Disney Gift Card Deals

I'm sure it's stated somewhere in this ginormous thread, but I wanted to point out that Shopathome does a 110% guarantee on rebates. I'm learning how to do this gift card magic, and noticed that Target has 1% cashback on Shopathome right now, while Ebates has 2%. So by filling out that short little form on Shopathome, you can get 2.2% cashback.

Just wanted to add that I checked my husband's JetBlue Amex and he does not have the offer. So I guess it's not offered to everyone. I would've bought target gift cards with my card AND with his and that could've been 35% off of $1000 worth of Disney gift cards. Oh well, at least one of our cards has the deal. Thank you to whoever posted this! I never would've known about this if it wasn't for this board. <3

We were not offered the AMEX Target and Walmart offer either. If you would like to write AMEX to request the offer or ask why you were excluded you can address a letter to:
American Express Company, AMEX Tower C, World Financial Center, 200 Vesey St., NY, NY 10285. After the thousands of dollars spent on this card I feel the need to vent my frustration at not receiving the offer. Congrats to those that got it.

Sorry if this has been asked - can I still go into a Target store and buy Disney gift cards with my red card and get 5% off those gift cards? I was there over the weekend and saw they have plenty of $50 cards in stock. I need to purchase @$1600 worth and then I can turn around and apply them to my WDW payment. Just want to make sure if I go buy them that I can apply them - and that they will give me the 5% off!

Yes.

Yes, but buying the $100 cards might be more convenient for you.

This happened to me this morning when I was making a purchase. It threw an error on their website, saying that the charge did not go thru. So, thinking that I had entered the numbers incorrectly, I re-entered the CC numbers with the same result. I pulled out a second CC and it went thru.

Fast-forward to this afternoon and I get a phone call from CC#1's fraud division. There were 4 attempts to charge my card, so they froze it. I explained what had happened and checked CC#2 online while speaking with the representative for CC#1. Sure enough, CC#2 had 2 pending charges for the identical amount as the 4 attempts on CC#1. She advised me that the all but one of the pending charges will most likely fall off both cards, but that I should keep an eye on both cards over the next couple of days to make sure that cardcash doesn't double-dip by charging both cards for the same transaction.

Did you only end up getting charged once? I just bought off of Cardcash and the same exact thing happened to me! I need to buy a high dollar amount of target gift cards and I wanted to use the promo but I am not going to do it if it is going to be a pain to get my money back if I am double charged. I did a small order this time just to try it out.

Haven you actually gotten the 2.2% from Shopathome? The cash back guidelines would exclude gift cards, just wondering if it's actually working :thumbsup2

There are still 6!!!!! pending authorizations on card #1. Two were for 1¢, which was what triggered the freeze on my account. Then there are 4 for the denied transactions. This is essentially tying up over $1K in available credit because of CardCash's error. Good thing that I don't need it. I'd hate to think of what is happening to people who used debit cards.

Card #2 had a charge for the full amount go through and then there is still a pending authorization for the same amount.

I emailed CardCash about this on Sunday. I have not gotten a response from them. Very poor customer service, IMO. I probably will not use them again. Not worth the hassle when there are other websites to shop at.

My mom still needed a 6-day park hopper for our upcoming trip so I priced it out with this method. Typically, we buy them from UnderCoverTourist so I went there first. The price is $398.95. The cost from Disney is $414.29 so I figured $400 in Disney gift cards + $14.29 in cash. I went to TopCashBack.com (to earn 2%) and linked to Cardpool. I was able to buy Target gift cards ($379.97 worth) for only $347.65. I received them within 5 minutes! I already added them to my Target account and bought the $400 in Disney gift cards.

So, not including the rebate ($7.60!), the total cost of the 6-day park hopper will be only $361.97:cool1:...a savings of over $50!! When the gift cards arrive, I will add them to my DVA and use that to pay for my mom's ticket. That, in addition to the $650 for our hotel reservation will put me over the $1000 mark and I'll earn the $20 reward too:thumbsup2.

FWIW, I also had two charges for the same amount from CardCash showing as "pending". One of them fell off on the day that the other one went through. Hopefully it will all work out for you too.

I'm not too concerned about them charging card #1 in addition to card #2. The fraud department at card #1 is already aware of the problem and they reassured me that they will stand behind me in the event of a dispute. I have screenshots of my account showing all of my transactions with CardCash with dates and the amounts. And I have a detailed screenshot of the transaction in question showing that card #2 was to be charged for that amount.

The lack of a response from CardCash is more annoying. If they cannot respond to an email about a matter like this, I don't trust them to provide good customer service if I have a problem with a GC that I purchase. No amount of extra savings is worth the hassle. I'll stick with Raise. They've been awesome when I have a problem.

I also emailed cardcash Sunday night about a problem and have yet to receive a response. One of the target cards I bought had an invalid pin/access code # and was not able to be used to make my disney card purchase from target-I asked them to please refund me for the nonfunctional card and to please email me back to let me know it had been handled-still waiting.
If I don't hear by tomorrow I will call them and if they don't resolve it file a dispute with CC company-they already charged my credit card for it.
I wouldn't worry about the pending charges once the final charge was posted the additional pending charge fell off CC account

I get the frustration but often this is an oops that happens when we try to submit things more than once. They should fall off in 3 business days. The .01 happens all the time when I go to the gas station or if I try to submit an order online and I forgot to put my 3 digit code before submitting.

They probably reverse a number when entering the info. That happened to me with Gift Card Bin once. I have never used Card Cash so hopefully it will be a quick resolve. :)

Good luck calling. Their FB page has a number of angry posts from people who cannot get through.

I have the same issue with Cardcash. But, one payment actually went through and the other is still pending. Stilll though, it's $350 tied up. I made the purchase on Sunday.

CardCash sent each attempt through twice, including the 1¢ "test" authorization. Doing that triggered the fraud alert immediately. Completely their fault. Don't put the onus on me.

I know that I won't be on the hook for their mistake. My concern is more about their lack of customer service. If they cannot answer their phones and do not respond to emails, they are not going to get any more of my business.
