Disney Gives Us the Warm Fuzzies - Take Two. TRIP REPORT HAS BEGUN! 1/20 Pg. 92

Happy 2010 Leslie and Jen!!!

I will have to remember that the pretzel rods travel well. ;)

Yeay for Hollywood Brown Derby in two weeks!!! Don't forget to take a picture of the autograph book!
Oh I won't forget. I'm secretly hoping it's turned to Julie Andrews' page again. Eeeee!!

Hooray for your first day in the parks together!! The pretzel rods look right up Piper's alley! You all are going to have so much fun..and as Piper said last night at midnight..now "You're (I'm..she said) going to WDW this year!!"
WOO HOO! I'm going to Disney World this year!!

If you go to Goofy's Candy Co at Downtown Disney to get the pretzel rods, they used to have some pretty good coffee the. I always stock up on the SUPER sour hard candy. I can't believe how quickly it is coming up.:banana::banana::banana:
It is coming quickly. I am so ready though...except still not packed. :rotfl2:

Hey LL - I just wanted to tell you that there's a powder designed for when you work out to help reduce chafing and rashes. Maybe it would help with the rash behind your knee (if it's caused by sweat from the brace and not a reaction to the material.) It's called Monkey Butt Powder.
My mom actually got my brother monkey butt powder a couple of Christmases ago! :rotfl: He loves anything with Monkeys so she put it in his stocking.

Hi Leslie & Jen - I haven't posted in a while but I've definitely been following along!

Your PTR is making me hungry! :confused3

I love your, "in two weeks..." posts - I may borrow that idea for my PTR when we finally make it to April. :hourglass It's such a fun way to pass the last two weeks. :thumbsup2
Borrow away. I like doing this kind of countdown thing, it seems to make the time go by faster for sure.

Oh yes those pretzel rods! Saddly the snack credit is only ONE now, which is a DRAG, but they are still quite yummy! MY boys like those marshmallow dips, and I love the English toffees... I have a photo of pretzel rods from this past summer.. let me look! RE your knee, easy does it, and yes, maybe a powder or something would help... that might be a good idea... re your packing list, I see sneakers. Did I miss your flops or crocs? For when you are just puttering around at the resort, etc... something that gives your feet breathing room... I thought you bought some sandals?

Hey, looks good otherwise, and I love your two week count down!!
I think it's silly that the snack credit is only at one now. Just plain silly! You all have convinced me to put some sandals and other shoes on my packing list! :thumbsup2

Hi LL, and Happy 2010! I've been a very bad Dis friend, but I wanted to tell you I'm going to try to catch up. Your trip is so, so close and I know you and Jen are going to have a super time.:goodvibes

Hurray on the weight loss!:banana:You should be proud of yourself.

Monkey Butt powder!:rotfl2:
You are not a bad DIS friend, this is a really busy time of year that is all. Thanks!

Happy New Year!!!

The pretzels look delicious!

Yay for less than two weeks till Disney :yay::yay::yay::yay:

Love your attraction list for DHS. My nephew and I have been playing Toy Story Mania for Wii. It's a definite must to get your TSM fix in between visits.
Marc & I love Toy Story Mania on the Wii. I've been practicing, I'm going to kick Jen's patootie! :rotfl2:

Check with Brookelizabeth... I think she said she found a way to send FB updates only to a certain group of friends. Or deleting them works too.

---------------

Incredibly jealous of your Brown Derby date! :cloud9: Is that timed with park close so that hopefully you get the empty park experience??
I did check with Brook before she left and she wasn't able to figure it out. I think I'm going to delete them anyways. Let's see how long it takes them to notice. :rotfl2:

Yes, Brown Derby is timed with park closing. I am so excited! :yay:

Happy new year, LL and Marc!

I haven't done the pretzels at Goofy's...just the Mickey head rice krispy treat. It ended up being HUGE and it took me several tries to finish it, but it never got stale or gross.

Yay for two weeks! When I woke up this morning, my first thought was, "I'm going to Disney World next month!"
Your trip will be here before you know it for sure.

I think the treats at Goofys are just too sweet for me, and too much.

