I went for it - I just don't have the stomach to hold out for a promo that may not come this week.

I did too. I figured the 150's are in stock, it will add a little extra to my churn. I'm kinda kicking myself for not doing a churn at the beginning of the month without any incentive. It's not a whole lot, but it would have been an extra $72 or so in the whole scheme. I also had a nice extra 5% off code at card pool for today, so I used that too, adding a little extra in my churning capital.

Does anyone ever book their Disney resorts through Orbitz? Ebates has 8.1% back on Orbitz & Orbitz has up to 15% back with their promo code. Since we're planning a week & a half vacation, that would be a huge chunk of savings!

Yes..this past trip I booked with Orbitz/ebates.
The promo was 15% off current rates which where already discounted plus cashback..the cashback doesnttake effect until your trip is completed..you also incur orbit bucks for your next trip.
just make sure the ebates promo applies to your deal..2 years ago activities was I think 20% CB and lots of us scored on disney tickets.

I have! With the Orbitz discount code, it was cheaper than Disney's discount plus I received cash through Ebates after my stay. I have noticed that Ebay is not giving as high a percentage on hotel rooms as they used to but it's better than nothing!

A little advice please....

I have $600 in eBay gift cards and just received a $100 Target card in the mail today. I'm thinking about taking advantage of the 4% Ebates deal, but considering just buying $300 of Target cards and holding on to the other $300 in eBay cards, just in case a promo comes out later this week. I think the biggest downside to this plan is that I will end up paying more in shipping in the long run...but...if a promo does come out, I won't be completely out of luck while waiting for the shipment to arrive AND the extra 3% in eBates would cover the extra shipping costs.

WWYD?? Our trip isn't until October but I am only $300 away from my goal and I'd really like to get my Disney gift cards in hand ASAP in case this great set up comes crashing down someday.

ok, so what I have is:

1. 
   1. Go to swagbucks and get into raise.com through there. I think it is currently showing 2SB/$1
   

2. In raise buy target gift card (right now only showing 4%, so should I wait for this to get better, or have they been low for a really long time? The last time I bought, I was able to get 6%). Only buy a total of 4 target gift cards.


3. Use topcashback to purchase new target gift card on target.com and pay using my raise target cards to make sure I don’t lose my money and to get points with topcashback. (I am not sure if I have this right) I know there was a site to be able to combine the gift cards and get points for it. Do I need to get a small item when combining gift cards?

4. Go through ebates to target again and buy ebay gift cards using my target gift card for payment but have my redcard as my default payment. Only buy enough for a $200 ebay gift card.


5. Go through swagbucks to ebay

6. Try and get an email from ebay for ebay bucks 2x,3x so on, although I have never gotten one (so I just put a gift card in my cart and left, hoping this will generate email), or try and see if gift card mall will offer sale on target cards. If not will still earn $3 in ebay bucks per $150 of target gift cards. Pay with my paypal, but I can put my ebay gift card as my payment in paypal ( I have never done this before, so I will figure out how to do that).


7. Then wait for target gift card to be mailed to me and then go through ebates to target.com and buy my Disney gift card with my target gift card and red card setup as default payment.


Is this right? So the percentage breakdown should look like this.

• Swagbucks earned on raise 2sb/$1, and eventually have enough swagbucks to get a target gift card, so this varies
  
  
• % saved on raise.com, if I did right now would be 4% savings
  
  
• Top cash back 2% for combining cards?
  
  
• Ebates 2% for buying ebay gift cards (with small item like ruler)
  
  
• 5% redcard savings
  
  
• 5% savings with swagbucks when going to ebay
  
  
• Ebay bucks earned minimum of $3 for $150.00
  
  
• Ebates 2% target when going to buy actual Disney gift card
  

Do I have this all right? So %16 savings plus the raise % savings not including how much can be earned in swagbucks and ebay bucks. Right?

I did this. I took advantage of the ebates deal to use my eBay Bucks + a little more. But, I didn't convert all my eBay money, in hopes of an offer soon. Sometimes a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush! This is when it becomes "gambling"! Ha!

Did you go through ebates or another site to get cash back? I see it says staples does not give cash back for gift card purchases so I wondered if it did actually work. If not, I won't bother and will just order directly.

I used Chase's Ultimate Rewards shopping portal for 2%. They seem to pay even if I don't use my freedom card. I like that I can pay bill w/ rewards.

I haven't with Orbitz but I definitely would. Recently got DLH at 20% off Disney's sale rate through cheaptickets with a code (traveler20) for June. Orbitz had the 15% code but even with orbitz points the Cheaptix was better but I did have to pay full res upfront which for over $400 in savings I didn't mind. Ebates was 5%. I'd check cheaptix as well (I think same owners) and do the math and see who much come out ahead. I'm constantly checking them now on my bookings for October. Could've saved a pretty penny over spring break. They even have swolphin.

My TA wasn't impressed needless to say but she also couldn't give me a reason not to book....

Update: just checked since I saw this and on Cheaptix I can upgrade to club for only $150 for my stay.

On my home computer I have the search bar downloaded on my pc so I know ill get credited. I had to use my phone for this deal and there was no confirmation of ebates crediting at any point. Last week Staples emailed me about $100 Staples gcs for $85. When I purchased, it showed me being charged tax but on my credit card pending it showed with no tax.

Well, that is weird, I just added it to my card to check out and it is adding tax??? Not going to do this if I have to pay $8 in tax. I just tried added the egift card instead and that one does not add tax but the regular gift card does.

I did it and it showed tax. I chatted with staples and they had me call the tax number 1-800-793-3320. Talked to a girl who said there was a glitch in their system with the ebay gift cards. Took my order number and said as soon as it shipped she would initiate a refund of the tax and I would get e-mail confirmation. Hoping it goes through no problem.

I follow a sub-reddit that follows PC computer parts sales, and they're also discussing this deal for ebay. They mention that tax is applied to things you buy with the GC, not to the GC purchase itself. And staples is known with this glitch. You can always contact Staples CS if your finalized charge doesn't take off the tax charge.

Thinking of trying GS churn myself now. GF and I are video gamers, so it doesn't hurt us too much if we are stuck with GS balance. But I dislike GS because of their pushy cashiers.

Last week Staples emailed me about $100 Staples gcs for $85. When I purchased, it showed me being charged tax but on my credit card pending it showed with no tax.

Hmmm, I will have to ponder this.
