Disney Gift Card Deals

What are everyone's thoughts on Ebates and Target? Do you think they will come back to giving cash back for purchases? Do you think if they do start to offer cash back again, the gift card loop will close?

I know we don't have crystal balls. Just curious what everyone is thinking might happen.

I think that the GC loophole has come to their attention and they're working on getting it closed. I have no doubts that eventually Target cashback will be reinstated on ebates but GC purchases will be excluded.

Ebucks are attached to eBay but you have to log into PayPal to complete the sale - which PayPal account doesn't matter. I would be highly surprised if they let you use the ebucks with your PayPal limited as it is. I don't think using ebucks on nonppdg will be the issue but checking out with that PayPal account that's been flagged attached might be.

When I unlinked I went under my account settings and just clicked on there's a PayPal section and unlinked from the computer. Not sure where on app but under your account info.
PayPal cc and checking is a separate thing on the PayPal site. They already have that info

PP closed my account and I was able to use an old, secondary business account to that I had forgotten about to redeem my eBay bucks with no problem. I also haven't had any issues using DH's PP account from the same IP starting from the day my account was first limited. I would have used his in the first place but I didn't want to jeopardize the eBay bucks on his account in case there was a problem!

PP closed my account and I was able to use an old, secondary business account to that I had forgotten about to redeem my eBay bucks with no problem. I also haven't had any issues using DH's PP account from the same IP starting from the day my account was first limited. That's lucky. They shut down my business account, DH's account and one my dad let me use. So annoying

After cancelling my delayed order yesterday, I reordered my school supplies. I received the first item (out of 12) today. Target packed notebook dividers in an 18" x 8" x 12" box??? Ugh--so wasteful!

I was able to buy a loadable eBay card with a Walgreens GC today. I asked the cashier if I just slide my gift card. She said I'm not sure if it will let you but please try. When it worked she said oh good it should since it's just like cash. So POS allows it. They also had loadable Disney GC.
I am in southern NJ, if it matters.

That's great! I just got my $100 Walgreens GC in the mail today. I am going to try getting $100 Disney GC.

I think I was fortunate because none of the PP accounts had the same bank accounts or credit cards linked. PP did say in the banning notification that none of the linked financial accounts could be used on a future PP account, but nothing about me not having another account.

The whole thing makes no sense to me and I still think it is wholly related to PPDG. I have never purchased from them using DHs PP account and will NEVER attempt to again. I cashed out all of my eBay bucks on Sears GCs right away this quarter just to be safe. I know I lost out on promos and the Sears card sales, but a bird in the hand... I still have a few appliances so the rest will all be coming from Sears if the GCs go on sale again!

I'm also lucky that I wasn't churning nor was I working towards Disney GCs so I had a direct way to spend my eBay bucks and didn't have to find an exit-to-Disney strategy.

Another example to heed the warning and staying away from PPDG. That makes I think 6 of us banned.

This is great to hear. I definitely need to run by my local store tomorrow to see if they carry ebay. I hadn't had a chance to do it yet. If they do, I guess I know what I'll be using my ebucks to get.

EDIT - Just went to ebay to check for Walgreen's cards and I only see the ones from SVM and the highest is $100. Looks like there is a $1.99 shipping charge on each card, with no reduction for extra cards like GCM. That would definitely cut into my churning profit each time, so I think it would only pay off if I waited for 4x or 5x promos, especially since I'll have to wait for the Walgreen's cards to arrive in the mail. I still might try it out just to see since our Walgreen's is only about 3 minutes down the street.

I'm going to try this when I get home. Do I start out in my ebay account then when I get to payment just log into daughters account? I'm confused as to how to access my ebucks from her PayPal account.

The eBay bucks are only linked to eBay and not PP. When you log into eBay, go to My eBay then Summary and then Account. Unlink your PP account if you haven't already. Then when you check out sign into your daughter's PP account.

No sense in paying for my Starbucks with a Disney Gift Card where the final discount was 5%, when I can get a cheaper Starbucks card off of eBay.

I got one to use at ghiradellis on our next trip, but it was before all of the PPDG nonsense - it is an egift card. Not sure if they have physical cards on ebay for them or not.

Landrys is also good at T-Rex and Rainforest Cafe. They have their Select Club (I think that's what it's called) where when you join you get a joining bonus credit and a birthday gift (also a credit). It costs the same amount to join as you get back for the joining bonus so that's a wash. I think the birthday gift is $25 or $30. I forget exactly.

Not entirely sure, but you may need to go through Ebates when bidding and paying (preferably in one "trip"). I think the fine print isn't very clear on that. I won an auction on-the-go using eBay's mobile app but didn't go through Ebates and didn't get around to paying until later. I activated Ebates when paying, but didn't get credited.
