Something that takes you around the room on carousel horses would've been more interesting and fit with both movies.

What kind of attraction could you do tied in with the Step In Time dance? One of the better scenes in that movie, imo.

Something like the dancing cars in DCA would have been nice I think, there are so many fun songs in Mary Poppins.

Fwiw the concept art was always themed to Returns and the words flat ride were being tossed around
The photo ops teasing it at Epcot Experience had the balloon motif so I honestly thought it would be a flicks flyers/emotional whirlwind style ride

I can hear the complains about how simple it is, how they wasted the space, "it has nothing to do with EPCOT and it's values", "not another IP ride", all the hype they created for it and it's just teacups. I honestly prefer they use the space for something better worth the hype tbh. But that's just me.

Yeah, we'd hear all that on the DIS, but the line for it would be a steady hour-long.

Mary Poppins was going to get the “nothing to do with EPCOT” and “just another IP ride” regardless of what they put in. Get those with Guardians as it is.

We were at HS on Sunday night and RotR wait time was 40 minutes during the last hour or two. Not bad at all, and likely closer to 25 minutes (in which half of that is just walking the queue).

eta- Mil Falcon actually had a longer waittime

We closed out MK on Saturday and space mountain said it had a 45 minute line at 10 minutes to closing and it was literally walk on. I think they bump up the times so people won’t get in line at the end of the night. My son’s girlfriend lost her hat on people mover earlier in the day and they said to come back at the end of the night when they walk the track and they will get it back to her. We were literally the last people in tomorrow land and the tomorrow land crew were trying to get us to go wait on mainstreet, when a people mover cast member came and said they located the hat and it would be a few more minutes, so they let us wait in tomorrow land. As we were leaving and headed towards Main Street all the photopass photographers were still stationed so we got amazing photos in front of the castle with no one in the background!! Such a fun memory too.

Disney has taken another small step toward completing the center of EPCOT by opening a new walkway between World Celebration and World Nature.

The walkway runs alongside Journey of Water Inspired by Moana, and gives guests a quick route from Spaceship Earth to the Living Seas area.

They may have MORE walls down, but I doubt it will be all of them. They will still be working on Communicore Hall for sure. I don't know when Moana is supposed to be accessible.

“All the hype they created”? I don’t remember much hype from Disney. A short mention at D23 and another one in the Epcot Experience. Most of the hype came from wild speculation on the internet. Several posters besides me were saying don’t get your hopes up; it would probably be a walkthrough/meet and greet like Belle’s at MK or a flat ride.

I would think they’d have it done by October so it’s open for the beginning of the 100th celebration.
