Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2023 Edition

“All the hype they created”? I don’t remember much hype from Disney. A short mention at D23 and another one in the Epcot Experience. Most of the hype came from wild speculation on the internet. Several posters besides me were saying don’t get your hopes up; it would probably be a walkthrough/meet and greet like Belle’s at MK or a flat ride.
I agree, I always thought it was just going to be a Carousel,

Well here’s to hoping a shareholder asks Bob about the possible attraction at the annual meeting on April 3.

Last year Chapek only answered that it was on hold as well as the Avengers Quinjet in Disneyland.

We all know what happened to the Quinjet 😂 Has there been any news about the Multiverse attraction yet or will that start to be built once San Fransokyo is done??

That depends. Was this going to replace something in that area or be a completely new add?

I believe that the new facades would have been built facing the garden area. I don't know if it would have impacted any existing areas much other than perhaps the queue spilling out into it.

Just want to give credit to the Luke from ReviewTyme for stumbling on the concept art as a lot of Disney blogs are forgetting too :D
I think this would have been a nice add to EPCOT if it were done right. Being indoor and creating projected walls that interact or move "with you" on the attraction could have been neat. I always like the indoor/outdoor effects like Pirates, and the Mexico Pavilion. Of course this concept could have been more vomit inducing than Cosmic Rewind!

I just saw an influencer post there is no wiggle room on the VQ for Tron, I get the idea that they don’t want people saving it for a night ride, and I’m all for this. But I’m wondering/interested to see how this pans out in the long term.

With VQ you don’t get to pick when it’s called what if your on another ride and it gets stuck, or you’re at lunch? I will be surprised if they don’t at a minimum widen the window to 2 hours from an hour…

Thoughts?

A version of Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters with carousel horses would have been so cool.

To have them load/start in a ring under a carousel awning and then spin off to go dance…

That would be such a cool ride - you’d be able to relive one of the most iconic and magical scenes of Mary Poppins.

Something would be better than nothing, but I’m really not sad about the teacups not coming to fruition. It’s just really lame. I honestly would have rather had a walkthrough of the Banks home or something.

I do like that idea, however there is the concern around ride restraints. I don't know that they could perform the motion needed without some type of seat with restraint. Maybe they could figure it out.

I'm not surprised they're being strict since people that know the ride is significantly better at night but if they continue to be strict I could see some people choosing not to do ADRs on their MK day in case their VQ group gets called during the meal. I didn't do any ADRs on my HS day last year so my stacking method for Genie+ could work (not that I cared since I don't think any of the places at HS are worth it).

I would think/hope that if you’re at an ADR that causes you to miss your window, and can produce proof of it (like a receipt that shows you paid at a particular time) that guest services would adjust your VQ time. Or let you stop by a blue umbrella before your ADR and get a slight adjustment to make the timing work. But just blowing off your VQ time and showing up when you please should not be allowed. Maybe allow a slightly wider grace window for $ILL, since that’s paid, but not “I bought a 9am time slot, but I showed up at 9pm” kind of thing.

100% agree, I always try to be with in my window, I don’t event like trying to use the 15 minute grace period. But VQ is differently a bit more unpredictable, I think increasing the window to say 2 hours would solve the problem. I feel like coming late even for guardians makes the VQ wait much longer later in the day.

I know a man with a wooden leg named Smith...

Me too :rotfl2:

I would definitely try the blue umbrellas if this happened. Talking to them as soon as your VQ comes up or looks like it will conflict would be a good idea.
