Disney Gives Me the Warm Fuzzies. January 2010 PreTrip Report. Update 11/6 Pg. 79

I love 4.0 I think having your own adventures is a great idea. SO many yummy places to eat. I gotta check out what my ADR day is.....

Hey LL!!! Your 4.0 itinerary looks fabulous!!! I was thinking about Narcoossee's too! Once I learn how to spell it, that is! :rotfl:

Good choices, and yeah, just stroll the Boardwalk, and the BC area, the movie idea sounds very tempting -- would movies be running in January outside? I have never been to Disney in January! Plenty of walk in counter service options all around there if you don't want to sit down for a TS...

I'm not sure about the movies on the beach in January. I guess just to be safe take a blanket in case they do have winter movies and it's chilly! Or check it out on the Beach Club Yacht Club thread...There are some real experts over there!:cutie:

I'm not planning on going back to WDW until 2012, but if I get a bounceback offer in my room..........it might happen!
Oooh, bounceback! I didn't even think of that. :rolleyes1

Yes, it's very important to know when your ADR day is! I'm excited about my open days so I can just go with the flow!

Thanks! I don't know if they'd be having the movies outside or not in January. The more I think about the more I like the idea of not having a lot ADRs planned on my solo days.

I'd love to just go check out Beach/Yacht and Boardwalk. The lobbies always look so impressive in pictures!

I had a chance to talk to Jen about our itinerary earlier this afternoon as she was driving home from Disney World. Nothing like planning your next Disney Trip while driving home from your last one.

There have been lots of changes to the itinerary since I've added on days. I'm almost wondering if I'm adding TOO many days. :confused3 Who knows. I'm just going to go with it for now.

I'm working on my Three Things list inspired by Heidi. Instead of having a huge crazy list of attractions I want to hit up, I'm going to pick the three major things I want to get done that day.

Itinerary 4.0

Saturday January 9th:
*Southwest Flight Arrives @ 10:40AM
* Check in @ Pop
*Choose my own Adventure Day

I do not think I'll be going to a park this day. I'm going to be in Disney for 11 days. I don't think you can get an 11 day Park Ticket so one day has to be park free. It's probably going to kill me not to go into a park but I'll manage. I'm thinking of hitting up Downtown Disney for lunch and then taking the boat over to Port Orleans so I can get my fix in. Maybe even checking out the boardwalk area. :confused3

LL......

It is so easy to get behind on your TR because there is always something happening. I had no idea you were going for 11 days! :woohoo: Woot! That is one long trip. I am so jealous. See - that's why I have to go 2 - 3 X a year. It takes me that long to get my 11 days in!

Hmmmmm....what to do on a non-park day. Seriously - I think you should take a DVC tour. I know, I know - you are not ready to buy yet, but I think the tour is really fun. Here's the best part - they will pick you up at your room, drop you off wherever you need to go, feed you lemonade and cookies before you start, feed you ice cream when you finish, and give you FP's. You could even visit the kiosk after your DTD lunch. They will wisk you right over to SSR.

Nicholas and I did this on the first day of a trip, before we had park tickets, and it brings back special memories for me!

I

Sunday January 10th:
*Animal Kingdom @ Rope Drop
*Break @ Pop
*Narcoossee’s @ 5PM
*Magic Kingdom EMH’s 8-11PM

I'm iffy on Narcoossee's. It looks really good and I'd love to check it out. I'm just worried about eating there solo.

Now I know Denny's fish was a little scary, but I really did like Narcoosee's. The location was perfect and the restaurant is very private. I really don't enjoy dining by myself, but this is one place that I would feel comfortable visiting solo. The staff is very nice. I say....go for it!

I
Wednesday January 13th:
*Hollywood Studios @ Rope Drop
*Break @ Pop
*Animal Kingdom EMH’s 5-8PM

Jen arrives this night...probably around 11PMish. Yayaya!!

Oh AK EMH! :woohoo: LOVE the AK at night! Yeah for Jen arriving. Wait....wasn't Jen just there????? :rotfl:Kidding!

Love all your plans. What a fab trip you have planned!

LOL!! I was and I can't wait to get back!!! :rotfl: I have to make the most of that AP LOL!!!!

LL...I love the itinerary!! We are going to have so much fun I can't wait!!!!! I have to agree with MEK...I think a DVC tour would be a lot of fun and something you could finally find the time to do and get more information on it!

11 Days is a little scary too me for some reason. I wonder if it's TOO long. Ahhh, the life of a troubled DISer.

The DVC tour is a great idea! I'll have to keep that in mind!

I am super excited about the Animal Kingdom EMH's! It's something that I have never done!

