Disney Gift Card Deals

She called the manager who knew me as well and told me anything else should be good just not Disney nor any cards with "PO" on them.

Yup, No POSA for me too. Now I'm curious about trying other cards, maybe I'll drag my butt in and try again.

Or, DH has a friend who is moving into his first house... I just asked him if his friend needs anything from Best Buy, I'll sell him some gift cards at a discount

Since the BB gift card to gift card might be coming to an end...I’m trying to decide my next best move.
I guess I can still get a deal paying with a credit card for Disney cards at BB and using the SB deal (till that also comes to an end). My other option is to purchase Walmart gift cards at Walmart using my Discover card (5% at grocery). Then use those to buy from Sams Club. Can someone confirm that Walmart is considered a grocery store for the cash back this quarter?

Just to add another regional update...

I tried in SoCal at a store where they also know me (and one employee is also a fan of SB so was interested in the bonus 500 SB thing) and it does NOT work here either.

And it was also VERY low on Disney GCs and all were variable. I go in regularly and had gone Friday and they had a ton so they got wiped out over the weekend it seems (they were down to 4 variable ones)

Because there was no non-variable to try and some had had luck w/ those I tried two Cheesecake Factory $25 ones since they were one of the few non-variable of any type that they had and that did NOT work either

For those who are stuck with BB gift cards that need to convert them to Disney gift cards...

Do you think it would be possible to purchase an item with the gift cards and then return ("exchange") it for a Disney gift card? I have $75 to convert which is equivalent to a $69.99 item. If I were to purchase an item and pay with the gift cards, my total would be $74.19. I'm wondering if I could then do an "exchange" for a $75 Disney gift card and pay the remaining balance with my Visa card?? I thought I had read somewhere that you could exchange merchandise for gift cards but I'm not sure. Has anyone tried it??

Another "No POSA" scenario here in Taylor, MI. Cashier recognized me as I approached as we've talked Disney on several occasions when converting.

He told me right away that it wouldn't work as there was a policy change as of yesterday. He tried for me anyway and of course, it didn't work. He said that he was told it was to combat fraud.

Would you mind telling me which store? I have $100 I've been holding onto for a while and am kicking myself. At least it's not more...

Let's try to remember that a BB gc isn't the only way to earn the 500 (plus 100 using shop and earn) bonus SB. You can still cash in Swagbucks for PayPal and use that to buy the Disney gc at Best Buy.

That's what I am going to switch to now. It just stinks that my dh and I just redeemed our discounted SB gift cards for May on Best Buy just a few hours before this happened.

I will probably end up selling them to one of the gift card re-seller sites, hopefully before they get flooded and drop their offer amounts!

Yes, but its not quite as good of a deal.
A $25 BB gift card (x2) could be had for only 4400 SB if you redeemed over 2 months. That "saves" you 600 SB right there. Add that to the 600 SB you earn from the purchase, and you were "saving" $12 on a $50 gift card. By redeeming for PayPal, you are only earning the 600 SB so it's better than nothing, but only half of the deal that it used to be.

I just did this as well. I'm sure DH will not be too disappointed since there's almost always some new video game he "needs"

Curious, I just got back from Rochester Hills BB in MI and the cashier saw my hands full of various gift cards and she stated I couldn't buy them with a BB GC right off the bat. The manager runs over he said the same thing and I asked him, is this for EVERY GC and the manager said YES. Not convinced I asked him to swipe the $50 Uber GC and NOPE!

Again I'm not hurting, $630 in BB GC's with the knowledge I would be purchasing 2 appliances and a camera I'm good. But what about the $30 in promotion codes from cashstar, I wonder will will happen to that. I hope my camera goes on sale when these are released on May 30th, otherwise that would be a minor bite compared to being stuck with X amount and nothing to purchase.

If anyone finds somewhere that IS working in this area would you say where?

I have just the most recent $50 I'd love to finish using, otherwise like the rest of you all, I'll wait for something else I need - I'd just like to do it before the 500 thing may end. Thankfully I had done the rest of what I had gotten on Friday so this is just my most recent ones I'm stuck with...I had made sure to do those afraid maybe the bonus thing could end with a new month. Never imagined we'd have the whole GC thing end instead!

Also, just in case anyone's interested, it seems like not all stores explained why / gave the employees a heads up as the employees I interacted with had no clue anything had changed and were totally puzzled knowing it always used to work.

I was able to purchase a $50 Disney with a $50 BB gift card about 4:00 at a store in far north Houston. That was my last BB gift card.
