BAD NEWS for GS!!!

I went today and to get some eBay cards. I did this in Friday at this store no problem. The employee even remember me. Well went I try to pay with a GC the system wouldn't allow it. He was surprised he even told the other employees and everyone was very surprised. Because he remember me, what he did for me was we made a purchase he return it as "cash" and then he loaded the eBay GC and "paid" with that cash. Obviously this was a one time thing.

So it seems that unfortunately the loop was closed for GS. It was a physical GC.

Strange. I was successful over the weekend. Not only that, if you go to their "Game Cards" page on the website, it encourages using gift cards for purchasing them. Look at the bottom of this page:

Since the manager was so nice and converted everything into eBay I didn't try with anything else. The other employee was taken back an even said but I did that yesterday without and issue. Mine was Sunday. eBay was never on their site, but Amazon is (very similar). Just got my last $100 for GS from Cardency today. If there's an issue converting to eBay, I will grab a kindle and show the advertising on that page to hopefully get some satisfaction. I can get Sears through Prime, and have had luck there recently.

This has been happening to me too but only when I try to buy PPDG. I wish there was another approved seller for BB. PPDG is definitely playing with fire. Our trip is only 2 weeks away I just need to cash out a bit more.

CardCash on eBay did sell some discounted ones (5% I think) a few months back. I'm hoping those will come around again, but who knows.

It seems the changes are slowly working their way around the country. Now that the policy is in the system, I would be surprised if the change is not nationwide at this point.

Yep. Eastern KS stopped in April, Western MO stopped in late May and there has been quite a few people on here saying they no longer can do GS in the past week or so. I think it will be everyone soon.

Is anyone else having problems with the delivery of their Disney GC orders from Target?

I had one order before we left in May that arrived two whole weeks after its estimated delivery date because it bounced back and forth between Kansas City, MO and somewhere in Indianapolis 3 times! We were at WDW at the time, so I decided to take care of it after we arrived home, but thankfully it finally got here before we did.

Today I checked in on another GC ordered on June 28 with an estimated delivery of July 1. Considering there was no mail on the 3rd or 4th, I was expecting it today. Checked the tracking at it says to was in KCMO on the 1st (at which point it should have been sent to my neighborhood PO and delivered), but as of today is now in Iowa.

I'm not sure if this is a problem with the main receiving facility in KCMO or a problem with the labeling that Target puts on the packages, but this is the second time now and I have not had it happen with any other USPS mail. Just wondering if anyone else is having these issues with Target?

I just got back from Safeway. I had read that there is a Coinstar kiosk where you can sell your gift cards in the store. Yes, there is. I scanned one of my $100 GS gift cards and the kiosk offered me $57.00. Heck no! That is way too high of a percentage to pay. This is rediculous.

Double check on the Amazon availability. When I was in my local store last week (just prior to the crackdown) they had to pull all the Amazon off the shelf because they were no longer in the system.

I just logged on to ebates to buy Disney GCs at Target and I was shocked to get this message "Cash Back is currently unavailable at Target..." WHAAA?!?! I've never seen this before! Hopefully this is VERY short term since the ebates were getting paid on GC orders again...

Does anyone have Staples cards they don't want? There is a guy on ebay wanting to trade Best Buy cards for Staples cards. His auction is for $200 Best Buy starting at $300, but he says
"I'm looking to trade for staples (please do not bid/purchase this item for $300!) I actually have total $600 (5 x $100) bestbuy."
I'm not sure how long this will be up there, or how legal it is, since he posted his name and phone #.

I tried with plastic GC this morning and was a no go. So it seem slowly they are disabling the computers.

Has anyone traded a gift card in to Target? If so, what kind of percentage did you get? I am still trying to figure out what to do with my GS cards... I don't like the percentages in seeing from the online resellers.

Has your GS stores stopped accepting GCs for eBay only or all GCs? My local stores changed their policy sometime in the last two weeks and now won't allow GCs to buy eBay -- only cash, credit or debit -- but I can use GS GCs to buy most other GCs.

Giftcardgranny shows resellers will buy GS GCs at 83%. However, if your GS will still let you redeem your GC for a Shell or BP gas GC, I see giftcardgranny quoting 87% in cash for those. Take that cash, buy a discounted Target GC at Raise or Cardpool for 4.5-5% off, then pair it with the 5% REDCard discount to get close to your full value back in Disney GCs. Hopefully the eBucks and Ebates you've earned on the GS GCs will cover the 3-4% loss.

I love that GS's website says you can use GCs to purchase any of the GCs shown, including Shell. If the store gives you trouble, you could try showing them their own website!

Wow that stinks-hopefully they will start paying on eligible items again eve if gift cards are excluded-I really like getting an extra 2% off stuff I would buy anyway

Yeah I'm suspicious that they realized they were paying on everything so stopped paying temporarily to fix it.

Hmm.. I will check on that. I had tried to purchase eBay, but the cashiers said gift cards. I will take a look at some of the other cards and see if any will work.

I haven't been able to make it through the pages of recent posts, but I saw some major problems going on with people and PayPal accounts a few weeks ago. I'm not sure what PPDG is, but it has me all scared to even use PayPal! I'm not even trying to churn gift cards or even get discounts, but I have a few programs (like ibotta, receipt hog, and one of my survey sites) that use PayPal as a redemption option. All I want to do is redeem my rewards as PayPal money, then use PayPal as a method of payment to buy Disney GCs through Target. We are only talking $50-$100 here. Am I going to have any trouble doing that? I hate just requesting money transferred from PP into my bank account, because then DH just uses it for random bills or whatever instead of it going to our Disney fund!
