if i were you i wouldnt be worried about them changing the rules on 12/05. i would be worried about sitting on 3k worth of pre-owned digital target gift cards until 12/04.
IIRC once you combine them with a "master" gift card they cannot be bled dry by the previous owners.

Last year, I would have agreed with this statement. After reading a recent post about someone having their Disney GC funds frozen because one of the GCs that they had combined to it was purchased with a stolen CC, I would be reluctant to combine any store GCs that were purchased from one of the discounters. I would act to use those GC funds as soon as they were purchased. If Disney does this (and Starbucks, too), then any retailer could.

My birthday was last week but I didn't get a coupon from eBay! I guess they figured I took them for enough free money.
Aww I'm sorry. Happy late birthday! Are you still making purchases with ebay? I've bought a few things as gifts after the gift card change. Maybe that's why I received one?

I finally received my Target gift card from Staples late yesterday afternoon. Today I was surprised to find that Ebates paid out 2% even though gift cards are excluded.

Good to know. I'm getting paid via Giving Assistant as well (although I'm having a hard time matching the cash back with the purchase). I THINK I'm getting 1% on the gift card portion of my order. Will use Ebates for the next one - thanks!

Sorry if I overlooked this but just curious for others that did the Amex spend $100 at Staples.com and get a $20 credit. I had it on three cards so for one I ordered the Target e-gift card and was billed on 11/17 but haven't received the $20 credit yet. I'm not *too* worried yet but do hope it shows up soon. Has anyone received their $20 Amex credit yet for the Target e-gift cards?

What is more bizarre, for my other two cards i did the Disney gift card and on Staples it showed the estimated shipping or delivery (can't remember now) toward the end of the month. I thought no problem, I can wait on them. Well today, I received both in the mail. I haven't even been billed for them yet (which is odd to me) so naturally I don't have the credits for those yet.

Anyone have something similar happen?

Thanks,
Heather

Hi Heather! My Staples purchases are odd as well. For some, I can clearly see the pending charge on my credit card. But for others, there is nothing yet - even though I've received (and used) the gift cards. Very strange! Also, where my purchase was mixed (some gift card + some merch), they have only charged me for the shipped merchandise. Figure I'll just wait it out a bit and see what happens.

I had the offer on three cards, I purchased Target e-cards over the last three days - 1 each day. All still show as pending on my credit cards, but I've received two Target cards via email already.

Also, when I did the Home Depot offer a bit ago, it took about a week for my $15 statement credit to show up, though it sounded like most people's were quicker. That was my first offer redeemed on my AMEX, not sure if that had anything to do with it.

My staples order shows up on my Amex (no longer pending). I expect to see the credit next week.

I spent my $100 target gift card today--$50 of groceries for $40 and a $90 Lego set price matched to Walmart for $57. Plus I got perks for my purchase.

Hey, peeps. I have a quick question.
I'm getting dangerously close to purchasing some Disney gift cards from Sam's. I was in my local store a couple of weeks ago and saw tons of the $150 packs, but no $500. I've noticed the $500 ones were listed "sold out" online too. Well, just checked this evening and the $500 ones are available online! Woo Hoo!

My question is this: I'm going to purchase them with my Chase Freedom since right now I get 5% back at Sam's. I just want to be reassured that purchasing the gift cards online at Sam's website will trigger that 5%. I assume it would, but I always figure there will be some catch that I missed in the fine print, LOL!

If you've purchased Disney gift cards from Sam's website with a Chase Freedom and gotten 5% back, let me hear it! :)

Thanks, guys!

Here's what my local Target in N.Florida had to say about the Dec. 4th deal:

1. You can use a Target e-gift card to purchase a physical Target card in the store.

2. You DO NOT have to wait a day to use said physical card but you need to use it in a separate transaction from the one you purchased it in.

I interpret this to mean that if you want to turn around and use the physical Target gift card to buy a Disney(or any other) gift card you just need to initiate a new transaction. You can probably do it with the same cashier and not have to get in line again.

As is often said YMMV. I'm just passing along what this particular employee's take is on the policy. One can never attest to the accuracy of the info.

I'm skeptical of this for two reasons:

1) Target is getting stricter about gift cards so it seems unlikely that they would not force you to wait until the next day when this is always how it has worked in the past.

2) If this were the case, I would just continue buying gift cards all day long! By the end of the day, my $270 initial investment could be worth quite a bit.
