... The clerk rang them up and my Red (debit) card wouldn't work

Spent over 20 minutes on hold with the 1-888 number since I knew there was more than enough funds in the account to cover the purchase, but they said I had exceeded my limit for the week (I never even knew I had a limit -- but I had purchased several $50.00 Disney cards at my local store Monday and yesterday). I gave up at that point and just had them put $200.00 of the cards on my Red (debit) card, which worked, and the rest on my Visa. The 1-888 Red card number said the "debit" card is not actually a "debit" card as the funds don't transfer right away. She said it can take up to 3 days for Target to receive the funds from my bank account. Once they have the funds (which came out of my account immediately) they will clear up more space on my card. She said it's basically like writing a check to Target and they have to wait for the funds to "clear".