Those pretzels look too darn good! DD and I missed the make you own line at Goofy's Candy Shop because there were a lot of people on line! But, I love chocolate covered pretzels!! I think those pretzel rods need to be on my must do list!!
I do love chocolate covered pretzels, especially white chocolate ones. I like that kind of simple treat, the added candy to mine were just way too much for me.

I'm glad that you're flexible....:thumbsup2

....more of a guideline....where have I heard that before...pirate:
:rotfl2:

Your update......

All I saw.....

Brown Derby......mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm;)
Exactly! I am so excited. I was checking out the menus again yesterday just to make sure my food budget is on target and I think I'm most excited for Brown Derby. :cloud9:

I totally agree about HS being easy to get around...
Pretzel rods look yummy....my 17yr old nephew made some last year when I took him for his first trip and I have a picture of him outside Goofy's eating them....he often makes that his profile picture on FB :goodvibes
I would still take another pair of shoes/flip flops....they won't take up much space. I still recommend the montrails...as happydog said they will give your feet a rest and it might feel good to have a different type of shoe on.

Tracy
Aww, that's cute about your nephew. I will bring my montrails, complete with Ruby teeth marks in them. :headache:

We're gonna be in DHS that Friday too!!!!!! :woohoo:
WOO HOO. We really need to exchange cells if you want.

Oh Leslie I think you should definitely talk to your doctor about your knee. Buckling isn't normal! What could it hurt to ask?

I realize it is probably not the same doctor that should should ask about it though...

Pretzel rods...YUM! Although no way I could eat a whole one, yummy as they are.
I agree on the pretzel rods, they are just too much for me at least I think I will call the doctor, hopefully they can squeeze me in this week.

OK...Not so sure these are that different than what you have already-loaded with peanut butter cups and chocolate-...but its the spirit of sharing that counts...:goodvibes

Those pretzels are quite yummy...and there is something just so Willy Wonka fun-ish (We've read Willy Wonka here recently and watched both film versions-so I've got Willy Wonka on the brain...) about putting in your order and watching them make them to your specs...

Oh wow...your trip is really getting close...:yay:
That is a wonderful pretzel rod picture! Thanks for sharing.

I'm reading Fantastic Mr. Fox right now. I just love that book. I love all of Roald Dahl's books. :lovestruc

So you know how we said we were looking forward to egg rolls from Yak N' Yeti counter service? Well, we decided to add the sit down Yak N' Yeti into our itinerary. We did end up taking out Cape May breakfast. I think it's one we want to do in October, so we'll get there. So the tradition of me gorging myself on this delightful beauties shall continue I love this dessert! It's rich and it's sinful and once again it shall be ALL mine!!!

I've never been to Yak N' Yeti so I'm looking forward to it a lot....I've heard they have great light fixtures. ;)

Saturday January 16th:
*Downtown Disney
*Animal Kingdom

Park Hours: 9 – 6PM
*Yak N' Yeti @ 12PM
*Animal Kingdom List O’ Things:
*Meet Thumper
*Festival of the Lion King
*Raffiki’s Planet Watch
*It’s Tough to be a Bug
*Finding Nemo: The Musical

I think at Downtown Disney we are planning on eating breakfast at Wolfgang Puck Express...so excited! Jen has some shopping she wants to get done too. I have an obsession with DTD I have to get there, of course my discounts don't hurt anything so World of Disney is where I like to do most of my souvenir shopping!!!!!

The only headliner we want to hit up at AK is Expedition Everest so if we have to wait or get later fast passes we are okay with that. If I'm not mistaken there is a really good chance we will be at AK later in the evening which means I might be able to coerce Leslie into riding with me in the dark which makes EE so much cooler!!!!

I'm really looking forward to checking out AKL too. I can't wait to see the resort and of course to snag some zebra domes. :rotfl2:

Zebra Domes....hmmmmm...I wonder if those travel well?? If they do I should express mail some to Jackie so she can share them with Chelsea!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Tell me how it is! Please! Can't wait to ride it in the dark! :worship:

If I'm not mistaken my dear MEK you and I have a date on EE at dark in our future!! I'm not forgetting about that!!!!

Are those fried wontons of some kind? They do look yummy!! I also want to try zebra domes, def going to have to track some down the day we're at AK.

