Curious---Will the PayPal limit being lifted change your thought process on how you order?

I don't think mine will but I'm doing this on a much smaller scale than many of you. I wasn't sure I'd even meet the 6 month limit but have enjoyed following this thread & learning from everyone.

It's changing my strategy. After burning through my son's $5K limit in six weeks, we had planned to only do 5X offers in the future, but now I think we'll take advantage of anything 3X and above. My concerns are that they'll reduce the number of 5X offers or that they'll exclude gift card purchases from the bonus offers.

Not for me. I take a very conservative approach and I don't think that I would meet the $500 eBucks limit in any quarter, nor would I be churning enough through Target .com to make that amount.

Right now, I have more Target GCs coming from GCM than I've ever had in the churning process and more sitting at home ready to order eBay GCs when I feel comfortable making another purchase at Target .com. I'll probably continue going along as I have in the past. I don't need the Disney GCs until December, so there's no rush to take advantage of every opportunity that crosses my path.

I am dying to get started with this but never got the 4x eBay promotion. When do you all think the next one will be? I am nervous my very old account won't get them so thinking about setting up a secondary account. Should I do that now or wait until the next promotion is released?
I have had my paypal since 2001. I joined ebay bucks in August and got the first offer after I joined. I have only missed out on 3 or 4 offers since (2 in October, when I had $300+ ebay bucks to spend).

It will certainly have an impact on how people shop. An impact that they can't avoid even. Many people held out for 5X before... this maximizes the consumer payout and minimizes the Ebay profit (they are paying out 10% in bucks and making maybe 12% on the sale). Now with the volume unlimited, we will likely see fewer 5X promotions. This is my guess. So now people will be more willing to "settle" for 3X or 2X. The more people that settle for 2X and 3X, the fewer 5X Ebay has to run. Ebay makes a higher profit on each sale... and more sales. Win-win for them.

Consumer goal is to make the same amount as before, but they have to churn twice now to make the same amount of money. Twice the churns is twice the profit for Ebay. Although it seems great at first glance and everyone is rejoicing, I am not convinced this is "better" ~ for us. I was making $500/quarter before. I'll still make $500/quarter. But I'll have to do more work now with higher volume and lower margin.

Ebay has squeezed a bit of the juice away from the consumer and into their own cup.

That is really speculative. You have no clue if eBay will decrease the 5x promotions. I think we all just have to wait and see.

I think both my orders of target giftcards from last night shipped early this morning (both with UPS tracking and signature delivery, although that doesn't mean it won't switch over to the post office) and are scheduled for delivery Monday :) I was a little worried they would run out and cancel my order....
I order since Monday's morning and my order has yet to ship. GCM usually delivers my cards after 1 week since purchase, but the last shipment took almost two weeks :(

I agree, and it also doesn't take into consideration the extra 5% saved at Target with each churn and the other gains from portals like Ebates.

I stopped a couple of months ago. Discount wasn't as great anymore and the Target bannings worry me.

I think I am going to avoid it as well. Previously, I only did Raise to Target to Disney so my savings through Raise were more important. Now with all the bannings I'm getting nervous, but the 3x-5x bonuses on Ebay are even better than Raise anyway so I think I may just start there next time I need gift cards.

Can anyone look over my spreadsheet to see if I calculated anything wrong? I added all my surplus together and I should have 219$ but I only have 98$ ebay bucks, ~50$ in cashback rewards from churning and daily purchase. I'm missing around 150$.

I took a look at your spreadsheet and don't fully understand it. For example, it says that you are purchasing $325.79 from Target for $309.56. How? Target doesn't sell odd numbered gift cards. Also, are you accounting for the fact that some savings are from just not spending money in the first place? Such as when you bought cards from Raise at a discount? Unless you took that extra and set it aside into a separate account or have it in cash, then those funds might be what you are "missing."

I am going to eliminate some sensitive information from my spread sheet and then post it so that you get an idea of how I track my savings. I have a lot more fields so that I get a better idea of exactly where money comes from and where it goes as I churn.

I need a good shopping portal for this churning. I have been using iConsumer, but reached my monthly limit for eBay rewards from them. I belong to MyPoints. Should I use them until iConsumer opens up for me next week or is there a better one?

I always check here to see who is paying out the most on eBay: www.cashbackmonitor.com

Lots of people use eBates or Swagbucks.

Soooooo, now that I have done a few churns through Target-eBay-Target, used a portal, got some cc rewards, I believe I'm getting a handle on this. I started a few weeks ago with the sale on Target cards and bought one through Raise. Now I have $1600 in Target cards. If I want to churn $1400, taking advantage of a 3x promo, I will earn $70 from 5% Redcard discount and then $84 in ebay bucks, correct? This doesn't include anything I get from a portal. ( I am getting 1.5% from iConsumer which would be $21, but I'm not getting any rewards from buying eBay through Target from them) Still, that's $175?!!. Please tell me my math is right :teeth:

Which do you prefer? Do either give a reward for buying eBay cards on Target? I don't think I'm getting that from iConsumer (although they are giving me 1.55 for buying Target cards on eBay).

I used eBates mostly and you do get rewards from Target as long as you add another qualifying item when you check out. I usually add something that I would buy anyways and set it for in store pickup. I shop at Target pretty regularly. But I have used Swagbucks sometimes, mostly by accident though, since I have both extensions on my browser. They pay the same, so I don't really care how I get the money.
