Disney Gives Me the Warm Fuzzies. January 2010 PreTrip Report. Update 11/6 Pg. 79

LL, if you are wanting to do your own ADR's online be prepared to call just in case. When I got up early to do them online it would only let me make a reservation for the first day I was there. I had to write an email to my TA at like 5:15 in the morning and she must have been up because I got an email back from her not to long after the telephone lines opened and she had been able to get me everything I wanted on the days I wanted and within 15 min of the time I wanted.

See...I don't want to deal with that stress. Plus I was reading over on the Restaurant Boards that people are staying up until 2AM to book their ADRs online. :scared1: I don't want that stress!

The online ADR system opens at 6 eastern time. The phone lines open at 7. However my adr day was on a weekend. If it had been on a work day for me I would have just had my TA do them . I just sent her a list of what I wanted and what times I wanted. I also sent her my second choice in case I didn't get in the more popular places.

I'm really not too worried about not getting into places. I mean...I think the most popular ones we want to go for our Le Cellier and 1900 Park Fare. There are enough yummy places though that we can always substitute. :thumbsup2

Ugghhhh! That sounds painful! I will have to do my own ADR's for my next trip since its DVC, but I normally get up at 5am, so maybe I'll just get up a wee bit earlier. I am starting to formulate a list that looks alike like yours! :rotfl:

Well now that I just finished reading your review of Narcoossee's I want to eat there even more! Maybe I can sneak it on the itinerary without Jen noticing. :rotfl2:

I'm taking a January 2010 trip too! (Trip planning thread link in signature)

Tomorrow morning I can make my ADR's, at least for the first day since we're getting there on Jan. 2 and had to do 1 night separate, then a package to take advantage of the special. I'm planning to call and see if they can go ahead and get me me ADR's for Jan. 3-7 because I bet it won't work online since I've got 2 separate confirmation numbers, one for the first night and one for the package.

I'm crossing fingers and toes that we all get the restaurants we want!

I read that too! That is nuts! I made ours online at 6 am and got everything I wanted.

LL, I am sure you will be fine with your ADRs! I think letting the TA doing them is a good idea if you want to practice giving up control. Those people are professionals who book ADRs on a daily basis. They know what they are doing!! :thumbsup2

Then again, I guess I will not be following my own advice! :lmao: Looks like we really face the same planning problems at the moment! But you are lucky that you don't have to deal with that dreaded October 27! :scared1: I am seriously considering taking that day off work in order to get my ADRs done...

I am seriously considering taking that day off work in order to get my ADRs done...
I have done that (gone in late) each time!! I too find it very very stressful!! the 90 day window, anyway... something makes me think that reverting to 180 will help ALOT... not as many people have their act together KWIM? I think there is less competition... I didn't feel as stressed when I could make ADRs earlier than 90 days.

LL --
I bet those people staying up so LATE/EARLY depending on your time zone!! Are on the west coast... b/c our 6am is their 3am... so consider that a benefit!! I was able to start booking online at about 5:40 each time... so that was a big benefit. AND this last trip I had less than 30 days to make ADRs and we managed to get a few - this with Free dining??!! There has been lots of conversation that people are making many more reservations, and not cancelling them, so because of this restaurants are able to seat people who walk up (if they can be flexible) and the park guest services have had availability... so ... if you want to let someone else do it, I would. :thumbsup2I bet it will work out in your favor.

You look GREAT! very noticeable in the face!

As for the ADR's, ugh, I don't know. I agree with HappyDog on the time difference though, those of us out in the west get killed with the time difference on this.

I am so sorry the fill appointment was such a nightmare but WTG on the extra 5 pounds! You are doing great and so consistent, that is just fabulous.

Hey, thanks for joining in! I went over and checked out your thread. :thumbsup2

I don't even want to get up at 6AM to do it.

I would but the closest store to me is 4 hours away. :sad2:
Oh, that stinks!

I think I am going to let the TA do them. I am VERY happy that I don't have to deal with that crazy October 27 day. EEEK! :scared1:

I think I agree with you...that 180 days won't be as competitive.

I bet a lot more people make online ADRs since it's so easy to do when you are on the computer and then they don't cancel them. I'll have to keep that in mine with Jen and I. Maybe if we aren't feeling what we are planned we will have more options with walk ups!

Thank you. I can't even imagine doing ADRs on the west coast, the time difference must be a killer.

I had a chance to talk to Jen about our itinerary earlier this afternoon as she was driving home from Disney World. Nothing like planning your next Disney Trip while driving home from your last one.

There have been lots of changes to the itinerary since I've added on days. I'm almost wondering if I'm adding TOO many days. :confused3 Who knows. I'm just going to go with it for now.

I'm working on my Three Things list inspired by Heidi. Instead of having a huge crazy list of attractions I want to hit up, I'm going to pick the three major things I want to get done that day.