Thanks Jen! I think our itinerary is perfect. Lots to do but the flexibility to change it up if we want! :yay:

Question....why the heck do my tickers show two different countdown when they are for the same date!?! My OCD is kicking into overdrive. It's making me bonkers.

So Jen and I narrowed down our ADR Wish List. I am very happy with the way it has turned out. The Wish List has been sent to the Travel Agent. I'm quite proud of myself for letting go!

*Sunday January 10th
Yak N' Yeti - Lunch

*Monday January 11th
Hollywood Brown Derby - Dinner

*Tuesday January 12th
Liberty Tree Tavern - Lunch

*Thursday January 14th
Brown Derby - Dinner

*Friday January 15th
Kona Cafe - Dinner (1st Choice)
The Wave - Dinner (2nd Choice)

*Saturday January 16th
Le Cellier - Dinner

*Sunday January 17th
The Plaza - Dinner

*Monday January 18th
Jiko - Dinner

*Tuesday January 19th
1900 Park Fare - Breakfast

I've made it so I don't have any solo ADRs for arrival day on Saturday and on Wednesday. I think the flexibility will be good. If I feel like a sit down meal then I'll see where I can fit. If not, counter service will be fine.

I also decided to do Brown Derby solo and with Jen. I know I'll be comfortable eating there. I also have so many things that I want to try there that it won't be the same meal twice...unless of course I want a repeat of the first meal. ;)

Of my three solo ADRs, I've been to two of them. Yak N' Yeti is the new one but I'm sure I'll be quite comfortable there....I've seen all the pretty lights they have in the dining area. :rolleyes1

We have two choices for Friday since we will be doing the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Cruise that night and want to eat as close to 5PM as possible so we won't be late.

Here's another mystery picture.

And some warm fuzzies!

Jen: Laughing hysterically at your future during Spaceship Earth, especially when one breaks their arm during a ski accident and a magical robot can fix it, while she never breaks her smile once LOL!

LL: Sitting on a bench on the little side street off of Main Street.

LL - love your ADR list! I hope you get them!

On the ticker question, Iwould guess it's because maybe you put one on at a time and they change dates about 12 hours apart? That would make them always a day off.

My first ticker is a day off because we added a day at the beginning of our trip, but I don't want to change it and have it start way back to the left again! :)

I'm going to guess your lovely light picture is in UK at Epcot?

Love our ADRs!!! We are going to eat some great food!! I'm very excited to try the whole appetizer and dessert way of eating around Disney LOL!!!

Hmmm...I think you will love Yak and Yeti solo...I had a great table and it was very nice and the place is gorgeous!! You will enjoy it, trust me LOL!!! I also think its great you are adding some room for flexibility!! YAY!!!!

Can't wait to see what our TA scores for us on Sunday YAY!!!!

I can't see the picture and I really want to see it!!! Especially if it is the HM I would definitely know LOL!!!

Brown Derby twice???? WOW you love that place huh? Maybe I should try it! I always forget about the Plaza. Maybe I should check out the menu there.

Great ADR list!

And I'm proud of you for letting go :)

Sending your TA some happy ADR booking vibes!

WOOT finally able to see the picture and I KNOW EXACTLY WHERE THAT IS LOL!!!! MUUUAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!

Great ADR list. I wanted to mention that a good place to eat on your own would also be California Grill, Jiko or Flying Fish as all three of them offer bar seating at the open Kitchen. You could watch the chefs and this might make you feel less comfortable beeing on your own. :thumbsup2

And even though I am not the first: I am pretty sure that this picture is from the UK pavillion, the building where the sports store is in. I recognize those chimneys, I am sure they are themed after Hampton Court Palace in London:

and with regard to your warm fuzzies: I will always remember when we were standing in that little side street during our Keys to the Kingdom Tour and watched rope drop occur: empty Main Street went from quaint to buzzling with excitment, full of people with a purpose and a plan!

I think we have very similar palettes when it comes to food. I love your ADR list and especially Brown Derby. My only problem is that I can't justify spending 2 TS on it when I'll only have 4 TS credits for the solo part of my trip......:sad2:

I hope you get all your ADR's! I'm so addicted to the Epcot restaurants I haven't branched out much on my January trip, but since our trip isn't very long I want to get in as much theme park time as we can. One of these years we'll schedule a longer trip (it would have to be in May because both of us teach in college) and see more non-theme park stuff!

Great ADR choices as always!!! I am sure you'll be successful getting these -- or your TA will be successful :goodvibes

Brown Derby is a great choice, and I am glad you are making it to the AKL so you can see the lights!!! Don't forget to walk to both lodge/Villa entrances!!!

Good for you for letting go and letting DU makes your ADRs. I hope you get everything you want, it looks wonderful!

As for the mystery picture, I also think UK...:rolleyes1
