Kona was the best breakfast ever. Thanks for sharing.

We love Via Napoli, love the pizza and the ugly dessert.

Dinner

I started with a Tropical Cottontini (With Parrot Bay Coconut Rum and tropical fruit juices)...

I got to keep the souvenir shaker!

And here's a series of photos of it being poured and the cotton candy melting into the glass...

And then the FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD!

20151207_185952-1.jpg

My aunt ordered the Fire-Roasted Rotisserie Chicken: Half of a chicken, red skinned mashed potatoes, choice of a side (she chose the seasonal vegetables).

My uncle ordered the meatloaf that was recommended by our server. I don't see it anywhere on the menu though, so I'm wondering if this was some sort of special that night.

Mastadon Stuffed Chicken: with artichoke hearts, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, lemon butter, waffle fries, and seasonal vegetables.

And for dessert...

The Chocolate Extinction (for Four): Chocolate fudge cake, ice cream, whipped topping, fudge and caramel sauce, Butterfinger crumbs.

Ok, here are pics from our September trip. Sorry it's late. We didn't take pics at the buffets and forgot at most of the QS places.

Hoop Dee Doo Musical Review! Love this dinner show (we've done it four times!) and the food is good too. Salad with italian dressing: light starter to the meal which is nice and we all like the dressing which rarely ever happens in our family. Cornbread: anything besides "yum" isn't really necessary; DS could eat a loaf of this by himself and he won't eat it anywhere else. Fried chicken: crispy and not greasy, very moist. Ribs: smothered in bbq sauce (so messy it makes it better), loads of meat. Corn, Mashed potatoes and Baked beans: corn, mashed potatoes and ... we don't eat the baked beans, so I don't know about those. I can't believe I didn't get a picture of the Strawberry Shortcake, but I guess I didn't; it was very good and a light ending to the meal, moist cake and strawberries that weren't too sweet.

Akershus breakfast: Strawberries, doughnut hole, salami and Munster cheese. Strawberries, pineapple and cantaloupe. Strawberries, doughnut holes, a muffin and pineapple. Cinnamon roll, bagel, doughnut holes and croissant. Breakfast platter: Breakfast potatoes, eggs (cooked drier that usual), bacon and sausage: all was yummy.

My Disney Girl Perfectly Princess Tea Party: We love doing this tea party, though this was the last time DD1 can do it as she has aged out. Plenty of yummy food and the tea is wonderful too. Kids plate: Jelly sandwiches, ham and cheese sandwiches, fruit and apple tea (apple juice); DD at every bite ... including the mickey sprinkles! Adults plate: Here's the thing about the adult plate: I have never had the egg salad, shrimp salad and chicken salad because I have an intolerance for mayo; it's not an allergy, it won't kill me, I'll just be restricted to the hotel room for 2 days or so. Because of that, they always make me something different (it is noted on the reservation, so it's not a last minute change). This time I had jelly sandwiches, ham and cheese sandwiches and cucumber and watercress with cream cheese; they were all good, but I'm not big on cream cheese, so it wasn't my favorite. There was also cheese crackers and fruit. And the tea was Princess Breakfast Tea. When we did this tea four years ago, they gave me ham and cheese, cucumber and watercress (NO cream cheese) and something that seemed like marinated pears of some sort and was soooooo good. For dessert, I got this chocolate brownie raspberry dessert and it was really good; the brownie was chewy and the raspberries had just a touch of "sour" to them and were perfect for me since I don't usually go for really sweet things. The kids had a vanilla cake with strawberry filling and raspberry sauce on the side; some people complain that the cake is dry, but we thought it was perfect.

The price tag on this is high, but so worth the experience to us. Next time we take DD1, we're going to do the Afternoon Tea together.

Cinderella's Royal Table dinner: Pork Belly Confit - served with raspberry Habanero sauce, blistered tomatoes, micro cilantro, and radishe; it's not something he would usually try, but DH said it was good, there just wasn't enough of it and he ate it in two bites . Castle Salad - Mixed Greens with Seasonal Accompaniments; Really good, the apples and walnuts were a great addition to this and the dressing was very light. Mixed Greens Salad - with carrots, cucumber and tomatoes. Apple slices. Kids steak with subbed rice pilaf and corn; steak was cooked perfectly and they sis not hesitate to sub out the sides. Steak and Shrimp - grilled beef tenderloin and roasted shrimp with Heirloom tomatoes, Gouda mashed potatoes, roasted carrots, and caramelized onions; the Gouda mashed potatoes were subbed for plain mashed potatoes and the steak was cooked perfectly for all three of these meals (me, DH ans DD1) and I also had rice pilaf instead of the potatoes. Seasonal No Sugar Added Sorbet - garnished with berries, a no sugar added dessert; I always get the sorbet and it is always good, but there is usually a mix if berries. Our Signature Dessert - The Clock Strikes Twelve - white and dark chocolate in a tribute to the moment Cinderella lost her slipper; this was really good, but a bit sweet for my taste. I have no idea what this dessert was, but I do know we all had a taste and decided it was ... gross. Seasonal Cheesecake: DH liked it and said the strawberry drizzle added a bit of tart to it.

