DISNEY DREAMING! A Nov/Dec 2010 PTR *12/9 ~ Hello Again!

Thanks for the PJ picture! Those are too cute. I picked up some shorter sleeved PJs in the toy story characters for Gavin but now I am wondering if I shouldn't get a pair or 2 of the long sleeved. Hmmmm.... Are those the ones from the Disney store?

Your day sounds awesome. I keep saying we are taking a resort day, but so far I don't have it scheduled! :rotfl:

They're a lighter fabric and tho full arm lengths, you're not too hot in them. Yes they're from the Disney store and were on sale recently when you bought two pairs. He picked out a Cars one... kinda looks like something one of the pit crew guys would wear.

Day five plans sound great! Is Wolf Gang Puke Cafe on the DTD??? I have been wanting to try there...

Excited to hear about your Day 6 plans b/c that is the day we arrive!!! :cool1:

P.S. That ice cream looks yummy! I was actually crazing ice cream yesterday afternoon and seriously ate 3 mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches!!! :rotfl: Felt like a load after eating them but man were they good!!! :rotfl:

Woo hoo for another movie night! I think we've only seen Bolt once! It's a really cute movie though! Those ice cream choices look so yummy! I'm with you, I want to share with Alex!!! YUMMY!

Your DTD day sound wonderful! Your right though, in Dec in might be warm enough to swim, it might not!

I like the mini golf idea! What about mini golf and the arcade at the resort for a little while.

You could also do a little resort hopping! Maybe go over to Boardwalk, explore the Boardwalk, go see the decorations and then head over to Yacht and Beach Club! I can't remember if you have resort hopping in your schedule!

No matter what, a down day is a fabulous thing!

Yay for Bolt! We haven't seen that one yet so I showed the picture in your update to Zach. Last night we were watching a movie & I gave Zach three choices, Peter Pan, Mary Poppins (both of which he said were too girly) & Ratatouille. He chose Robots! :headache: I caved in but told him next time it will be Ratatouille. But now that we've been reminded about Bolt - that may be our next movie night choice! :thumbsup2

Funny... As I was reading your update, I was thinking you should send Alex & Kathryn to Disney Quest! Then you said it! Anyways... I can see how Demitri would be disappointed though... Mini-golf could definitely be fun! Not sure how long it takes though... it's been a while since DH & I went. One of my DIS friends, DisneyCrafter, is probably going mini-golfing in October. I could ask her to keep track & find out when she gets back if you want.

Loving your day 5 plans!!

I have to agree with you WPCafe is an amazing restaurant and I really enjoyed my meal there last October!!!

What a cute movie night, I'm so going to do those as a family someday when we have a family LOL!

Arribas Brothers
This is the “walk extremely carefully” shop. :rotfl:

Looks to me like a "Not taking my kids anywhere near this place" store to me.:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Looks like a fun movie night! I love Bolt too. It is really cute. :thumbsup2

OMGoodness, Rolo ice cream?! Why don't we have that here?

Mmm, Ghirardelli. So good. You will love it there.

How cute are those PJ's :cutie:

Loving your DTD Day :thumbsup2 and good idea to compromise with Mini Golf, which one have you decided on?

Great plans! I never schedule a full resort day, only half ones cause the kids and I would go nuts :scared1:

I have a couple early nights for this trip and one late start so we can check out the resort

Wolf Gang Puke? Too funny. All of the Wolfgang Puck's in DTD are under the dining plan -- we've never been to the express counter service, although when I tell George about it he'll likely want to try it out, lol.

Mmmmm, mint chocolate chip ice cream. Ok seriously I'm taking the kids to Baskin Robbins today.... yummmmmm!

Rolo ice cream is soooo good. The ice cream on its own is really good, but throw in those little baby Rolo pieces and it's delicious!!

From what I'm hearing, the water for swimming will be warm enough, but I don't like it when the air is cooler :cold:

If there's no swimming, I'm liking the arcade while doing laundry and then shooing the three kids off to mini golf while we head over to DTD. They can golf to their hearts content whilst we shop and as long as we all meet back up for Wolfgang Puck's at the latest, I'll be happy.

I did originally have today down as more resort hopping too, but I'm not sure it'll work out. Really, the only resort that I want to see that I don't have covered with an ADR is the Contemporary. I was going over a bunch of options but we can always swing over on an MK day for a break if we want.

I have the Boardwalk area covered in another day!!! :yay:

Robots! I haven't seen that, how is it? Definately consider Bolt for your next movie night.... it's very funny and sweet too. :cloud9:

Sure! That would be helpful. If the kids are done before we hit our first store that would defeat the whole purpose.

