The same experience my family had on my DH'so birthday. We will never go again.Yachtsman Steakhouse dessert: Menu. Kids Mickey Puzzle - White chocolate puzzle pieces with icing "paint" and chocolate chip cookies: the kids loved this as usual and spent more time playing with it than eating it, but it did give us a few minutes to enjoy our desserts. Seasonal Sorbet Trio - Coconut Tuile and Fairy Tale Celebration Cuvee: See a pattern with all the sorbet ... yes, it's my preferred dessert; these were nice and light as usual but I did not like the coconut one (purple), it was too coconutty; the orange one tasted a bit like mango and was very good while the yellow one had a bit of a lemony taste. Creme Brulee - Vanilla Custard, Fresh Berries, and Chocolate: this was a new one for DH and he LOVED it! He loved how creamy it was and the berries were very fresh.
Overall, the food was delicious as always and we will certainly go back. The downside was the service. Now, we expect this meal to take a while, but this night was just ridiculous. First of all, we were called 10 minutes early which was nice, but we waited 10 minutes before our server even came to the table to take our drink order. Once that was done, it took another 10 minutes to get our drinks and she couldn't take our order right then, she had to come back ... another 15 minutes later. So we've been at our table for 35 minutes and haven't placed our order yet. We finally placed our order and 10 minutes pass before she brings our bread basket, then another 20 before we get our salads. So it takes about 10 minutes to eat our salads and it is another 25 minutes before our entrees arrive. It took 1 hour and 40 minutes from the time we sat down until we received our meals; that is usually the the amount of time we are there for our entire meal. I had to send my steak back because it was way over cooked and it took 35 minutes to get it back. We ordered our desserts when she brought my steak back, hopping it would be quick. It took 25 minutes to get our desserts and about 10 minutes to eat them. So we were there for 3 hours and 10 minutes ... double the time we normally spend at dinner at Yachtsman. I'm guessing it was just an off night time wise and we will go back, but if it happens again, I'll definitely say something to the manager.