Itinerary 4.0

Saturday January 9th:
*Southwest Flight Arrives @ 10:40AM
* Check in @ Pop
*Choose my own Adventure Day

I do not think I'll be going to a park this day. I'm going to be in Disney for 11 days. I don't think you can get an 11 day Park Ticket so one day has to be park free. It's probably going to kill me not to go into a park but I'll manage. I'm thinking of hitting up Downtown Disney for lunch and then taking the boat over to Port Orleans so I can get my fix in. Maybe even checking out the boardwalk area. :confused3

Any suggestions for dinner? I was thinking about doing a table service but I think it might be easier and more flexible if I don't have set dinner plans.

Sunday January 10th:
*Animal Kingdom @ Rope Drop
*Break @ Pop
*Narcoossee’s @ 5PM
*Magic Kingdom EMH’s 8-11PM

I'm iffy on Narcoossee's. It looks really good and I'd love to check it out. I'm just worried about eating there solo.

Monday January 11th:
*Epcot @ Rope Drop
*Rose & Crown Pub @ 12:15PM
*Break @ Pop
*Hollywood Studios EMH’s 7-10PM

Tuesday January 12th:
*Magic Kingdom @ Rope Drop
*Liberty Tree Tavern @ 12:45PM
*Break @ Pop
*Choose my own Adventure Evening

I have no idea what I will choose to do this night and I kinda like that idea!

Wednesday January 13th:
*Hollywood Studios @ Rope Drop
*Break @ Pop
*Animal Kingdom EMH’s 5-8PM

Jen arrives this night...probably around 11PMish. Yayaya!!

Thursday January 14th:
*Epcot @ Rope Drop
*Hollywood Studios
*Brown Derby @ 7:30PM

We want to watch Fantasmic this night, which is at 6:30PM. Hopefully we'll have enough time to exit with the masses to get over to Brown Derby. The park closes at 8PM so we should be able to get an ADR for this late.

Friday January 15th:
*Animal Kingdom @ Rope Drop
*Break @ Pop
*Kona @ 5PM (2nd Choice - Wave @ 5PM
*Pirate & Pals Wishes Cruise @ 6:45PM

We want to make sure we eat as close to 5PM as possible so that is why we are going to give the TA a second choice.

Saturday January 16th:
*Epcot @ Rope Drop
*Break @ Pop
*Epcot
*Le Cellier @ 5PM - 7PM

Again, we are going to give the TA a time window. We also decided to give up the tour at Epcot. Who knows...we might add it when it gets closer but right now it's just making our schedule too crazy!

Sunday January 17th:
*Hollywood Studios @ Rope Drop
*Break @ Pop
*Magic Kingdom EMH’s 10-1AM
*Plaza @ 5PM

Jen is dying to eat at The Plaza and I am more than happy to oblige!

Monday January 18th:
*Downtown Disney
*Animal Kingdom till 5PM
*Jiko @ 6PM

I am so looking forward to that flatbread at Jiko. I can't wait to see Animal Kingdom Lodge too.

Tuesday January 19th:
*Ohana or 1900 Park Fare @ 7AM
*Magic Kingdom @ Rope Drop
*Flight Departs @ 3:15PM

I am debating between Ohana and 1900 Park Fare. I don't know what my problem is but there is something about 1900 Park Fare that I can't commit too 100%. I know how ridiculous that sounds but there you go.

So what do you think? How does Itinerary 4.0 look?

Here is another....Where in Disney Am I?

Here's my suggestion for night one. You mentioned going over to Boardwalk, why don't you plan on it and grab a bite at Big River, and check out the performers out on the boardwalk? You could also stroll over to Beach Club and see what movie is playing on the beach and if you are interested grab a lounge chair and take in a movie?

Itinerary 4.0 already??? My goodness, I fell behind! Well I think 4.0 looks terrific. 11 days, how delicious. I can tell you having just spent 10 days in the world that it is never ever enough but lovely to have more than a week! :thumbsup2

So many good dining options. I am so jealous!!

So happy for you and Jen that you are planning another get-away. Rain, rain stay away! They need a do-over!!!

Oh! I think your where in the world am I photo is the WL elevator. :upsidedow

I like 4.0. Looks like we might have some opportunities to run into each other. I have to figure out what day we want to do the tour and then plan from there.

My ADR day is going to be the 16th...so I really need to book before then!

Would that be at Wilderness Lodge?
Why yes it would be...but WHERE at the Wilderness Lodge? ;)

I might just take up that suggestion. I kinda like that I have a few solo nights where I don't have concrete plans so I can do whatever I want too. :thumbsup2

C! I am so happy that you are home. I am sure you are not as happy but I really missed you!!

So 10 days wasn't too much? That's good. I really hope that rain does stay away!

You would be correct, The Wilderness Lodge Elevator!

Now...on to more important things...when is YOUR next trip going to be?

WOO HOO for overlapping plans! I can't wait to hear about yours. Have you decided where you are going to stay yet??

I love our plans....going to be a great time!!! I can truly attest to the fact that it hardly rains at all in January!! It will be cool we might get some frost if its a cold spell but we won't get rain LOL!!!!

I'm from New England. I am good friends with frost and cold spells.

It's actually funny that you say that about the frost. My mom was sending me links to tank tops on clearance for January. I told her that you were in coat and gloves last year and she couldn't believe it. :rotfl2:
