Disney Gift Card Deals

My fun activity on this rainy-sick-at-home day was calling around all the Target stores I haven't yet checked with to see if they had $25 Disney gift cards. I was ready to give up (several told me of others coming in and buying all of them), but I FINALLY found a location that said they had a bunch! :cool1: I told them I'd be right over and hopped in my car to drive the 17 miles there. And, sure enough, they were right:

I grabbed all the cards on the holiday rack by the registers, then headed over to electronics and took all of them off that display too (as you see). I had only planned to get 26, but decided to go with the 34 that added up to, as we will use them (I was only buying enough for Aulani in January, but we'll use the rest at Disneyland in February - I figure I have enough time to get post-Christmas Raise deals on the rest for that trip).

Two team members told me they were sure there were more in the various checkout lanes, but I stuck with what I had, not wanting to poke around anymore Targets. :rotfl: The checkout lady was awesome and actually closed her lane to concentrate on making sure she got all my gift cards right. In total, I got $850 in Disney cards, $85 in Target cards, and paid $811.75 with my Red Card. (I was expecting $807.50, but I quickly figured out that the Target gift card values were knocking down the discount, as mentioned in a few previous posts - still a great deal).

The cashier wished me happy travels, then I went over to Guest Service and they happily combined all my Target gift cards onto one. I'll use that towards a $100 Disney card on Target's website, so I can get the Red Card default discount.

I guess my afternoon activity will be combining all these Disney gift cards onto one. I did find that the first one has a number-cover that's easy to peel off, so hope they all are (I hate scratching that stuff off). Glad I stayed home sick from work one more day to get these important things done. (In case you didn't see my previous posts, I'm not playing sick, I am legitimately sick w/pneumonia ).

So relieved to have these in hand, finally. Thanks to this board for the heads-up on good deals. I'm not willing to go to the lengths that some of you are, but this very legitimate signed-in-store deal is right up my alley. (And using a new 3% cash back credit card + Raise post-holiday discounts + Target website for Disneyland cards should get us where we need to be for that trip). :thumbsup2

As of right now, Raise.com has some target cards for 4% off.

If you're a Swagbucks user, you can get an extra 1% back on purchases at Raise.

With a 1% rebate on credit card purchases, you could up your savings on Target cards to just under 6%. Then you could turn around and use them to buy Disney cards in store. Since the Red Card is only saving you 4.5% on this deal, you could stretch out a few extra bucks on a big purchase this way.

Whether it's worth the hassle is entirely up to you.

What are y'all doing with your Target Gift Cards you get from the Disney GC purchases? Attempting to buy more Disney Cards? I've got $300 in target cards and I'm trying to figure out the best strategy. Thinking if I can find more $25 GCs at Target then using the $300 to buy more Disney $$ and then getting a few more Target GC's to stash away.

That is probably confusing to follow lol.
I bought more gift cards with the gift cards.

I have checked 4 different Targets near me (I was already there) in the last 3 days and have had no luck finding the $25 gift cards. I don't think living 10 miles from Disneyland is in my favor in this situation :( We don't have to pay off our cruise until May so I have time to buy discounted Target gift cards and churn eBay/Target/Disney cards.

Topcashback is at 1% on target too. I use SB, but use other sites for shopping rebates.

Oo - Topcashback is 2% a Raise - even better.

How long have you used Topcashback? How quickly do they turn around your rebates?
I think it's 2% on most stuff but only 1% on target and Walmart. I've been using it since end of October (for Dick's and Pottery Barn gift cards from raise). It looks like it's payable in less than two months. I have one transaction from 10/24 that is payable and two others from November that say they should be payable in 5 weeks.

Thanks grow the tip on combining the Target gift cards! My local Target doesn't carry the $25, so I need to check another one, but they aren't nearby. One Target card would mean I could purchase a GC online!

I've been having issues with Raise via TCB. It never gives me credit for the purchase. :(

I've gotten credit for everything but not done any target gift cards (I buy those at Kroger). Doesn't it basically say if it doesn't credit you are out of luck? I thought I saw that and thought it was strange. Ebates is so good about crediting anything that slipped through the cracks.

I stopped using TCB earlier this year. I didn't get credit for about 75% of my orders and filing a claim was a joke. Claims took forever to process and most of the time I didn't even get the money. Even though Ebates may not always give the best percentages, their customer service is far superior.

You can submit a missing cash back request, but every time they give me the same aob story that the retailer says I clicked from somewhere else to their site.

Agree eBates is much better and I've told them that. I've lost several cash backs from them so have more or less stopped using them for fear I won't get reimbursed.

MyPoints is another option. If you are only buying GCs, eBates doesn't work, but I've gotten credit from MyPoints for the purchase.

I decided to head back to Target again today to buy out the last of the $25 cards that I found earlier in the week. There were $350 in the grocery section but none anywhere else we could find. We even had electronics take a look in their box of gift cards that hadn't been put out yet. DH also wanted more iTunes cards, so we got $90 worth of those as well. We went up to the register and the cashier was instantly mean, saying that there was a 4 gift card purchase limit per household and that I could only buy 2 of each card. It was less about what she said, but how she said it. I told her that I had purchased gift cards many times, including earlier in the week, and had never been restricted in the number I could purchase. Then the lady in line behind me asked if this was a written policy because she had also never heard of such a thing. The cashier didn't have an answer so she called the manager over and the manager said, "Yeah, she can buy all of those no problem." And then she begrudgingly rang me up.

DH said he thought she was taking it super personal and was instantly rude to us for no reason. Maybe the cashier wanted to purchase those extra 12 disney cards once I left?

I have tried using TopCashBack several times, but have never, ever gotten credit for the transaction. And certain retailers, like the gift card resellers, they won't even let you open a ticket if you don't get credit. I don't use TCB. I use eBates mainly, but also Mypoints or Swagbucks if eBates doesn't have a certain retailer.

I used TCB twice in October about a week apart when they were paying 1.1% on ebay purchases. At first the $5.50 amount for each purchase showed up but in the following three weeks it kept dropping until it reach $1.14 for one purchase and $1.11 for the other. I filed a missing cash back request and didn't hear anything for the longest time, other than an acknowledgement that they were researching my claim and it could take months to resolve. I read a large number of negative reviews about them so I pretty much wrote them off and decided to never use them again. Well last week I finally received an email that they adjusted my cash back to the original $5.50 per purchase. I immediately requested a payout to PayPal and it showed up early this week. I decided they weren't worth the trouble so I don't plan to use them in the future. Right now Ebates is paying 1% on ebay purchases in the gift cards and coupons category so I'll use that as long as it's available.

Good to know. I got credit on 3/3, but I may have gotten lucky.

At least I now know I'm not the only one! It's so incredibly frustrating. I get that if the retailer doesn't pay them they don't have the money to pay the buyer but something is wrong with their tracking mechanism and it just has gotten progressively worst.

I've heard others saying they had issues with their cashiers as well. Luckily the managers keep saying no problem.

Has anyone posted on TCB's FB page? Maybe social media is the way to go to get some kind of reaction from them!

I'm glad you got the cards and unfortunately the cashier was rude.

I wonder if its because it's the holiday season and she just needed a break. Or even if she had encountered a different rude customer who was purchasing the same or similiar GCs.
