Going to try the GameStop churn for the first time after a good long Target churn run. Are people generally using PPDG to buy the GS GC's or is there a better eBay seller? Thanks!
Proceed with caution!
My local GS stores, along with those of several other members here, recently changed their policies to stop allowing the use of GS GCs to buy eBay GCs, and in some cases any third-party GCs altogether. Some GS stores allow the use of physical GCs to buy other GCs, but not electronic GCs like those you'd get from PPDG. GS's policies vary by store and region, and stores that allow you to use GCs to buy GCs one day might change their policy suddenly to disallow such transactions. Aside from the highly YMMV nature of GS churning currently, there are also rumors that GS may change their POS system soon to not allow the use of trade-in credit or GCs toward the purchase of GCs.
There are a few other considerations. PPDG is notoriously difficult to shop through because they have a very sensitive anti-fraud system that does not like high purchase amounts and frequency, purchases from IP addresses and geolocations that it does not recognize, and GC purchases paid for by GCs.
So say you buy electronic GS GCs from PPDG. Your local GS store(s) may not accept eGCs toward the purchase of other GCs, or may not allow GC-to-GC purchases at all. But say you successfully buy an eBay GC from GS, and then use that eBay GC on PPDG to buy more GS eGCs. You might trigger PPDG's anti-fraud software because you paid for an eGC with GCs, cause your account to become "limited," open up a review of your PP account, which could lead to the termination of your PP account. PPDG can be great when it works. Your eGCs are delivered in about an hour and free of shipping. But most people here will tell you PPDG is a pain to deal with and you're playing with fire.
Other eBay sellers like GiftCardMall, NationalGiftCard, and Cardency sell physical GS GCs but GCM is sold out right now and I believe all these sellers charge $1-2+ for shipping per card. Shipping costs will eat into your returns, which is basically only the eBay Bucks (usually 2%) and Ebates (1%) (and possibly credit card cash back) you earn off the GS GC purchase on the eBay end. So when you say you're going to try this, you might want to wait for a good 8% or 10% eBucks promo.
