Disney Gift Card Deals

By staying off property, I'm pretty sure you would be able to find a hotel for half of $4,500. The HoJo goes for $150 per night and it's a great hotel right across the street.

There is also an IHG property around the corner (can't recall which one off the top of my head), and I don't think its too expensive. Even better - there is a special deal on the IHG credit card right now . . . 70K points I think (brain is fuzzy)?? I would get the credit card and stay for free (or close to it!).

Another option would be to rent the Grand Californian from a DVC member (if your really want to be on property) - not cheap but has to be less than $4,500 . . .

I bought a Bed Bath & Beyond merchandise gift card w/ my Bucks and when I tried to pay with it, the cashier says it has 0 balance. The seller seems to have good feedback. I'm thinking he might have got ripped off too. The fine print says something about if lost just show receipt and we'll issue a new one. Easy peasy....for fraudsters.
I don't think I can use this online and don't have the receipt soooo, I guess, everything will be OK. But I'm definately going to lose at least 5 minutes sleep tonight and probably have some weird dream of me chasing gift cards that grew feet. Like Alice and Wonderland playing cards. Or worse! Them chasing me.

Oh no, sorry to hear that! That really stinks to lose your bucks like that! Did you contact the seller you bought it from? Hopefully they would stand behind what they sold you, even if he was ripped off, too.

The only thing about this thats kills me is the hotel costs. I'm looking at $4,500 for the hotel that week (staying on property). Now thats a lot and I could save a lot by staying off property BUT i lose the benefit of saving up gift cards to try and cover it.
Other downside i have to Re-up my Annual Pass this week too..
i'm mostly talking aloud here, but i'm horrible indecisive and if i don't start planning now i won't have a room to sleep in lol

Wait, couldn't you book an off-property hotel through a travel agent and pay for it through gift cards or DVA (via gift cards)? We booked the Desert Palms for Tinker Bell through Small World and just paid for it through DVA this week.

Free Star Wars: Force Awakens Blu Ray for new sign ups through Walmart for TopCashBack :thumbsup2

Ends 11:59pm PT on Sunday, April 10, 2016 OR while supplies last.

http://www.topcashba.../walmart-deals/

Details:

TopCashBack is offering a rebate of $22 when you order Star Wars: The Force Awakens for $19.96 from Walmart online. That will cover the cost of the movie, plus tax and a little extra. To grab the deal before it’s gone (while supplies last):

1) Sign up for an account with TopCashBack (this offer is for NEW users only, but you may have more than one account per household).
2) Visit the Walmart Star Wars offer on the TopCashBack site. You should see the $22 rebate offer.
3) Click the “Get Cashback Now” button to be directed to the Walmart site. (If you’re on mobile, look for a faint gray arrow pointing to the deal. If you don’t see it, you may need to try a computer instead).
4) Add Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Blu-ray + DVD + digital HD) movie (priced at $19.96) to your cart. If the price is outside of this range, the offer will not work.
5) Continue to checkout. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING ELSE IN THIS ORDER or you won’t get your cash back.
6) Select ship to store/in-store pickup to avoid shipping fees.
7) Pay $19.96 + tax. Wait for your $22 cash back rebate to appear in your account within 7 days.

Since I already have the Blu Ray, I'm going to see if I can exchange it for a gift card or something.

I didn't know that was possible to be honest. But i'll definitely look into it now, thanks for that tip!

Oh man, that'll take some of the fun out of churning :( I hope you get reimbursed without any hassles.

My Disneyland trip in november is causing me some problems though... Maybe some of y'all will provide a voice of reason for me and tell me i'm insane:
I'm running Avengers in Novembers it's the 10-13th, BUT i have a business trip in Vegas the 1st-4th. I have the opportunity to use my business travel to cover my airfare costs, BUT i have to extend my disneyland trip to the 5th-14th.

Well, if you use a cc that gives rewards, could you apply any of those points/cashback to a hotel stay offsite? (offsite at DL is like onsite in many cases) Or if you don't, why not open one that gives you major travel points ,use that for your churn needs, and build points for November that way to save $$$? churning for trips isn't only about disney cards.... Like the current ihg or hilton amex offers for big points bonuses?(ihg seems like a really easy choice) It's also about saving in other ways,so you can apply your actual money to ,say,an AP

Update on my hotels .com GC from SVMGiftCards: I finally heard back from "corporate" and similar to @kidsfirsttrip, the GCs are on back order. Apparently, the eBay arm of the company has received so many emails, they are back logged on replying. Later I received an email from the eBay division and they said they would expedite shipping as soon as they come in or they would do a quick refund. I told them I would wait, I just wanted to know what was going on.

So, @TheDisneyDoll, if you decide to purchase these gift cards instead of Disney GCs for your stay on property at DLR, definitely buy them well in advance in case they are back ordered again in the future. It seems to be a hotels .com thing and not a problem with the seller. Also, wanted to add that you could consider a split stay - yes, it can be a hassle to move, but it may be worth it.

oh hopefully they don't take to much longer to come in. Thank you for tagging me on this :)
I have done split stays at Disney world, my trip next week is split among 3 resorts but I have my car so it'll be super easy.
I'm not against the idea at all :)

so let me see if I have this correct you booked an offsite hotel thru Small world and then paid it off with Disney gift cards thru your DVA account?

quick question on the hotel.com CG , am I correct in assuming once you have the card you are booking thru Hotel.com? may have to see if this is a better deal than booking a military rate right from the hotel.

I believe this will work if you're booking through a certified Disney agent or even the Disneyland website at a Good Neighbor hotel that bundles in with Disney packages.

Yeah, IIRC that they sold room and ticket packages through disneyland.com and that you could pay with GC to stay at a good neighbor hotel.

$100 Disney gift cards are still out of stock online:mad:. How long has it been since they've been in stock? It seems like it has been quite a while.

I don't plan on buying my Disney cards until September (trip is not until mid-October) so I am not sweating it yet. I am fairly certain that even if I went to the store with my $1000 of Target gift cards that I acquired via churning, I would still come out ahead. Yes, I'd be leaving $50 on the table by not buying them online, but that is a LOT of orders to try and get them all in $50 increments.

What would you all do? If you had $1000 in Target gift cards that you wanted to convert to Disney gift cards, and no $100 were available online, how would you plan your attack? If there is a (4) card limit for the $50, I would have to place (5) separate orders, and I would assume that there should be at least 24 hours between each one. That means I would need to start the ordering about 3 weeks before we leave to make sure they arrive on time.

I wouldn't sweat it and would just wait until about a month out. It does seem like the $100 cards have been out of stock for longer than usual lately, but it's not unusual compared to last year when they'd be out for weeks at a time. We have a trip planned for November, and I haven't even bothered to look at what Disney cards are in stock right now. It's only April now, and I'm sure Target will restock in the next five months.

I take it, this wouldn't work in Orlando?

There was a time when Target didn't carry $100 Disney cards. We all got $50 cards and and we walk uphill both ways in the snow to get them. And we liked it!
