Disney Magic Kingdoms

As a non-Kingdom Passer, I currently sit at 28/96, with zero pins in Merida, Jasmine, and Rapunzel. Pretty curious to see how this will play out over the course of the season, but based on what I am seeing, I'm pretty much expecting I won't be getting the orange bird. I otherwise have every character in the game other than prior Kingdom Pass-exclusive characters that haven't been released in other ways yet. A couple of years ago, I might have cared, but I just don't anymore, and mostly only continue to play since I have from the beginning. But, still interested to see if this will be the first 'event' I am unable to finish.

Also a non-Kingdom passer, but I only have 21/96. At least 5 collections have zero pins and all but 2 pins are common (and those two are uncommon). Sooo many duplicates. No real thought that I'd get the Bird, so just taking what comes on that.

Interesting news from my kingdom - I'm currently opening the land plot so that I can get to Cars Land. Been saving and saving to get the $8M needed for that and just got it an hour ago. Now down to only 10K magic, but it will be fine. Meeko berries are NOT dropping, so I will have plenty of time to build my magic back up.

On the TC - there were 2 common characters in my 15K chest, so my goal for this TC is to get both of them and two of the LC prizes in the chapters. Will definitely get both characters - the second LC, well, we will see. Only had one of the three featured characters and that one is in the third chapter. All will depend on cocoa drops.

And still need like 7 ears to welcome Figment, but getting closer.

I only just noticed, but I have two past Kingdom Pass attractions available to buy for 400 gems each.

I've been enjoying the free-pin chest-a-day, although I honestly haven't bothered keeping track of what I have so far, considering there really isn't anything to be done about it at this time.

Has anyone else been experiencing a slow down in Gantu collection, particularly for his ear hats? One attraction has a chance of spawning the token, but it needs to be at level 3, and for whatever reason, the idiot interns haven't put the tokens into Merlin's shop yet... they're only available in random bronze chests. Whatever these morons are doing to forcibly slow down the game is clearly working.

I haven't been focusing on Gantu. I have been trying to get Reuben to Level 10. Then I will shift my focus back to Gantu. But I agree that Gantu's token drops are horrible. Right now, the characters that are the most difficult for me to get tokens on are Gantu, Matangi, Edna Mode and Buck Wild. Matangi is the only character (in this group) that has tokens in the shop. I only need 3 more ear hat tokens for Buck and then I can level to 10 and put him away.

It seems recently there are conflicts with token collection between multiple character sets. Like Lady and the Tramp collecting for both Embarassment and Gantu. Not to mention the 12 or 16-hour tasks for Edna tokens that rarely drop.

Because of how much they have slowed down collection of tokens, I find I am putting many characters away that need to collect tokens at each new event in order to keep within the 100 characters allowed in the kingdom. As a player since nearly the beginning, it is getting worse with each new event. I don’t see how newer players are even playing the game.

Same. I just was reviewing some of the recent comments on the DMK ******* channels. There are similar discussions about the number of characters, character limit, reasons why there were limits, etc. IMO they could resolve a lot of these issues by doing one of two things. Either increase the drop rate or stop making a lot of these longer token collections be legendary, epic or rare. When they changed the whole happiness thing is when things really got screwed up. The drop rates slowed down.

At some point, they'll be forced to admit that the whole "any more than 100 active characters on the game board at once will cause players' older phones to explode" line was a lie. I remember when they introduced 12-hour tokens, and then the occasional 24-hour, but this new 16-hour bit is further just adding to the slump. That and the fact that character limits has also forced all of the unnecessary token overlapping. None of this has anything to do with game performance, and is solely about slowing down how often they need to introduce new content to keep players busy. 🤷‍♂️

And this is exactly where their strategy is starting to make me not want to pay to play anymore. I do buy the season passes. As such, I am drowning in characters that are endlessly leveling up. I was so close to not buying the pass this time until I saw Orange Bird pop up. Orange Bird makes me weak…I have no other defense there. However, why the heck am I going to pay yet again for another season that has me drowning even worse in these characters and endless requirements? I must enjoy torturing myself at this point

While I definitely wish characters were easier to level up, the more characters the better. I’d rather have too much to do than not enough to keep me engaged.

ETA: I think that the fact that I have been feeling especially unwell for the past month is impacting my joy in the game. It's just a slog right now.

Original post: For me, its feeling like a lot of work right now (even though I have been playing close to the beginning... I recall it was the first Mulan event, so January 2017). I can't even imagine if I had to start over like you have! Cheers to you. Is there anything you like more about going through it with so many events behind you, which seems like a disadvantage? Or do you get lucky with enough chests to build on characters in an impactful way?

And, I finally put Santa away! Woo hoo! (To be clear, my Christmas decorations came down in January. I speak exclusively of NMBC)

I've been away from the computer for a week or so...but not away from the game. :D :D

Welcomed Smee via the elixirs in the shop. Jaq and Gus are maxed and put away. Halfway to the end of the pins and Orange Bird.

I am maxed out on characters out, requiring me to rotate. (As a very long time player, I find this ridiculous). On top of that, there are way too many 12 hour tasks. I am so annoyed.

Tower Challenge Update: I have reached my initial goals for this TC. I got both characters in the 15K chests that I had available and 2 LC (getting the last 101 Dalmations attraction that I needed just now, although I still need 4 characters out of those chests). Now I also have enough cocoa to get the rare pin chest at the end of chapter 3, so that is fun.

Pins are slow go - so many repeats, even when still so many to get (and so many common ones left to get, etc.).

I still need 6 ears for Figment. But getting really close to having enough elixer to welcome Mrs. Jumbo. And Meeko's tokens are very slow to drop to welcome him.

Still trying to figure out what I will buy with gems for the Dreamland Quest...

I play other games that have a similar Pin type of collection. My experience with this game's version of the Pin Event is actually no different than the other games. What I do appreciate here though is that you have various opportunities/attempts to get pins at different levels. Yes, they cost you gems or $ to try and get missing pins. But at least you have that choice unlike most of the other games I play. I have used some gems and I finally was able to get some of the Rapunzel pins.

Well, I find that I can only get to the 55K chest during these events without spending gems, and that chest has nothing in it for me in my main game. So, I was only able to get the Soul Costume and the runner-up pin chest. Even the pin chest had a duplicate in it, unfortunately. I did manage to get Honeymaren in my casual game, so that was kind of nice.
