Disney Minnie Van service now from MCO to deluxe hotels guests (not just club level)

Probably cheaper.
I don’t know about that. Our rental cars are more expensive than $500 but we do use them to go to the parks so there is a little bit more value in that as opposed to just to and from the airport we have to get either a large SUV or a minivan to accommodate everybody and all of our stuff so the price goes up at the rental car companies. In addition to that we have to pay for gas and tolls I still will continue to rent a car just because we like to have the freedom of choosing when to go ourselves.

I booked RT a few months ago for next week, you must pay in advance so I hope they do not try to charge the additional fee. When I booked I inquired about how they prefer their tip and the CM told me unlike regular Lyft/ Minnie Van rides, it was to be paid in cash. I wasn’t planning on giving the driver a $50 tip!

Car Services tips are usually around 20% so you should have been planning on $40 each way. Were you unaware of the customary tip level for car services? We’ve had a couple discussions here on it, not everyone knows. Some services require it be paid up front, some say mandatory 20% tip but don’t charge up front, some say nothing but it’s expected.

I despise mandatory tipping but this is making more sense. If it wasn’t a panicked CM making something up and tip is indeed included in the new price the price jump was only $10. Maybe we found out why this went so crazy, maybe Disney expected these CMs to be tipped to industry standards but failed to disclose that so people didn’t and now they’re lumping it into the total because too many people weren’t tipping?

The pp said the tip would be paid in cash. Wouldn't that mean the price went up and a tip is not included?

I'm still confused as why it would be needed to be paid in Cash unless these Minnie Van's aren't being run through the Lyft app where we can easily add tips?

Saw this posted on FB …. Appears the $20 tip is included so price of ride increased $30 on 10/08 … IMG_0146.jpeg

They aren’t run thru Lyft. Different PP reported recent call after price increase now includes tip.

Can we please start calling mandatory tips “service fees” instead?
There is no Mandatory tip for this service. So far we only have antidotal information that a CM provided over the phone to a Guest. As I have seen the information in the thread it was an attempt to explain the $50 price increase with $$20 being the tip for the CM.

I am waiting for a confirmation from a recent Guest that takes the actual service since the price increase to share their experience.

As was mentioned by @gottalovepluto commented these scheduled Airport transfers are not run via the Lyft platform so there is no way to add a tip within the Lyft App.
