but named the whole thing Horizons??? I am intrigued! Which of course is what they were going for :goodvibes.

I think if we are getting mad at the names of panels maybe some grass touching is in order. I know it's hot outside but surely. lol.
I'm normally not that grouchy about what Disney does or doesn't do but I get very tired of them trading on nostalgia for attractions they decided to destroy at Epcot. It's my same issue with putting anything with the Dreamfinder out for consumption. If you think people have a clamouring for that character, there's a fix for that which would inject some much needed life and enjoyment out of an attraction.

Or maybe it has nothing at all to do with a pavilion that was torn down ~25 years ago, and they are just using the term to mean "what's coming in the future that you can't quite see yet?" You know, its plain and ordinary meaning.

After all, the marketing person who named the panel may well have been in middle school on its last operating day.

You’re no fun!

(And I could have quite done without your pointing out the age of the marketing personnel. Made me feel much older!)

But you’re probably right.
