Disney Files - Member feedback fuels resort enhancement

I wouldn't hold your breath on that. They are not going to do them all at once, they can probably only afford to take 1 out of service at a time with current reservations. When a project is announced, it can take months before they even start. They need to design it, hire contractors, etc.

But anything that is not yet sold to members could be renovated and then swapped with member inventory.

Did you get your Files today, mine has not come, but I knew about the enchancements.

Not sure how they are paid for, same with SSR's new pool.

I would assume that the SSR pool may be paid for in a similar fashion to the OKW slide. Construction paid by the developer, maintenance and any lifeguard required throguh dues.

The BLT improvements could be from the developer, the maintenance funds, or maybe dues, as overall they are not a very costly items. The most expensive would be the sink changes.

I thought the SSR pool was being paid out of the member's portion of an improvements fund (thus the announcement during last years member meeting) I think there were extra funds since the buildings are holding up very well.
As an owner I welcome the improvements, especially the dining portion.

The current pool and dining options (or lack there of ;)) combined with the distance of the outlying buildings to the main area were the reasons we sold our SSR. Adding a good pool and restaurant remove 2 of the negatives in my mind. Good decision IMHO.

The reserve fund really isn't an "improvement" fund. The reserve funds are supposed to be used for major rehabs, and to repair damages. If the original pool was damaged and in need of repair, then yes, they would likely use funds. If it is simply an aesthetic redesign, I'm not sure reserve funds could legally be used for that without some sort of member vote. Just as DVC tested the waters of OKW owners, asking if they wanted the main pool improved at out expense. When a straw poll showed an overwhelming percentage of OKW owners did not want a dues increase to pay for that, the "developer" funded it, with OKW dues for continuing maintenance and adding a life guard. Reserve funds were not used for the OKW slide. Just as SSR reserve funds should not be used if it is simply an "improvement" versus needed maintenance.

That was the first thing I commented on when we toured the model. I have commented on it a couple times here on the boards. It really doesn't take a genius to realize that hair, hairspray, cologne, etc does not mix with bagels and cream cheese!:confused3

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Just read the tidbit in DFiles. Glad they are gonna do something. Kudos to Sonya Deese-Byrnes GM of DVC Resorts who seems to be stepping up to all the feedback even if it is long overdue. Could this be a future DVC Pres that people have been waiting for?? :confused3

I wish. :thumbsup2

Glad to see they're going to fix this...that was one reason I didn't think we'd ever stay at BLT...now if only they could make the studios a little bigger.

Meanwhile...we still have not received our copy of DisneyFiles.:headache: I guess it goes the same route as the annual planner. :confused3

Don't give up hope - finally got ours yesterday!

I'm really curious how they're going to flip that vanity and wall around.

bet we will lost most of the counter space and underneath storing.

they will probably but a smaller sink and just something underneath it.

now if this makes more room in the ktichen great - but if it doesn't.

Mine came last week, not sure what day because I was out of town.

I wish they would have been more attentive to the member feedback about the elevator situation at BWV. It was brought up at a member meeting I attended in 2000 but all they said was they will keep it in mind for future resorts. :headache:
