I'm a big onions at breakfast person.

Scrambled eggs with chorizo and onions...Mmmmm.....Onion, red and green bell peppers and cheddar omelette...yummm.....I can go on and on...

Now that being said...I can;t see myself just chomping on some raw red onions in the morning, unless of course I want to annoy the DP with oniony smooches for a few hours. :thumbsup2

Ah yes......frittata with onion, quiche with onions, various omelets with onion....I agree the onion is a key ingredient in many wonderful breakfast items, and I also agree that chomping on a raw onion in the morning would limit your immediate circle of friends. :scared: I just have not seen raw red onion out on a breakfast buffet before and that image struck me as odd.

I agree with the oddness....I think it's a significant other deterant!

"Raw onions in the morning....the Anti-Viagra"

We'll be getting spam emails, seeing odd commercials, the whole nine yards ;)

FYI, it's VERY easy to make this at home. I have the official recipe, if you're interested. Takes all of 10 min to make. I store it in a pitcher in the fridge and eat it for about a week. :)

Thanks for the soup recipe. I just got back from BJ's with a big huge box of strawberries (I think like 5 or 500 lbs..) What was I thinking? :confused3 Now I know what I can do with them...

Anyway...here's a post of an extremely tasty creme brule from Le Chefs de France

Tonga Toast looks AMAZING! I had something kind of similar at the Rainforest Cafe' however sadly I have developed a banana allergy and won't get to try Tonga Toast, I wonder if they can serve it with another type of fruit inside.

I'm certain they can accommodate you. They are wonderful with food allergies. Now if they could only make it without the eggs then I could try it.

How did you find out about your banana allergy? Is it because of Beech or is it Berchwood? Or are you also allergic to latex? I'm wondering because I think I have also recently developed a banana allergy but I think it is due to the wood allergy.

I found out by process of elimination. I use to be a vegan and ate 2 or more a day for months on end however when I ended that phase of my life I didn't really eat them anymore until about a month ago when I went on a very low fat diet. Each time I would have one my mouth would feel strange and within 5-10 minutes I was sick to my stomach, crampy, etc and it lots of pain. Each time I would eat one same thing...now it's so bad that if I have anything that has a trace amount I'm sick. I'm now sure what it's related to but I'm going to see a DR soon about it to make sure it's not anaphalicitc (sp).

What about substituting apples in the Tonga Toast? I was thinking of the kind that would be in apple pie filling but wonder if fresh sliced ones would work just as well and not be as mushy.

MMMM! That would be one amazing breakfast apple pie. Which, unfortunately I might find it okay to have apple pie for breakfast, and that would be bad... :rotfl2:

Here is my last pic of Chefs de France....Soupe a l'oignon gratinee

The Tonga Toast has a relatively short cooking time (watched them cook it at Captain Cooks) so I do not think the apples would get fully cooked. Another thing about Tonga Toast, I don't know if they can make another filling for it. The chef at CC was pulling it from a bag (looked like frozen product) and put it directly into the deep fryer. It is possible all the Tonga Toast is produced in a central location and distributed like many other food products at WDW. Many times the things we eat at WDW are made in centralized production kitchens on property then distributed to the proper venue.

:thumbsup2

No I guess that wouldnt work would it. I was trying to think of a substitute for the person with the banana allergy. Guess you can tell I dont do much cooking.

They could cook the apples before putting it in the toast. There's a term for it, par cooked or something?

Maybe if they used pre-cooked apples, like pie filling... What do you think?

Well, maybe if the op asks the person asks a few days ahead of time, they can make a special one. I know they are really good at taking allergies into account. (And, I don't cook much either! :))

Yes they did serve onions at breakfast and I didn't find it too weird, but we ate at almost lunchtime so it was more of a lunch to us than a breakfast :goodvibes Anyway here's my pictures for today!

And just so you know, that thread has been locked and this one was started so the food porn people could continue with the discussion and add new photos. This thread will be closed once it reaches the size limit and we will have to start another........by the way, I didn't see any images in your post, it was all talk. ;)
