Disney Gift Card Deals

California BB. Just converted $400 BB GCs into Disney, didnt try SB or multiple transactions. I did purchase a 5 dollar toy with it, unsure if that made a difference, I’m just super thankful. Sorry to everyone who was denied, hope its resolved soon.

I'm planning to go back and try again - looking for the "PO" next time. You can do 2 x $25 paypal cards for 5,000 of your Swagbucks. The funds just get dumped into your paypal account.

Can also order a $50 Paypal (instead of 2 $25's), since PayPal's don't get discounted it's the same however it's redeemed.

Also noticed new month at SB and was able to purchase another BB $25 egift card for 2200 points instead of 2500 points. This is my second purchase buying at a discount. I see confirmation of points used for both.

See now this is what I was referring to in an earlier post. Does SB discount their gift cards once a month? I noticed several gift cards on sale on May 1st or was this a fluke?

is this a monthly thing? If so, wouldn't it be wiser to cash out a PayPal GC once a month?

You can get one discounted GC (2200 points for a $25) each month. You got one in April and one in May. Does not apply to paypal.

I'm waiting on a $25 from Swagbucks and then I was going to head over to Cedar Park, where I typically flip. Does RR have $50s or just $25 and variable like CP?

They have a few $50's left. Let me know how CP goes. I have $100 more (I didn't want to monopolize all the cashier's time this morning). I was probably going to go Friday.

Ugh. People. Why do they say this. This is not how money laundering works!!! Sheesh.

But it could be if the bb gift cards were bought with a stolen credit card, which is what they are trying to stop. They don't know how any of these bb gc's were obtained, gift, bought at bb, from sb, from raise, cashstar etc.

Anyone in the SW PA/Ohio area, Giant Eagle is giving extra fuel perks starting tomorrow on GC. Each $100 in GC gets me $12 in free gas, plus I use my AmEx card to get 6% back on all grocery purchases, so an 18% discount total.

Taking the family to Universal for Thanksgiving, so I need a lot of GC! Too bad I can't combine them online like Disney.

I had 600 in BB giftcard so I was very concerned when I read this. I turned around and was able to use them to buy Disney gc today in North Houston as well. I had three 200 BB GC that I turned into three 200 Disney GC. I lost out on the extra by dividing into 50 increments, but it wasnt worth the risk. I just wanted them changed. No more BB for me right now

Thank you! I thought it was a fluke, glad that it's not! :D

That's very possible, but credit card fraud isn't the same thing as "money laundering."

Technically, it is. Laundering is just turning illegally gotten money (through credit card fraud, etc.), and turning it into “legit” money.

I get it, but it still sucks. Criminals always ruin it for the rest of us.

I might hold on to my gift card to see how things play out. Worst case scenario, we get our noise-canceling headphones.

Thanks to all for your knowledge thus far. I haven’t paid full price for a single Disney gift card.

I think what is more important is the fact there were no signs posted prior to Best Buy making this decision or better yet signs posted on the Gift Card display and registers. And where is exactly is that new policy posted in their stores?
I think this was handled poorly by Best Buy and it's going to bite them, big time. >:(

What's more fraudulent a store promoting bait & switch or the so called money laundering scheme?
This!!! They have the right to do whatever they please with their business but it’s poor business ethics. It was actually helping their business imo. I never knew Best Buy had such a variety of things.

Target and Walmart/Sam’s it is for discounted gift cards.

They're a for profit company, it's their prerogative to update store policies whenever they see fit. This may affects 10% of the people that shop at BB, since most people wouldn't ever think to buy a gc with a gc. This is no different than a sale or promotion that gets pulled early because it was being abused, it's just the criminals that were abusing this.

I'm honestly surprised that Target and Walmart are still allowing it. Target must think that requiring the access codes lessens the impact though I don't know how it would.

Can they show proof of criminal activity or intent? If they felt so strongly about their decisions why put out a promotion? Again, where's the signs that should have been posted. Where is the new policy?

Ebay pulled this awhile back and due to the complaints Ebay gave a one month grace period. I don't care why Best Buy did this, but I do care how it was handled.

The cashier was unable to complete the transaction at one BB tonight. He was confused that it wasn't working and called over his manager (who was very nice but also gave the money laundering explanation). I hopped in the car and drove to another BB ~5 miles away. The transaction went through without problem there with variable load cards. Both BBs I went to were within 20 miles of BB's HQ.

I doubt anyone cares anymore, but it was interesting that at both BBs the variable cards showed up on the computer as being $25-$200. The manager told me that just changed as well (even though the physical cards still say $25-$500).
