Disney Gift Card Deals

Please forgive if answered somewhere in this massive thread already, I don't shop @ Target often

Did pick up 2 iphones on monday via BOGO deal :bounce:and have two $300 gift cards burning a hole in my pocket:)

Also, have another one slightly under $100 via an Xmas present I exchanged.

Can i still go to self-checkout & buy Disney GCs with the target ones? Will say they areodd looking GC, on cardboard type material vs plastic type.:confused3

If I'm good to go, wondering if I should break up the transactions. :scratchin @ Giant Eagle where i usually purchase anything over $1,000 in GC transactions triggers a customer service rep over-ride. Told it's to try and prevent fraud.

Perhaps I should employ three separate transactions?

Is there any kind of master list on which stores allow the exchange of their gift cards with Disney gift cards?

Sam's Club, you can do this online or in store, you can use Walmart and Sam's Club gift cards

Target, has to be done in store, but some people have reported their stores not allowing this.

Walmart

Best Buy, needs to be done in store( I believe there are some rare cases of it working online, but it's very rare.)

I can't think of any other stores.

Self checkout still works. Target's in store POS system still allows GC>GC transactions.

It really doesn't matter if your Target gift card is on a plastic card, flimsy cardstock, paper printout, or stored on your smartphone -- you just need a barcode to scan.

Using self checkout could prompt a Target associate to come over because after scanning in each Disney gift card, you'll be asked if you want to bag the item -- and gift cards are so light they don't always register on the scale that is the bagging area. You can press skip bagging three times, but you'll get locked out on the fourth and the checkout will signal an associate to key in their code to unlock it. My Target stocks a lot of $50 Disney gift cards, and only occasionally $100s. So you may have to make several transactions depending on how many gift cards you need, the denominations at your local store, and how indiscreet you want to be.

I'm not sure if that is standard for them now, or if you only get it via clicking through someone's referral link (hence Doc's note above). People post their links on frequent flyer blogs, so if you google enough, I'm sure you'll find one. Or just take your chances and apply via Discover directly. I noticed that Frequent Miler lists the $50 on his site as if its a standard thing. But you're right - when I click on his link to Discover, I don't see reference to the $50 in writing.
I find links on "conga lines" on other websites. I use the top link and then I put my link at the end. Eventually my link comes to the top and I get credit.

When I do self checkout (which is about 75% of the time whether I have gift cards to buy/use or not) I just have to push down on the scale a little bit when I put a light object in my bag or lack of bag. That goes for gift cards, birthday cards, pair of socks etc. It just takes a little extra push on the scale and the machine doesn't bother me at all.

Also a couple that are YMMV:

Walgreens

Kmart, though I think most of us have stopped going through them since they're likely to fold at any time

Does anyone know how to send an electronic target gift card I bought from cardpool to my phone? I only know how to load it on my target.com account.

I use the target app. You can load the card on there and it will give you a Barcode to scan.

Kind of an odd question. Does anyone happen to have historical data on the American express cash back offer for undercover tourist? We booked the cbr gift card deal for may 2018. I assumed we'd just do a package, but after talking to Disney it sounds like I may lose out of the gift card offer since switching to a package would give us a new reservation number and booking date. I figured to be safe we'd get tickets with undercover tourist, but I honestly haven't paid much attention to the offer since we've only booked as a package in the past.

If you've added it on Target.com and it has a balance, it is already available if you login to the Target app. Click the menu button in the top right of the app > Account > My Gift Cards

Hi I'm thinking of applying for the discover It card. I noticed someone mentioned that you can get a 50$ bonus for signing up but I can't find it on their website. Thanks
Still available, need to be referred by someone with a Discover card. Each person gets $50.

The current Amex offer (expires 5/31) is for $30 back for spending $150. Earlier this year (October-January) it was $20 back after spending $100. The winter before that (December 2015) it was also $30 off $150.

There are many variables to take into account when deciding if this offer is worth it. If you are buying a 3 or 4 day ticket, you will end up getting $30 off $300 plus so your savings is much lower. If you are buying a 1 day ticket, realize that Undercover Tourist charges more than Disney for 1 or 2 day tickets. For a hotel stay, it might make sense to book 1 or 2 night through undercover tourist and then the rest of the nights through Disney. However, I am not sure if they would make you check out and move to new room if you have a separate reservation for your remaining nights.

I personally did not find the Undercover Tourist offer worthwhile, considering the fact that using Amex offers earlier this year at BJ's, Sam's Club, and Staples, I was able to get close to $5500 off Disney Gift Cards at 25 - 30% off.

You can put the gift cards on your target app on your phone then scan them in at self check out. I have not had any issue the most I have purchased in one transaction is $400 in Disney GC using the Target GCs on my phone.

I am, I was a little surprised myself, but getting free laundry detergent pods and some new lightweight athletic shorts before every trip has really been great. We've pretty much got every sub-$20 Disney movie through rewards at Target for the kids to watch on the way down.
Where do you check to see if you have received Target Perks?

Thanks, good to know. Just back, no issue at all.

Broke it down by buying 6 $50's for each $300 GC

Then used other gift cards i had on hand. One was only $83. Couldn't figure out how to add a 2nd form of payment to purchase two $50s with it. Employee walking about said not possible at self-checkout but i could move over to regular cashier.

She then noticed i was only buying GC and laughed, said never mind. Then asked me if i had done the cell phone promo lol.

What's really nice is when i put them away, discovered I now have enough stockpiled to renew our APs this year:).

Awesome! Glad it worked out!

Thanks bbsearchlight. Right now i was looking at their buy 4 get 2 days free for basic tickets. For myself, dh, ds (child), and dd (free since she's under 3) it was around $1160. I still have to do some number crunching on it. I know going through disney I'll end up paying tax, but could get some back by using my dva. Good thing is I've got quite a bit of time to decide and since it looks like American express has the cay back offer pretty frequently I'd probably be fine waiting for the next offer if I don't take this one.
