Oof! ... Feel bad for the incoming folks taking over ...

Lin-Manuel Miranda Claims Imagineers Are Currently Developing an Encanto Attraction for Disney Parks

Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote the original songs of “Encanto,” says Imagineers are developing an attraction based on the wildly successful film.
Miranda told Insider on the red carpet of the Hispanic Federation’s annual gala that he wants to see a ride before a sequel or show. He doesn’t know any details about the potential ride but said, “The Imagineers are on it.”

“I don’t know what they do or where they live,” he said, “but I know they’re on it.”

Back in February, Miranda said he had pitched the idea of an “Encanto” ride to Disney CEO Bob Chapek. At this time, no “Encanto” attraction has been announced, though it is rumored to take over the former Tarzan’s Treehouse at Disneyland.

Jungle Cruise Boat Breaks Down, Leaves Guests Stuck in Darkness at Magic Kingdom

One of our readers shared their story of a unique ride evacuation and rescue at the World Famous Jungle Cruise in Magic Kingdom. Midway through the pun-filled excursion, a loud sound started coming from the back of the boat.

Their Skipper, Gracie, shut down the boat and calmly alerted the guests this was protocol for any out-of-the-ordinary noise. Shutting down the boat also shut off the lights, and the boat was stopped directly behind the backside of water!

Seriously folks, some of these "news" stories (especially the headlines) are so silly.

Yet Another Housekeeping Cast Member Arrested for Stealing from Guest Rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort

A Disney World housekeeper — who was at least the third employee to be arrested in an ongoing sting at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside — admitted to a string of thefts across several hotels, court documents show.
Julian Bracero Jimenez, 21, of Davenport, was arrested March 30 and charged with employee theft, which is a third-degree felony, according to Orange Circuit Court Records. He pled not guilty this month.

An Orange County Sheriff’s detective was conducting video surveillance on an empty hotel room that was set up with Disney cash as a decoy room. The detective watched Jimenez enter and look around the room, his arrest affidavit said. Jimenez took money out of a backpack that had been left in the room. He stuffed the cash in his pants pocket and left the room when a detective intercepted him.
Seems that Port Orleans Resort had multiple thefts, wonder how long it been going on? Is it typical that all resorts are experiencing this? Looking for a safe resort when visiting Disney World. You would hope spending the amount of money for staying at a Disney Resort, I would not have to worry about such things.

  • Disney Sorcerer Pass: Up to 5 reservations at a time
  • Disney Pirate Pass: Up to 4 reservations at a time
  • Disney Pixie Dust Pass: Up to 3 reservations at a time
According to Disney, EPCOT is listed as a “Bonus Reservation” day on May 1st and May 6th.

I'm not sure PO is any different than other resorts. I suspect what you are reading more of is that they specifically set up a sting operation there and this is the publicity of their results.

I don't think Disney is particularly unsafe in this regards. With the amount of people hired unfortunately things like this will happen. Once they realized there were some bad actors, looks like they took steps to catch them.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Tickets Increase 39% in 2022

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is returning in 2022, but not without a significant price increase.

The last time Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was held was in 2019. Back in 2019, the average price of a ticket to the party was $96.53. In 2022, the average price of a ticket jumps all the way up to $143.17! That is a roughly 39% increase in price when comparing like products.

Now, you might say: “well, it’s been 3 years since the last time there was a party, of course prices will go up!”. You’d be right. However, the price increase between 2016 and 2019 sat at just 12%, nowhere near the nearly 39% increase that Disney is putting on a 2022 ticket.

They are definitely taking advantage of everyone chomping at the bit and excited to have MNSSHP back. I include myself in this group. I'm currently trying to convince my husband we need to attend two parties.
