Pirate Rooms Discontinued at Caribbean Beach Resort

Disney has announced that Pirate Rooms are discontinued at Caribbean Beach Resort. This includes the Standard View and Water View Rooms.

Make sense. When the skyliner wasn't built yet, these were undesirable rooms. They only themed them to Pirates to get people to book them.

Now that the skyliner is up, these are in a prime location. Now it seems that these are priced too cheap. Maybe they'll update all of Trinidad into something else. A DVC?

Minnie Van Presence Resumes at EPCOT Ahead of Late June Return

Minnie Van once again has a staging and pickup area at EPCOT ahead of the full return of the service later this month. A sign has been set up at the Minnie Van pickup area and vehicle were seen cycling this afternoon as testing continues. The Minnie Van pickup and drop off area at EPCOT is at the bus loop in the corner closest walking distance to EPCOT. When requesting a Minnie Van through the Lyft app, guests will be shown where to go to be picked up.

I had a pirate room for last marathon weekend. It was in an awesome location. Far from the main lobby, sure, but right across the bridge from the skyliner.

I wonder if they can sell them as preferred or "skyliner preferred."

Slacker. My kid has an internship this summer, but he comes home every Tuesday and spends the night so we can watch Kenobi at 5:00am and he can still get ready and make it to work. I raised him right. 😉
DH gets off work at 5AM and makes sure to hurry up so he can watch Kenobi before going to bed on Wednesday mornings.

Aren't the pirate rooms notoriously small though? It seems like unless they did a complete interior refurb that these rooms would be far too small (if my memory is right) to sell as DVC

I believe the rooms are the same size but the pirate beds are double beds.

I hope it’s true b/c I don’t have time to do all that nonsense in the mornings so if it frees up real time availability like refresh worked for the old system, then it should be better.

Ugh. It’s the opposite for us, the stacking is what makes buying it worth the money. We tend to be late risers and lounge around the pool all morning, and we rarely hit a park before maybe 1pm or later even. I just stack LLs all morning, and then we do a whirlwind run from ride to ride for a few hours, before heading back to the pool or a different park. No stacking would mean I might not bother with G+ at all, unless I knew there would still be lots of availability once we got to the park.

In true Disney fashion, they've managed to piss off both sides and make Genie+ equally worthless for park openers and closers.

I'm interested in seeing how this will play out in Paris (as in whether people will buy it or if it will sell out). Paris was the first to get a Lightning Lane type system so if this is successful there's a chance this could potentially come to the US parks.
Unlikely that is sells out. 90€ is for 1 time on each available attraction (12 attractions across the 2 parks, including Autopia and Orbitron) on WEEKDAYS. The same pass is 140€ on weekends. That is per person. Per day.

No way it sells out. I don’t know anybody who would pay that much (except those who book Disney hotel suites maybe).

I didn't know it was almost $150 USD on weekends. That's a little nuts. I'm still interested in seeing the reactions to this in Disneyland Paris regardless.

It’s more having to be up to do all the stacking. We go late too but also wake up late.

OSHA Fines Walt Disney World Over $12,000 After Cast Member Injured at Laundry Facility

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has fined Walt Disney World $12,431 after a Cast Member was injured while working at a laundry facility on-site, according to a report obtained by Florida Politics.

The Cast Member was assisting others in unjamming a conveyor belt. The machine’s rollers were high up, so the Cast Member climbed on a cabinet to move the belt manually. It was still energized and began moving on its own, pulling the Cast Member’s arms between the tension roller and the belt. Another Cast Member used an emergency stop to turn off the machine but both of the Cast Member’s arms were broken in the incident.

OSHA cited the energized belt, missing tension roller guards, and a lack of official procedures for clearing jams in their report. They initially fined Disney more than $22,000 but reached a settlement agreement.
