Breakfast

20151209_082917-1.jpg

I'm not even sure I can recap all this at this point. Clockwise from top it looks like some sort of fritatta, breakfast lasagna, a Mickey waffle (I got REALLY into Mickey waffles during this trip), butter, puffed french toast, sausage link, bacon, some orange stuff, and maybe more bacon!

Gluten-Free waffles and donuts.

Dinner

20151209_202009-1.jpg

Grilled Strip Steak, with Garlic-Herb Butter and Pommes Frites and Seasonal Vegetables

20151209_202021-1.jpg

It looks like it's sense been changed a bit on the menu, so I can't cut and paste a description on this dish. They were the most delicious, perfectly-cooked medium-rare lamb chops, with some sort of mustard-based demi-glaze on the plate, and a cheesy polenta cake.

The Grey Stuff!

Loved the lamb at BOG last November. But the new polenta side . . . not so good. I also had a poor service experience for my first ever BOG dinner. Waited 50 mins on the bridge to be called after I checked in and when I approached the podium asking about the delay, was told since you are a single diner, you won't mind the wait and that we chose to seat couples first. :sad2: Poor crew working that night. Prob my worst single dining experience at WDW in years. Needless to say, I changed up my BOG dinner ressie for later that week to Sanaa. A few days later, I was at BOG for lunch and mentioned my nasty dinner experience to a CM clearing tables nearby. She had asked me if I had enjoyed eating at BOG before. She grabbed the manager and a few mins later, I had an apology and was set up with a trump FP for any ride in MK. I didn't ask for it but it was a pleasant gesture. It came in really handy for POC since it was down with water issues so often that week. I think BOG tries hard and given the volume and demand, there are bound to be some bad bounces. There are also some serious host issues to be sorted out. However, glad you had a much better dining experience!

Lunch

Pot Roast Mac & Cheese

Looks like they've changed the cup it used to be served in to a plate now. I wonder if that means it's less of a portion? I haven't tried it yet but I've read that it's pretty filling for one person & really good! :)

I completely agree! I absolutely loved the lamb! The polenta cake?... Not so much.

Oh, it's still a HUGE portion. It's still a bowl, just a flatter, wider one! They pile it FULL!

Being a solo traveler that really makes me angry on your behalf. I can't even imagine how I would react if someone said that to me. I'm sorry you had to put up with that.

Thanks for that. First time it was ever that in my face. Very young host staff at the podium and no obvious manager or supervisor around. Lots of giggling and weekend stories being loudly discussed amongst the hosts while guests were backed up and sitting on the sides of the bridge. One of those lets see who can be most obnoxious to the sheep/guests that night. o_O Bad form. ps sorry to highjack your incredible food pics OP!

10 oz. Grilled Kobe Beef Burger, but with no bun or slaw, and subbed in rice for the fries that usually come with it.

Sweet and Sour Chicken: Tempura chicken or pork, ginger, garlic, bell peppers, pineapple.

Kona Cafe, Dec 2015

Plain ol' pancakes, ha! DH says they're the best though

image.jpeg

The somoan, while it was delicious, I eat very little meat and could have been okay with less pork. I am contemplating asking for it without next time

San Angel Inn, Dec 2015

Complimentary chips and salsa

Classic margarita

Pollo A Las Rajas - grilled chicken breast served with red peppers and onion cream sauce, poblano rice, and queso fresco; Gluten-free $25

image.jpeg

They do have a vegetarian menu if you ask but it was very small. I just went with two appetizers:

Tacos de Vegetales - flour tortillas with sauteed mushroom, corn, onions, zucchini, garlic, rajas poblanas and goat cheese $11, these were DELICIOUS!!
image.jpeg

Sopa Azteca. Not sure if the broth is Vege based, I didn't ask. This was very good too!
image.jpeg

Caramel shop in Germany- caramel covered apple with peanuts. Delicious but I prefer the white chocolate covered one they have in other shops. But I did enjoy this one too.

DH got the Troll Horn - cloudberry jam with whipped cream in a crispy pastry sugar-coated shell $3.79 from Kringla Bakeri in Norway and was very disappointed. The tip of the cone was just bread, no cream or jam. In fact, there was very little jam overall. I felt bad for him so I shared my apple. After we finished the (my!) apple he wanted to go back for another! I should have let him but Illuminations was about to start, ha!

Whispering Canyon Cafe, Dec 2015

White Cheddar Grits and Eggs - with house-smoked pulled pork, garden chard, and two eggs-any style $12.99, those are scrambled
image.jpeg

Okay, this, my friends, is a SIDE of biscuits and gravy! The server misunderstood DH and brought him the above and the below. Something got lost in our conversation. He wanted the below and thought she said she could sub the pork in the above for it, which I think she did at one point. But I think in their exchange she got confused and brought both. (We were charged for both but just let it go.) Anyway, after seeing the portion, he said he could have just had the eggs and side of biscuits and gravy!
image.jpeg

I ordered the cheddar grits like DH but asked for no pork and more chard and grits, which they did with no problem. I got poached eggs and put them on top of the grits. Very tasty! And yes, I enjoy pepper, a lot!

Restaurant Marrakesh, Candlelight Dinner Package

Food was good, nothing spectacular. One and done for us.

Goat Cheese with Crispy Bread for Two - mixture of cheese and kalamata olives served with Tabouleh, red pepper sauce and balsamic vinegar reduction $14.99 - pretty good. A little too much of the same thing

image.jpeg

Shish Kebab - grilled tenderloin of beef with mixed vegetables yellow rice, he liked it
image.jpeg

Mogador Fish Tagine - marinated fish with olives, lemon confit, potatoes, green peppers, and chermula sauce $27.99, very good. (I eat fish way more often than other meat)
image.jpeg

We both got the Moroccan Symphony - Assorted Moroccan baklavas $6.99, I love baklava and we both enjoyed this.
image.jpeg

Wolfgang Puck Express, Dec 2015

Cornflake crusted French toast, DH loved this. I'm not much for sweet breakfasts but thought this was great! I might even would get this if we went back, I just wouldn't use the syrup. It was plenty sweet on its own.

image.jpeg

Breakfast pizza, I should have requested no bacon (not sure if they can). It was pretty good but I probably wouldn't get it again. The server suggested I try it with hot sauce and that was genius. I fell in love with the brand Cholula via this encounter too!
image.jpeg

Raglan Road, Dec 2015

Not our first time but this experience was especially great!

Hail Caesar - mixed Romaine and kale with pancetta crisps, grape tomatoes, croutons and shaved pecorino.
image.jpeg

This was just a simple side salad with a vinegerette dressing
image.jpeg

Fish and Chips - Our famous beer battered fish & chips served with our fresh tartar sauce. Gluten-free option available $20, DH's favorite on property
image.jpeg

He mentioned to the server that he was contemplating subbing fries for the onion rings. In the end he chose the fries. When the food was brought though the server simply placed these babies on the table without a word! It was a great treat and they were so good!
image.jpeg

Portobello Beauty - Portobello mushroom cap sandwich filled with Dubliner cheese, zucchini & tomato chutney $15. Wow, this was good! I got the colcannon potatoes as my side. They were so tasty. Word to vegetarians though, they contain ham, which I didn't realize until they were served.
