I was able to successfully purchase five gift cards at cardcash, which I combined on my Target app (thanks Marionette), and then used to purchase three $100 Disney gift cards with Redcard discount. So $300 worth of gift cards for $256.29, a savings of 14.57%

I just added up the gift cards and savings I have for my upcoming October trip. I had a strict $1000 budget and thanks to this thread, I did very well.

I bought discounted Target gift cards to buy $300 worth of SWA gift cards to cover my flight and an additional $900 worth of Disney gift cards to cover hotel and food. I had $25 worth of Target gift cards that I got with purchase and used them too.
My total OOP cost for the $1100 in gift cards was $928.26...a savings of over 15%. That does not include the additional $18.56 that I am getting back in rebates from my credit card and shopping portals. My initial food/entertainment budget was a paltry $300, but now, I have $450 AND I still stayed under budget.

Will I get the redcard 5% if my Redcard is my default payment even if I am paying with all giftcards funds? If so, do I call to get the 5% redunded?

Update- Well I looked at my credit card statement and Card Cash hit me twice for 42.73. Both are pending so I am thinking one will fall off. Anyone else have this happen?

Just checked my statement and they did the same to me. Hoping it's just their normal way of business and not a mistake. I also bought from Raise this week and they only have one line on my statement.

This happened to me this morning when I was making a purchase. It threw an error on their website,saying that the charge did not go thru. So, thinking that I had entered the numbers incorrectly, I re-entered the CC numbers with the same result. I pulled out a second CC and it went thru.

Fast-forward to this afternoon and I get a phone call from CC#1's fraud division. There were 4 attempts to charge my card, so they froze it. I explained what had happened and checked CC#2 online while speaking with the representative for CC#1. Sure enough, CC#2 had 2 pending charges for the identical amount as the 4 attempts on CC#1. She advised me that the all but one of the pending charges will most likely fall off both cards, but that I should keep an eye on both cards over the next couple of days to make sure that cardcash doesn't double-dip by charging both cards for the same transaction.

Same here Can't beat $300 worth of GCs for $260 + 2% ebates cash back and 2% credit card rewards earn. That's a free Uh Oa at Trader Sam's right there! Plus the fact that it's only 3 gift cards and not 6. Very happy camper!

Yup, you get the 5% discount even if you pay the full amount with a gift card as long as you have your redcard loaded on your account. Not sure re: requesting the 5% post-order, it should automatically apply.

eBates/Target do not allow 2% when purchasing gift cards. It used to work for some, but I think the loophole has been closed. I miss that 2%!!

I received credit for a purchase on 5/27 that was part gift cards to be delivered and part an item I picked up in the store. I don't know if they'll reverse the gift card portion. Of course, that was only $200 worth of cards. My bigger purchases were not credited at all. I'll experiment with adding a non-gift card item on my next order after I finish loading my cards into my DVA.
