Disney Gift Card Deals

I can't really figure out how to track my savings in a spreadsheet. I keep track of everything and am regularly updating my numbers to reflect current savings but it's not too 'pretty'. I add in rewards earned with each transaction. I keep records of everything with dates so if for some reason, I do not earn the reward, I go back and correct my original amount.

Grr, out of about 8 giftcards I bought from Cardcash yesterday 2 of them are drained. One showed up immediately and the other one got drained as I was sitting here trying to but through an order of Ebay GC's. >:( People suck!

It seems crazy how these giftcard websites stay in business with how much they lose to fraud. At this point I assume I will get at least one empty card with every order I put in.

In my spreadsheet, I have columns for rebates (and gift cards and even DVA) and enter them as they're earned, then enter transfer entries when I receive the rebate.

Any chance you'd be willing to share a blank copy of your spreadsheet?

Thats a great idea. I don't know why I didn't think of that, it makes sense to only record once you receive the rebate. Thanks a ton!

They're taking a 15% cut - so as long as they don't have to eat more than 1 in 7, they won't lose money. And I'm sure they have a certain amount of claw-back ability for things like fraud and stolen cards.

Has anyone experienced any of these gift card sites where they didn't get the refund after a drained card? I have always been refunded but do worry that it might look like I am the one who emptied the card. Like this morning- I was actively purchasing Target gc's when one of mine was emptied and it just showed "online" as the purchase location on the fraudulent one which is what the rest of my legitimate purchases this morning have showed up as.
Just curious.

R.I.P. "Combine" button. Oh how I miss you.:sad1:

I haven't heard of it yet. Mostly delay refunds to customers. Like taking a long time. I'm certain they realize how common it is.

When you said actively purchasing Target GC, were you buying from these discount retailers? I miss the combine button too, but now when I purchase a discount Target GC, I quickly buy a higher domination Target GC with the Discounted GC and pay the difference with an older GC I already own. Comes pretty quick, but the only way to "combine" without the button or visiting the store.

I had already purchased the Target GC from CardCash and I was converting them to Target gift cards on Targets site since I can't combine and was too lazy to go to the store :teeth:

Hopefully others will learn from my mistake. During my Xmas shopping earlier in the month I saw Disney gift cards at Walgreens. I went home and ordered a rather large amount of Walgreen cards at a 13% savings from a card service. They came in today and I just got home from a very sad trip to Walgreens. The checkout girl tried several times and different ways to run it through. Called in the manager and all of my pleading fell on deaf ears. Walgreens will not accept their own gift cards for other gift cards. I'm to embarrassed to admit the amount I now have in Walgreens gift cards. Suffice to say I could never spend this amount at Walgreens in my lifetime.

Also, this method doesn't work at CVS.

Sorry to hear about that. Keep some for prescriptions and maybe eBay some.

On the lighter side, what are death ears? Is that sort of like a mute point, or intensive purposes? :)

You could try selling them on raise or eBay, or even one of the target gift card exchange kiosks. You will lose the percentage you saved but you could do the target/eBay churn through ebates to try to get some of that back!

Thanks for the caveat - sorry you had to learn the hard way.

It's a reminder to us all that even the proven methods of churning could end abruptly and you could be stuck with a lot of gift cards you need to convert into something. Fortunately, I feel comfortable enough that I could eventually spend all I have in either Target or on eBay. What would really hose me, though, is if one of them went out of business. I think they're both financially sound over the short term, but nothing's permanent, right?

Anyone ever have any issues with GC's from Raise?

Also, if we use these GC's, are they generally combinable with other store discounts? We us a 10% military discount at Lowes/Home Depot, and I've noticed that Raise sells them at 10-11% off for Lowes anyways.. That's a good discount if I can combine the 2.

Can anyone comment on the decline in discount % for the Raise Target cards? Is this something you would expect to see this time of year? I was going to wait until after the 1st of the year, kind of regretting that decision.

Received the last of my Disney gift cards ($100.00 cards) ordered from the 10 percent off target gift cards. Happy with my 15 percent discount.
Me too, was worried they were going to leave it on the porch and with the wind lately it would have ended up in Canada.
