Disney Giftcards to pay tips if on DDP?

Can this be done? Seems like a simple way to do it, plus get 5% off at Target...

I would love to know the answer to this question. We are on the dining plan for the first time and I have a large gift card from my Disney Visa.
Hopefully someone on these boards knows the answer!

You can put the gift cards on your room account and then just use your KTTW card to pay for the tips at a restaurant. This is what we plan to do in Sept. I think you have until midnight the night before check-out to pay off your account with gift cards.

You can do it either way, either directly on the GC or charge to room and pay that with GC.

We tried and only 1 restaurant allowed us to actually put it on the gift card. What we did was put it on the key to the world card and paid it off with the gc.

But since you are off site...I would say it is hit or miss. As you waiter/waitress before they bring the bill is my suggestion.

You can use a GC though to pay for the bill at the TS/CS places though right? (just perhaps not the tip portion if you are staying offsite (and don't have a KTTW acct.)

you can use a GC to pay at TS restaurants that are owned by WDW