CRT didn't dissappoint.

Flame Tree BBQ: the menu (I always find these helpful for food descriptions and such, so I try to take pics). Fries: Nice and crunchy, very hot and just a touch of salt. Ribs and Chicken Combo - served with baked beans and jalapeno cornbread: we subbed carrots for the beans and had grapes for the dessert; the cornbread was ... not our slice of cornbread, but others may like it; the ribs and chicken were soooo good moist and full of flavor, definitely getting it next time. Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich - topped with pickle slaw and served with baked beans: No pickle slaw and we subbed the baked beans with grapes and added another bag of grapes for dessert; we always get this sandwich and have never regretted it ... it is seasoned nicely and though I could probably eat my half just as it is, I always add BBQ sauce cause ... well, I just love it.

WP_20150928_10_59_50_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20150928_11_07_15_Pro_opt(1).jpg WP_20150928_11_07_40_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20150928_11_08_00_Pro_opt.jpg

Teppan Edo: The menu; Garden Salad - Mixed greens, tomato and vegetables with your choice of our original ginger dressing or creamy sesame dressing; this has ginger dressing and their dressing is really yummy; Miso Soup - soy bean based soup with wakame green onion; this was just ok, not good, not bad, but probably won't get it again; Vegetables with udon noodles - These are always really good and the bean pods were cooked perfectly with a bit of crunch; Shrimp - these were very yummy; Steak - cooked perfectly and the pieces were pretty uniformly bite-sized.

Overall, we love this place lots of good food, especially for the price.

Be Our Guest lunch: Quinoa Salad - with chilled green beans, potatoes, olives, roasted bell peppers, golden beets and tomatoes with champagne vinaigrette: I get this entree because it comes with a little salad on the side; the quinoa is good as well, but as I've said before, I much prefer mine warm and this comes cold. Carved Turkey Sandwich - served on a warm baguette with Dijon mayonnaise and Pomme Frites: Our family gets this sandwich without the dijon mayo and it is still really good; moist turkey, crunchy baguette and crispy fries with just a bit of salt, just the way we like them. The Master's Cupcake - chocolate sponge cake topped with Lumiere's special grey stuff: Oh.My.Goodness. This cupcake is delish! I am not big on sweets, but I could eat a six pack of these.

We are loving this place so far! If they can keep up the quality, it'll be a go to for years.

WP_20150930_13_32_11_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20150930_13_32_20_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20150930_13_32_34_Pro_opt.jpg

Yachtsman Steakhouse dinner: Adult and Kids menus. Rolls: Although we each like different kinds, we all love the rolls of our choice (the pull-apart onion one is mucho yummy). Butter and roasted garlic: we don't use the garlic, but it looks really pretty :rolleyes1 Caesar Salad - Crisp Romaine, Parmigiano, Copa Secco, and Focaccia Croutons: nice presentation and the lemon was a nice touch; very fresh, light and tasty; most of the time, we ask for no dressing because we have a salad dressing issue in our house, so we bring our own in little dressing containers. Mixed Green Salad: crispy lettuce and just the right size for our kids, though they both liked our "fancy" salads better :D 8-oz Black Angus Filet Mignon - Mashed Potatoes, and Cabernet Wine Sauce: very good and the steak was cooked perfectly; DD1 didn't like the mashed potatoes very much, she said they were VERY bland. 12-oz Prime New York Strip Steak - Potato Gratin and Peppercorn-Brandy Sauce: Subbed fries, they were ok, not very crispy; steak was wonderful and cooked perfectly the first time. 8-oz Black Angus Filet Mignon - Mashed Potatoes, and Cabernet Wine Sauce: Subbed Potato Gratin and it was very yummy; steak was supposed to be Medium but was Well-done instead, so we sent it back and when it came out the second time, it was Medium-well, but I didn't want to spend the time to send it back again because everyone else was finished with their meals, it was still tasty, but not quite right. Kids Oak-grilled Steak Skewer - with Mashed Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables: potatoes were not a hit, but the steak was gone in about 2 seconds; carrots were very yummy as well.

