Disney Gift Card Deals

I wish I had waited for the $100 ones to come online, but I had a $1000 Target gift card I didn't want to get drained. Off to enter 25 $50 Disney Cards into my DVA ...

Ha, yes, I have 80 $50 gift cards to put in a spreadsheet for our travel agent, because someone said the $100 are never in stock. Oh well!

$100 ones are buyable online, but limit 3 so really the $50 ones are a better deal since you can get 8. I guess the real benefit here is you can now order $700 worth of mixed in a single order. I'm pretty done now. Have to stop. It's addicting!

You can order 10 $50 gift cards per order.

I've been watching this thread. I'm so grateful for it. I saved so much. My DH is happy.

Quick question. I saw it on here, but can't find it. Can someone explain the SWA gift card ?

What is it that you're asking exactly? It's the same process as purchasing a Disney one. They sell $200 e-cards on Target. com. Just remember that you can only use 4 forms of payment in one transaction through Southwest. So if 4 gift cards don't cover the total, you'll have to use 3 cards plus a credit card. Some people will purchase separate flights (two one ways) to bypass that problem.

Ok. Thank you for clarifying that for me.

Let me see if I can explain this more clearly.

Any GC that you buy from one of the online discounters has the potential to be used by the original owner if they held onto the GC number and the pin code (or what Target calls the access code).

Even if you purchased a physical GC and have it in your hands, the owner can still make online purchases with that card if they have the GC # and access code.

For that reason, you want to "move" the funds on those cards to a GC of your own. Adding the GC from Raise (or cardcash, or cardpool, etc.) to your Target .com account is not going to protect you, since the original owner may still have all the info he needs to use those funds himself. You need to transfer the funds to another GC to protect the money. You do this by combining those GCs on a "safe" GC that only you have owned.

To combine Target GCs, you need the Target app for your mobile device. It will link you to the mobile target gift card website sign in page when you tap the my GiftCards link. You will want to add your "safe" Target GC first. Then your new GCs can be saved to the account and combined on the safe GC.

Please forgive me but, I've searched and read all manner of posts about combining gift cards on the Target Mobile App (including this one), but I'm missing something! I have the Target Mobile App and a safe, self-purchased gift card that I added to the app. I’ve also been “registering”/checking the balance on my purchased, discounted GCs on the Target Mobile app (as well as Target.com) as soon as they are received, but – for both - I only see available the option of “adding” a new gift card, but no option to "combine"…Each gift card I've entered appears individually, with a grand total at the bottom. Where is that magical little "combine" button on the App? Thank you - ALL - for your patience and assistance!

Well I went and bought another $300. Can't believe I have spent this much on this is the past few days. I had the money, in my Disney fund though.

Darn! None of our cards has the offer! That one is a major savings! I wish that at least one of our cards had it. According to one blog that I read, you can use it up to 5X per card.

I wonder why some people have the offer and some don't??? I have 3 Amex cards, and they all have it.

I figure the best savings is to walk into Walmart and purchase a $100 Walmart gift card (5 times). Then go online to Sams.com and buy the $150 pack for $142.98. I wonder if one of the rebate sites will work when buying with gift cards on Sams.com???

None of ours have it either. So tired of never getting the good deals. We get plenty of deals for places I've never heard of!

Which AmEx cards do you have, if you don't mind my asking?

Which AmEx cards do you have, if you don't mind my asking?

Amex Blue Preferred for the 6% back on groceries (which works when I buy gift cards at Kroger) up to $6K in grocery purchases. It also gives 3% back at stand alone gas stations, but we don't use that much since I get most of my gas at Kroger. There is a fee, but its still a great deal due to the grocery cash back.

Amex Blue Everyday - no fee - 3% back in groceries - a stepped down version of the Preferred. I use it after I hit the $6K in grocery purchases on the above card.

Amex Delta Skymiles Platinum - got this solely for the air miles promotion they offered. It was a ton of miles! I would have opted for the Gold version but I couldn't get the bonus miles on Gold since I've owned the card previously. I will probably close this card after we fly to Vancouver and take advantage of the zero fee for luggage. They do offer a yearly companion ticket, but since the fee is $195/year and we don't fly a ton, I'm not sure it will be worth it for us to keep. Nice that this card doesn't charge the foreign transaction exchange fee - hoping to use it while in Canada this summer.

That may be more explanation than you wanted - lol! Happy savings!

Thanks for the info! It was on one of my Amex cards!
Would it be a slightly better deal to buy Target gift cards and then use those online to buy the $100 Disney gift cards? Or am I missing something?
Thanks again!

I just started a thread on this because I hadn't seen your post, Jodie. I have this offer on my Blue Preferred Card. These Amex offers are the best!

Yes - you're right. Don't know why I didn't think of that. This is why I love these boards!

Although . . . I also have an Amex offer for Samsclub.com where if I spend $20, I get $20 back. So I will probably purchase at least 1 3 pack from Sams - paying with my $100 Walmart GC and the remaining $43 on my Amex Card so that I can get the free $20.

Thanks for the info. I knew I should have gotten the blue preferred at some point. It would be worth it for the extra rewards on Kroger purchases alone!
We have the Blue Sky and Costco cards, but neither of them have the offer on them. Hoping that our new JetBlue cards may have it on them when they arrive and I plug them in. I wish they would put the same offers on all of the cards. Our Costco cards are almost worthless. We have 50 offers available on our Blue Sky cards, but the Costco cards only have 15 offers.

I have three AmEx cards, the Blue Preferred, the Costco and the JetBlue. I was only offered it on the blue preferred. I really hoped the JetBlue card would have it since it carries an annual fee. I agree that the Costco card is very sparse on the offers. Still, occasionally I get a good one so I haven't closed the account. My son has the everyday card and didn't get the offer so I'm sharing my offer with him.
