LiDAR Safety Equipment Rig Installed on All DINOSAUR Ride Vehicles

Next time you ride DINOSAUR at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the ride vehicle may look a little different thanks to new equipment installed on the rear of the ride vehicle. The equipment, which baffled guests during testing, is a LiDAR rig, according to Cast Members that BlogMickey.com spoke with. The LiDAR rig is a safety measure, meant to detect if guests attempt to stand up during the ride – apparently a big enough problem to prompt installing these rigs on every ride vehicle. Previously the test was limited to just a single vehicle but has been rolled out to all vehicles. Here’s a look!

Funnel Cloud Spotted From EPCOT

Local weather media has not reported on the funnel cloud, but we will update this article with more information as it becomes available. It is hard to tell how far away the funnel cloud is, but Magic Kingdom and other areas of Disney World property extend about 3.7 miles north of EPCOT.

That’s great! What other character meals are currently open?

Is Beast meeting at Be Our Guest?
Is it just Cinderella at CRT? Is she meeting or just waving?
No Akershus, 1900 PF?

Open: Garden Grill, Tusker House, Topolino’s Terrace, Chef Mickey’s, Hollywood & Vine, Storybook @ Artist’s Point (is this the only open face character meal? - are Snow White and the Queen currently meeting)?

Storybook is the same M&G as pre-pandemic (went in June) - the food was really good!

No Akershus, 1900 PF yet. I don't know if I just missed it in June, but when we were in Epcot last week, it looked like some signage on Akershus that I didn't remember seeing in a long time. It's clearly not announcing an opening or anything but was colorful enough to catch my eye to make me wonder if maybe an announcement is coming in upcoming months. (Unless I just missed the sign before :))

The 1900 PF is puzzling to me. It's their flagship resort, and a lot of things are still closed there.