I'll give my overall in the next post with the desserts.

WP_20150930_18_15_22_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20150930_18_15_50_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20150930_18_41_37_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20150930_18_41_45_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20150930_18_50_16_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20150930_18_50_27_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20150930_19_11_34_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20150930_19_11_42_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20150930_19_11_47_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20150930_19_12_04_Pro_opt.jpg

Yachtsman Steakhouse dessert: Menu. Kids Mickey Puzzle - White chocolate puzzle pieces with icing "paint" and chocolate chip cookies: the kids loved this as usual and spent more time playing with it than eating it, but it did give us a few minutes to enjoy our desserts. Seasonal Sorbet Trio - Coconut Tuile and Fairy Tale Celebration Cuvee: See a pattern with all the sorbet ... yes, it's my preferred dessert; these were nice and light as usual but I did not like the coconut one (purple), it was too coconutty; the orange one tasted a bit like mango and was very good while the yellow one had a bit of a lemony taste. Creme Brulee - Vanilla Custard, Fresh Berries, and Chocolate: this was a new one for DH and he LOVED it! He loved how creamy it was and the berries were very fresh.

Overall, the food was delicious as always and we will certainly go back. The downside was the service. Now, we expect this meal to take a while, but this night was just ridiculous. First of all, we were called 10 minutes early which was nice, but we waited 10 minutes before our server even came to the table to take our drink order. Once that was done, it took another 10 minutes to get our drinks and she couldn't take our order right then, she had to come back ... another 15 minutes later. So we've been at our table for 35 minutes and haven't placed our order yet. We finally placed our order and 10 minutes pass before she brings our bread basket, then another 20 before we get our salads. So it takes about 10 minutes to eat our salads and it is another 25 minutes before our entrees arrive. It took 1 hour and 40 minutes from the time we sat down until we received our meals; that is usually the the amount of time we are there for our entire meal. I had to send my steak back because it was way over cooked and it took 35 minutes to get it back. We ordered our desserts when she brought my steak back, hopping it would be quick. It took 25 minutes to get our desserts and about 10 minutes to eat them. So we were there for 3 hours and 10 minutes ... double the time we normally spend at dinner at Yachtsman. I'm guessing it was just an off night time wise and we will go back, but if it happens again, I'll definitely say something to the manager.

Whispering canyon Cafe lunch: Menu. Organic Mixed Greens Salad - with Washington State Apples, Candied Pecans, Rogue Blue Cheese, and Apple Cider Vinaigrette: no blue cheese; this was very good, fresh and light and the dressing was a nice compliment to the salad. Gold Rush Western Chips - with chili, cheese dip, and fresh salsa: DH said this was very good and a nice change from our usual appetizers. Slow-smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich - on a Brioche Roll with Cowboy-style Baked Beans, Barbecue Sauce, and Western Slaw, served with your choice of House-made Idaho Potato Chips, French Fries, Sweet Potato Fries, or Cucumber Salad: We love a good pulled pork sandwich and this definitely qualifies, the pork was moist and piled on pretty well; fries just the way we like them; we asked that the slaw and beans be left off, but they brought them anyway, not sure if they are good because we don't eat them. Apple-Caramel Pie - fresh Granny Smith Apples, Sugar Cookie Crust, Streusel Topping, and Caramel Drizzle: This dessert ... so delicious! Not my usual sorbet, but a must for next time. Warm and gooey with just enough bite from the apples and creaminess from the ice cream to make sure it isn't overly sweet (for me anyway). Whispering Canyon Campfire-style Chocolate Gooey Cake: Apparently this was really good because there was a lot of moaning going on and the bowl was emptied very quickly.

End result: we'll definitely go back. Portions are huge and we even split meals. Very yummy food. Our waiter wasn't much for playing the pranks that you normally hear about, but he did put DH on "jail" at one point.

WP_20151001_11_59_17_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151001_12_25_35_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151001_12_25_45_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151001_12_47_04_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151001_13_10_54_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151001_13_10_58_Pro_opt.jpg

Pecos Bill's Tall Tale Inn and Cafe dinner: Menu: just because. Churros - with chocolate sauce: These were pretty good, light and crispy. Chicken Burrito - with Cilantro Rice and Beans: no beans on this one. Big enough for two kids to split, but according to my kids ... inedible; even after adding cheese, salsa and sour cream, it was only marginally better and they only ate a couple of bites each. Chicken Fajita Platter - with Cilantro Rice, Beans, and Tortilla: no beans on this one either and DH said it was ... just ... not ... um ... we'll pick up something else later.

