We are re-doing our laundry room/entry area. The back door is what we use all the time, has our coats and shoes. My husband doesnt care what I do and I wanted to do Disney, anyone have any ideas? Thought about painting red and drawing black little Mickey heads on the wall.

Thanks!

We redid our upstairs hall bath..it is Mickified:goodvibes
I painted the bottom half of the walls with red paint and the top with yellow paint and put a 5 or 6 inch black painted border in the middle. We also bought the Mickey shower curtain and accessories (which I know dont apply to the laundry room) but Im mainly suggesting a painting scheme. My laundry room doesnt have drywall on all sides (so its not painted) but we do have mickey curtains in there that my mom made.

I like the paint idea! I have a large shelf in there, so i was thinking to put all my disney stuff on the shelf and on the wall and I have 1 window, so I can do a curtain and maybe a valance on the door, thanks!

It seems like red with black Mickey heads would be awfully dark in a laundry room (or anywhere for that matter). What about doing a more modern, subdued take on it, by painting the walls a lighter, more normal color (light robin's egg blue?) and painting white Mickey heads...or painting Mickey heads in one or two shades darker than the selected wall color?

I re-did my bathroom in a blue, black and white color scheme, with Mickey heads. The walls were already blue (it was a beach themed bath before). I traced Mickey head shapes from Home Depot onto felt, cut and sewed them onto a store bought valance and shower curtain. Added pretty ribbon, too. Traced those same mickey heads onto scrapbook paper to make wall art. It cost me about $50 and I think it turned out great!

Just thought I would show you what I did for a subtle Mickey theme.
Here is a pic of the window valance, too.

Very nice bathroom, it looks great! I love the kitchen, too, although my husband would never go for the kitchen, he cooks alot and he may stop if we did it over in Mickey! I like the border you have in it, do you remember where you got it?

Thanks for the pics!

I changed my laundry room to a "Mickey Mouse" theme several years ago. We painted the walls BRIGHT yellow, trim in black and cabinet and closet doors were white. We did the floor with black and white linoleum tiles. We also got mickey mouse door knobs and a mickey paper towel holder. The rest of our house is very neutral and I thought what the heck , I am going with a bright color in the laundry room.

It made me happy to walk in there, but after a couple of years I couldn't take it anymore. It just didn't flow with the rest of the house.

We changed the walls to light grey and the floor a neutral grey. Still have the mickey door knobs in there though!

OMG I'm in LOVE with this!!!! Our hall bath is similarly colored and I wondered how it would look if I did a little "Mickey theme" in there. I actually like this a lot so I may be using some of your ideas here! :) I've got some Disney Princess stuff in there and some Nemo things as well, may just have to add the Mickey theme. :)

Edited because I forgot to respond to the OP. :) I think a Mickey laundry room would be cute, I'd probably go with the lighter colors tho to make the room brighter and feel bigger. :)

LOVE the kitchen & bathroom Disney rooms!!!

I think a yellow room or possibly red bottom with border and yellow on top is nice. A whole red room/area can be a bit much. It does look nice in bigger spaces, but Disney "red" is RED.

There are tons of things to add to the room.....pictures, shelves, hooks, clock, etc.
Good luck and please post pics when done.

We did Disney Babies theme for my daughter's room when she was born. I'm sure you don't want to do baby theme but including picture so you can see the red and yellow paint theme. We seperated it with white molding and placed Disney border above the molding.

I love the Mickey bathroom! I had bought all the Mickey stuff that Target has for the kids' bathroom (they want Mickey), but I wanted an "older" look since it is also our guest bath. I've also been struggling as to what color to paint it with the Target line. I showed them your pics, and they agreed that it would be a good compromise! So, the Target stuff goes back tomorrow. Thank you for the inspiration!

Your bathroom is adorable. I did my powder room Mickey style. I have the mirror, towel bar, knobs, toilet paper holder. I also put my stuffed MM on the shelves. Any tips on cutting out the home depot MM painit chips so that the edges are even.

Xacto knife. :)

Hoping I'm not hijacking your thread, OP!
I didn't do anything special - just carefully cut them out. I did kind of get my scissors under the mickey head so I had the paint chip part to trace. They aren't exactly perfect, but close enough!

I did a Mickey Mouse laundry room 2 years ago.

I put bead board on the walls and ceiling and painted it white.

I bought simple storage cupboards from Home Depot and painted them red, and added the Mickey Mouse Body Parts drawer pulls to the doors, and to the drawers.

I put black and white checkered ceramic tile on the floor.

I made curtains out of the Mickey Mouse Body Parts fabric and made my own curtain rods. I took a closet pole and cut it to length. I cut out a shape of Mickey's hand and painted it, and used one on each end of the pole. It looks like Mickey is holding up the curtains. I also used the same thing for the laundry clothes rack that I have in there.

I then cut out Mickey's Body Parts from wood and painted them, and added a shaker peg to each one. I have each one hanging on the wall and have a Mickey Mouse Body Parts pot holder dangling from them.

Let me think......

Oh, I built a shelf and painted it black and it sits just above my washer and dryer. It holds my collection of vintage Mickey Mouse toys and such. I also built corner shelves to hold toys as well.

I have a red candy machine like you see in the grocery stores in there as well, but mine holds small stuffed Mickeys.

I found an old ugly pink wood wall cabinet/shelf at the Goodwill and re-painted it in Mickey colors. It holds smaller Mickey treasures.

Finally...I think...I have an old wooden chest that I also re-painted and made a padded top out of the same fabric as my curtains. My collection of mouse ears sets on it.

Just thought of something else...

I got little 4" x 4" picture frames at the Dollar Store. I got Mickey Head paint chips at the Home Depot and framed them with the small frames.

...now I think I'm done...........

Well heck........

With the same fabric as my curtains, I made one of those grocery bag holders, and it hangs on the wall, being held up by a wooden cut out of Mickey's hand. I also used that fabric for making a new ironing board cover.

And.....I have 2 throw rugs that are black and in the shape of Mickey's head.

If the room sounds like a cartoon....it is, actually, but that was the look I was going for. Nobody else in my family does the laundry...I doubt that they even know where the laundry room IS. :)

Since I get stuck in there washing their underwear, I wanted it to be fun.
