Disney Gift Card Deals

Asked a sales clerk & he walked me over to a rack in the last aisle of the DVD's - the closest aisle to the entrance door. There were 2 full racks of the $25 cards labelled with the "buy 2 - get $5. Target card.
Where I found the 3 in my store was the same location - closest aisle to the entrance door and filled with gift cards (unfortunately only a few $25 Disney, but two empty racks for them). Nearby were books and DVDs.

Yep, my store only has Disney $25's in two locations and this is one of the places. But it's been wiped out every time I check.

Now that I think about ....

I've been to a few stores and always found them on an endcap on one (and only one) register. They've always been in the same location on that display. At the arboretum, someone had placed a different card in front of them. Since they're always in that same spot I knew where to look, and there were quite a few behind that one random card.

Well, I went back to the Arboretum Target tonight (after totally striking out at the one near my house in Round Rock) and I couldn't find them. I looked EVERYWHERE. Every single aisle, back by electronics, on that cardboard thing they have near the registers. I asked a manager and she said that they don't carry $25 cards. I told her that they do right now for this promotion. She said that they NEVER have. She was adamant. I told her that someone bought some just last night and she effectively called you a liar. She asked another manager who insisted up and down there were no $25 gift cards in that store, nor had there been in recent memory and insisted she was the "front end and gift card manager." I told her that there's a slot (empty) for them on the cardboard thingie and she said "oh that's old." *sigh* An hour of my life I'll never get back. How frustrating. :(

I had an in-store pickup after work so I decided to check for a few more $25 cards. The inventory tracker told me there were 76 in the grocery section. I walked around the whole grocery section. There was one sidecap display with gcs but no Disney cards. When I was just about to give up I decided to walk through the paper products section. I wouldn't consider this grocery, but then I guess I was wrong because I found a stack of maybe 20 cards on another side cap. Seems there can be cards in all kinds of places and it varies by store too.

The store in Cedar Park on 1431 has, or at least had, some $25. They had 3 last night and I bought 2. They are in the book department, very near Christmas stuff. I think I have enough GCs for this trip, but if I get back in there I will try to see if they've been restocked.

Just want to report my happy dance moment. :yay: I actually had not even read this here about this new Target deal when I stumbled into it yesterday.

I have been buying Target cards mostly through Cardpool and also some through raise. To be honest, cardpool has ended up to be largely a nightmare with multiple orders canceled without explanation and physical gift cards that were ordered by mistake taking too long to come in. My payment was due TODAY. Due to all the craziness Cardpool has dragged me through, I had been unable to make my whole payment by purchasing discounted target GCs to buy Dis GCs online, and I found myself at target yesterday for the purpose of buying the remaining Disney gift cards I would need with the regular 5% discount on my redcard and a few hundred in physical GCs from Cardpool that I got stuck with that I needed to use. When we went to grab them we noticed the signage. Wheels started turning and of course we realized that we should get the $25 cards. There were none whatsoever of the 25s in the front by the registers, including on the large gift card display on one endcap. Also none in the display by the greeting cards. Not even a slot for them I don't think. Ventured back to the giant displays in electronics and hit the jackpot with the $25 cards. Purchased the 68, yes, 68, that we needed and it went off without a hitch at the register. At one point I think the guy started freaking out a little about the sheer number and called over his supervisor but she told him that if the register wasn't fussing it should be OK and it was fine, no issues with that. My hubby even figured it to where we rang them up in three or four separate transactions and rolled the gift cards that we were earning so that we only had one $5 gift card remaining at the end. Sure, you don't get the 5% discount when you use the gift cards but you have to use them sometime either on this purchase or on a future purchase so it all evens out. Unless you try to sell them and somehow come out ahead on that end I suppose. Ain't got time for that.

I feel so so blessed to have found so many, and there were still quite a few on the rack when I grabbed mine. Ours and my parents' payments are now COMPLETE!:cheer2::cool1:Hubby had to combine all the GCs for forever (this is what I was instructed to do when I called Disney this morning to make a payment with 68 gift cards :rotfl2:) but we saved a ton! Best of luck to everyone hoping and searching!!!

So quick question. You can purchase the 2/$25.00 GC and get the $5.00 GC. Can you turn around and use the 5.00 ones to purchase more?

Yes, you can. Some people have said that employees were telling them that you couldn't use the promotional $5 gift cards to buy other gift cards, but you can. I've done it, as have others on here.

I read the back of my promotional cards and it does say it excludes "prepaid cards" but the register will absolutely accept them (you may get an employee that says no). If you mean to use them in the same transaction I don't think they allow that. If they don't the cards are immediately active so you could go back through the line with additional cards using the promo ones to pay for them.

Or use the mobile website to combine them with a regular gift card. I had no problem using them to buy Disney gift cards this week though.

Yeah that's what I actually did-that's when I noticed that the promotional one had the extra exclusion listed on the back vs the one I had bought at my local grocery store during a gift card promotion-I looked because someone had said they were told they couldn't use the gift cards to buy more gift cards

Edited to add-can people who don't have a mobile site login still do this though? I have no problem doing it (I've had a mobile login for months) but I thought someone else said recently that they changed the mobile website and you can't combine gift cards anymore if you didn't have an old login using your mobile # prior to the website change.

You are correct. I have been looking into it a few times because I was also curious to see this new portal.

Correct. If you did not create a mobile login prior to the website change, it will not let you create one now and then there is no way to combine gift cards online. So, if I want to combine, I have to either buy a gift card online or go to the CS desk in the store.

yes you can buy the disney gift cards with the promo ones. I have one of the target gift cards you buy and I just take my stack of promo cards after check out to the service desk and have them put them all on that one. That way I don't have a stack of gift cards, I don't have a problem ordering disney gift cards online because of the 4 gift card limit and I don't ever run into the employee not allowing it.

Whats the easiest way to find something from Target to qualify for Ebates? I swear it takes an hour of clicking thru $5 and under items to find something that will ship. Every time I click on something it then says "shipping not available" once I click on it. I tried sorting by "online only" and that still doesn't work. Grrr. It is such a time waster.

My go to items are washcloths, dish cloths and hand towels. Some people order $1.99 placemats.

Socks, underwear, and placemats work. But last time I looked for socks I gave up because nothing was available to ship.

I usually go to baby clearance and then sort from lowest to highest. I then usually buy a teether, bib, or some other small item that is less than 3.00. I figure I can always throw them in a baby shower gift.
