Disney Gift Card Deals

Last year was December 20, the year before it was Black Friday. There are definitely ways around the $300 limit by going to multiple stores, or even visiting the same store multiple times. It was also available online. I haven't heard anything about the buy two $25 gift cards get a 5$ Target card for this year, but i'm sure someone will post about it if they hear something. I was hitting up all four Targets in my area trying to find $25 Disney gift cards and only managed to find one in spite of them showing hundreds of them in stock. A few days after the sale ended, I saw tons of them in the store. Both the December 4 and the buy 2 get a $5 GC deal equal a 10% savings. IMO the December 4 deal gives you more flexibility since you're not at the mercy of trying to find $25 gift cards in stock.

I have another question about this. I did it once, but just ordered $300 online and didn't go into the store. This year, I'd like to buy more than $300. How do they track the $300 limit? What's to stop someone from simply buying $300 at a time, and going through the checkout more than once? Or using self-checkout? Do you need to use a different credit card for each transaction so that it's not tracked that way?

Random Target gift card question . . . does anyone know if I can use a Target gift card to buy an iPhone at Target's mobile kiosk? They are running a really nice Black Friday promo, and I'm trying to figure out how to best take advantage. TIA!
IIRC the Target iPhone deals are for phones that are either leased or bought on a payment plan. The only charges you will pay at Target will be the taxes. I just bought 2 phones at Best Buy (received a $200 GC for each) and that's how it worked.

I haven't seen this posted but discover is running a sale on cash redemption you get extra money. For example carnival GC you pay $40 and get an $80 GC. It seem all GC right now at least give you a $5 extra.

Thanks! I was hoping to be able to pay up front for the phone instead of doing the payment plan. Oh well. Still a good deal even if I can't use Target gc.

Hi! I'm new to this gift card thing, though I have done some reading and tried to familiarize myself with the recent options. Checking out my Verizon smart rewards, I can get a discount (up to 10% off) on some gift cards using my smart rewards. Unfortunately, I don't see Target, Best Buy, Walmart, or Sam's gift cards as an option. I'm wondering what other retailers sell Disney gift cards where I could use a store gift card to buy a gift card. Anyone have a list? Thank you!

Yes. I plan on paying both phones off and moving to another NVNO after 30 days.

Also Walgreens, although YMMV

Not many places allow GC to GC purchases, and the list is shrinking.

I'm very new to the gift card racket ☺️ but ready to learn. If I get discounted Disney gift cards, can the balances then be linked to our magic bands? It would be great to not have to keep track of a bunch of cards!

No but you can charge to your room if staying onsite and then use the gift cards to pay your room charges
ETA you can use Disneygiftcard.com to manage your gift cards and consolidate up to $1000 per card so you don't have to "manage" a bunch of cards

I'm still able to use Kmart gift cards to buy Disney cards. Many report this isn't an option for them anymore but it still works for me. The store as a business is on its last legs, not sure how long my store will be there, so many are closing.

In store, you can go to different registers and buy another $300 worth of cards. Last year, I started with a register all the way on the left, then went to one all the way on the right, and then went to one in the middle. I don't believe they track you unless the cashier recognizes you as the same person. Last year, I used the same credit card more than once.

I don't know if you can buy a target gift card at the self checkout because you have to tell the system how much to put on it and I don't know if the self checkout can do that.

I also don't know if the self checkout can accept e-gift cards.

Thanks for the info! I was actually at Target this afternoon, and they had a sign up at the self-checkout saying you couldn't buy gift cards there. I think it also prohibited alcohol purchases.

My store didn't have self checkouts last year, so I can't comment on that. I can tell you I went to my store with my husband and we were able to purchase more than the $300 limit. Right when we got to the store, hubs went straight to the register in the electronics dept and bought $300. I grabbed a cart in the front of the store, then headed to the electronics dept and did my own transaction of $300. We had some other shopping to do, so after we picked up what we needed throughout the store we went to the front checkouts. He went to a different register and bought $300. I bought my $300 in the transaction with my other purchases. So, in one trip we were able to buy $1200 in cards between 2 people in 4 transactions.

What kind of Amex do you all have that are getting this offer? I get sign up offers all the time from them but never wanted to add another card, especially one with a fee. Offers like this might make it worth it though. Thanks!!
We have 2 different Amex for business (1 fee, 1 no fee). I would not sign up for an Amex with a fee JUST for these offers. The best are often not given out to everyone. Staples is the first home run deal I've had from amex all year (and it seems to be available to everyone on all cards) but if you weren't around the last couple days to add it to your card you would be out of luck because the offer is full, I think the Best Buy one lasted 1 day before it was full. Otherwise it's $10 off here. $5 of there. If you want to get into it for offers get a no fee AMEX to get a feel for how the offers work. There is MUCH speculation on why who gets what but no one really knows. Some say it's based on past purchases, some think specific types of amex but the theories never pan out for me.

Sounds like what we will need to do. I need $1800 of Disney GC just to cover our annual passes, so the discount would be worthwhile.

I was actually able to place 2 $300 orders online also (one under my account and one under my husband's) so that brought us up to $1800. If you can order some online, that should get the amount you need. Or you can just do 3 transactions each in store.

I just want to verify one more time: I can use Target gift cards to BUY Target gift cards on December 4th, right? I have about $3,000 worth of Disney cards I need to buy (for my Dec/Jan trip and my DVC dues) and even though the discount isn't really great right now on the card resale sites it's still save me another $100 if I buy Target cards and use them to buy the Target cards on the 4th and get 10% back in Target gift cards.
