Disney Gift Card Deals

Not to stir the pot or anything, but I was reading the SD's thread regarding this eBay Target GC promotion, and comparing the tone to DIS Board's discussion is dramatically different. They were discussing the 5% Red Card/GC discount and the tone is more condescending than here. On top of that, people are intentionally giving incorrect data points to keep the "deal," or loophole alive.
Wanted to give everyone props for keeping this thread honest and alive for 534 pages.
Back to the topic, I have been anticipating getting off work all day to rush to get my UPS package from GCM. Not a good sign that 50% of the promotion is almost over. Let's see if I can get these cards to activate in time for a purchase. Anyone on a crunch as well? haha
What's the "SD's thread"? I only work here. And sometimes... in very very dark gray areas.
No crunch here, just sitting tight looking for new deals. GL!

What is SD?

I just got a call from a USPS inspector, 2 kohls cards I bought from RAISE were bought with a stolen credit card and when I made a purchase at kohls I had to use my credit card for the remaining balance and that is how they tracked me down. I talked to a police detective who took my information from the purchase from raise and is going to follow up with them. I hope that is the end of it.

OMG that's awful! I would be so upset! I will stay away from resales now that I read this!

SD=Slick Deals

It's a website for deals. They're very good about finding deals and sharing some of them. The language on their forums can be salty at times and they aren't very tolerant of people asking for help when the info has already been posted. And as the PP posted, some of them will actually post completely misleading info in order to discourage people from taking advantage of an ongoing deal.

Is anyone not jumping on the ebay $95 Target gc? I am debating holding off for a bonus bucks sale instead.

Well, an eBay Bucks bonus could be anywhere between 2X-5X (which is the equivalent of 2%-5%). There might be bigger eBay Bucks bonuses but they would be rare.

So, you want to pass up a definite 5% savings on a Target GC + 1% back in eBay Bucks AND free shipping (a savings of $2.99 for one GC) in favor of a possible bonus bucks offer? Some of us have not seen a bonus offer in months. What if you join their ranks?

I don't disagree, but just to clarify: the base amount for eBay Bucks is 2%, so a 2x-5x offer would mean 4%-10%.

That being said, this offer and a potential eBay Bucks offer are not mutually exclusive. You could theoretically do both, and result in higher savings with a Target churn in between.

My DS and I are holding off on this one. If there wasn't a limit of two $100 GC's, we might consider it. We're already more than half way through his PayPal $5K limit and we've only been using his account since Feb 1. So, we're trying to be somewhat selective in what offers we take advantage.

Thank you. I was looking for opinions on this sale and I appreciate your comments.

Thanks for the correction. In the back of my mind, I was thinking of the eBates cash back even though I was typing about the eBay Bucks. Too many deals and too many percentages to keep track of, LOL!

FWIW, I think it's a gamble to hope for a bonus offer on eBay Bucks so soon after last week's offer, or to even expect that you will be one of those lucky enough to receive one. And GCM has been known to sell out of Target GCs when they discount them. I don't think that there's a high probability of that perfect storm. Everyone's tolerance for risk is different. My is pretty low, I guess.

With this deal, you get 5% off plus 2% ebay bucks, and no shipping costs (which usually average out to around 1% if you buy $150 cards in quantity), so this deal is roughly equivalent to 4x ebay bucks.

The drawback to this particular deal in my opinion is that it's limited to small quantities, and if you're spending $200 Ebay GCs, you end up left with $10 on a redemption code. These get annoying to spend when you have several small ones. I still went for it.

Is there a quick way to see on either your eBay or PayPal account how much you've spent in eBay GC's? I've been poking around but can't see any way to filter my purchases by payment type.

For some reason, I completely missed the part about free shipping, in spite of looking at this offer multiple times today. Reading your post, it finally sunk in and I ended up going for it. I still have some ebay GC's left that I can use if a good ebay bucks offer comes along.

If you log into your PayPal account and click on wallet, then scroll down, hit classic site, then look on the left for I think it says gift certificates or something like that. I then hit see redemption codes, and it will list all that you have used.