Overall: too gross to explain and we won't be going back here until the menu changes. It was a sad, sad day when they decided this was the way to go for the new food menu at a well loved favorite.

WP_20151001_18_27_10_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151001_18_49_07_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151001_18_49_32_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151001_18_52_10_Pro_opt.jpg

Ohana dinner: 'Ohana Welcome Bread: Very tasty as usual with just a hint of sweetness; love this bread. Magical Star Cocktail - X-Fusion Organic Mango and passion Fruit Liqueur, Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Pineapple Juice, and a souvenir Multicolored Glow Cube: One of our favorite drinks, though we find it funny that every restaurant serves them in different glasses; maybe one day, we'll take pictures of each of them and do a study of which glass makes it better :rolleyes1 Mixed Greens - with mushrooms, beans, tortilla strips: This was pretty good, better than the last salad anyway; they made me a separate one since I can't have fresh mushrooms. Honey Coriander Chicken Wings and Pork Fried Dumplings: The wings were so good and we prefer these to the chicken skewers they used to do. Egg Noodles - Tossed in a Teriyaki Sauce and Stir Fried Vegetables: the noodles were pretty good, but I was the only one to eat the veggies since it is mostly broccoli and the fam is ridiculous about their veggies. Sweet and Sour Pork Loin - Prepared over an oak fire, served on skewers: these were tasty and moist. Szechuan Sirloin Steak - Prepared over an oak fire, served on skewers: perfectly seasoned and cooked. Shrimp skewer. Spicy Grilled Peel-n-Eat Shrimp - Prepared over an oak fire, served on skewers: messy, but very yummy and the four of us emptied one skewer by ourselves. 'Ohana Bread Pudding - served a la mode with Bananas, vanilla ice cream and Caramel Sauce: this, of course, needs no introduction ... but I'll give it one anyway ... one of my top 5 deserts on property. So, so good and we have been known to spoon fight over the last bite.

Overall: we'll go back as we always do and enjoy the yummy goodness before rolling ourselves back to our room.

WP_20151002_18_48_23_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151002_19_02_17_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151002_19_04_14_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151002_19_17_45_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151002_19_23_15_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151002_19_27_18_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151002_19_29_02_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151002_19_31_15_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151002_19_32_40_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151002_19_50_21_Pro_opt.jpg

Narcoossee's dinner: Kids menu and both sides of the adult menu. Aunt Debby's Lovely Romaine Salad - crisp leaves of young Romaine, marinated half-dried tomatoes, shaved pecorino Romano, garlicky focaccia croutons, and creamy caesar dressing: very fresh lettuce and really tasty; we also brought our own dressing. Chopped Romaine Salad - with cucumber, tomatoes, carrots, ranch dressing, and goldfish crackers: the goldfish were a fun touch, DS really liked those. Crispy Fried Chicken Tenders - with Roasted Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables: breaded a bit differently than elsewhere on property, but DS said they were really good and the tater-tots were a nice change from fries. Grilled Filet Mignon with 7 oz. Butter-poached or Steamed Canadian Waters Lobster Tail - Boniato-Idaho potatoe mash, organic romano and yellow wax beans, with red wine-oxtail reduction: we had the steamed lobster tail and it was very good and came easily out of the shell; steaks were cooked perfectly and the reduction added just a bit more flavor to the steak; the potatoes were flavorful without being overwhelming.

Desserts to come ...

WP_20151003_18_05_36_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151003_18_05_48_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151003_18_05_59_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151003_18_29_42_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151003_18_29_58_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151003_19_00_31_Pro_opt.jpg WP_20151003_19_00_41_Pro_opt.jpg

Narcoossee's desserts: Menu. Nemo Cupcake: cute presentation and DS said it was good; he even ate the icing which is a major thing for him. Chocolate Torte, a no sugar added dessert - with Chocolate Crème and Raspberries: DH liked it ... it's chocolate after all. Chocolate Brownie Banana Split: DD1 enjoyed this, though she could only eat half. Mango Sorbet, a no sugar added dessert - with Melon, Pineapple, and Berries: I do love a good sorbet and this is a good one; honestly, three scoops is a bit much, so I don't think I've ever finished one of these desserts before.

In the end, we enjoyed this meal as much as we always do and will be back.