Fried wontons, zebra domes, Jiko, and Animal Kingdom! I love this update filled with some of my favorite things! You will enjoy Yak and Yeti, LL!

Great Update! I'm not packed yet, either, so don't feel bad. I might pack next weekend. It's getting so close, but it doesn't feel like it yet. Oh! I'm going to be at Animal Kingdom on the morning of the 16th, too!:woohoo:

I still haven't tried Y&Y despite a fascination with one of their drinks, the Yak Attack. You'll have to tell me what you think.

Can I invite myself to Cape May in October?? :)

Love the Animal Kingdom and the AKL and Jiko and I thought the Y & Y was so fun...so I'm with Jackie, it's all good stuff...:thumbsup2

LL-you must have your camera ready at Y & Y -there are a lot of great light fixtures and a nice variety as well...:goodvibes

Fried Wontons...:cloud9:..before I had them I wasn't too sure...but they are now one of my absolute favorite Dis desserts...they're like Heaven on a Plate...:cloud9:

I think I missed something...but what is Meeting Thumper...?:confused3...Thumper from Bambi? or is Thumper a person?

Yummmm!! Those wontons are on my someday list!

What time does DTD open? I'm just thinking we went there one morning and although I cannot swear by it, I think it was pretty close to opening (it was still cool and uncrowded I can promise that!). We then went to AK and I'm pretty sure we did not make it by noon. Just looking out for your ADR!

We ate breakfast at WPE (get the breakfast pizza...YUM!) but we also wandered quite a bit because we did not have any goals for the day so you might make it if you have a plan!

Happy New Year LL and Jen! I think I'm all caught up with all your updates. You two have been busy lately.

Sorry to hear about your knee troubles. Hopefully it will still be an injury-free trip for you.

Jen- The UP characters were still at Animation when I was there in December. I would suggest getting there early to see them if you don't want a wait. They arrived at 10:30, I got there at 11am and had to wait about 45 minutes to see them!

Sorry to hear about you two dropping Cape May, but hopefully you'll get there in October.

You're going to love Yak and Yeti. My mom still talks about the fried green beans.

Your AK plans look great. Ohhh EE at night sounds like fun! And FOTL is so wonderful.

Less than two weeks!!! :banana::banana::banana::banana:

That dessert looks SO yummy -- I'd eat there just to try those.

EE in the dark is SO much fun. The entire park seems totally different at night, it's amazing. :cloud9:

Oh I'm so glad to hear that!

I'm looking forward to the movie :)

EE in the dark is the BEST! It won't be dark on our next trip during EMH so I am mightily jealous, I really really wish I'd taken pictures....the TOL is amazing from up there!

Those wontons look SO good! I'm bummed Y&Y did so poorly in our voting as I'd have loved to try those.

OOOH Yak and Yeti Wontons! YUM YUM YUM!!! So jealous! I could seriously skip the meal (although it's really yummy- just really filling) and head straight to the wontons and the drinks!

Dude. They have carrot cake cookies at the Writer's Stop? How could I have missed these??? Yet another reason I love the DIS. Learn something new every day. :thumbsup2

I love the treats from Goofy's, and although I love my junky apple, I really enjoy the pretzel rods. It's the combo of salt and sweet that really does it for me.

I never made it to Yak and Yeti on my last trip. I couldn't snag a ressie, so I'll be looking forward to this one for you guys. :thumbsup2

Hey! Congratulations on your weight loss! You were thinking you hadn't lost any, and look you down 2.6 more lbs! That is fantastic. I know it's hard, but try not to worry too much about your trip. :goodvibes

I don't think that could be any smaller!!!:lmao:
Those fried wontons looks delish! I have looked at the Yak's menu and perhaps I need to look closer...:confused3 Although the most intriguing part is the drink that C mentioned.....I think someone once said that it really packs a punch :thumbsup2
I think MEK, Katie and I should have one before we go on EE at night! :rotfl2:

:lmao: :lmao:

I can't believe this.

We'll be in AK Saturday morning most likely, unless we need a second DHS day.

We're spending the rest of the day at AKL.

And we have a Jiko reservation that evening.

So yes, I'll send you my cell # at some point! Though we'll probably run into each other at some point without scheduling it.