I think I told this story in my TR but when we were considering WPC as a walk in there was a, now how can I say this nicely.... a moderately intoxicated woman outside the doors having a smoking break. She saw us looking at the menu and just raved about her meal waiting for her back at her table. Oddly enough that helped convince us to try it out -- yay drunk lady!!

Looks to me like a "Not taking my kids anywhere near this place" store to me.:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

:lmao: I think last year was the first year we actually went in here instead of running past. Followers of my TR might remember Ariana got a glass slipper from here --- and she still has it! And it's still in one piece!!!

Rolo ice cream is yummmmmy. I love the Rolo popsicles too. :cloud9: I still don't understand why I've never been to Ghirardelli. :confused3

Loving your DTD Day :thumbsup2 and good idea to compromise with Mini Golf, which one have you decided on?

When I was thinking mini golf, I thought the Winter Summerland course would be better. It's close to Pop and looked fun when we saw it outside Blizzard Beach.

How cute is this write up on it?

Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course
Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course is a miniature, elf–sized golf course consisting of 2 Santa Claus–themed courses: the Snow Course and the Sand Course. Although subject to change, prices are $12.00 USD per 18–hole round for adults, and $10.00 USD for children 3 to 9 years of age.

Late one moonlit Christmas Eve, as Santa was flying over Florida on his way back to the North Pole, he glanced down and discovered snow in a place that is usually hot. After surveying the strange location, he decided to build a vacation destination for his off-duty elves—a Winter Summerland.

Seeing that the only thing Winter Summerland lacked was a golf course, the Santa Claus and his elves divided into two camps, one that enjoyed the warm Florida sun and another that preferred the snow and cold of the North Pole. The elves then built two distinctly different 18–hole golf experiences — a sand course and a snow course.

Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course—Winter Course: The Snow Course invites you to participate in 18–holes of challenging fun — which, in addition to Santa and his elves, includes some of your favorite Disney Characters — as you putt your way to the North Hole. Additionally, watch out for Squirty the Snowman: he sprays water when golf balls pass beneath him.

Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course—Summer Course: The Sand Course promises fun in the sun for everyone, compliments of a delightful beach theme with sandcastles, surfboards and ornaments hanging from palm trees. Delightfully themed holes include a sleepy Santa buried beneath a large sand mound and a giant sand castle.

After sinking the last putt on Hole 18, receive a special greeting from Santa Claus, thanks to the WinterNet and a computer.

Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Gold Course also features Santa's "Winterbago," a converted trailer home to the starter booth, gift shop and snack stand.

Our resort days have worked out well and are usually three quarter days. :rotfl: Our first scheduled one we ended up doing a walk in at the Coral Reef for dinner and last year we finished the day playing Toy Story Mania and watching Fantasmic. Planned spontaneity! :thumbsup2

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: I'm such an idiot!!! It was early LOL!!! But hey you knew what I meant! We have ate at Wolfgang Puck Express a few times and it is awesome!!! We will definitely be eating there in Dec.

I really do like all of the options presented on Day 5! I like days that have plenty of options for keeping the troops happy. My thought on DisneyQuest is, does Dimitri need to know that the big kids are headed there? Can the tickets be purchased in secret? ;) Another idea could be resort hopping and getting a Christmasy treat in each of them? Is that really shopping?

We love Bolt here too. My only reccommendation is not to watch it for the first time 3 days after your dog has passed away. Ryan and I bawled through the middle of the movie.

That is a cute write up on it and it is defo the perfect course for your trip being that you are in close proximity and it is a Christmas theme :)

Thanks, now I have to go in the store.:lmao:

nice day 5 plans and the movie pictures!!!! I think the mini golf/disney quest would be a great way to pass the time!

Hi Tracy...

love a rest day too...and can understand the debate of resort time w/ no swimming...

a teenage girl who doesn't like to shop...:confused3 :rotfl:

If Alex and Kathryn wouldn't mind having Demitri...that may be a good choice...but my only thought w/ the mini golf vs DQ is travel and approximitely to you and George...

My kids are not old enough yet to be w/out us at Disney let alone at a whole other area... hope I'm not freaking you out

and really 50% off mini golf w/ AP's...why didn't I know this...that's better than DVC...hmmm

oh almost forgot...Matt gave me a Cinderella glass slipper on our Wedding night

We like Bolt too. LOVE the pj's, too cute.

I think your plans sound great, kinda relaxed, throw in some mini golf, hold for drooling moment Ghiradelli, yummo (I know that is a stop we will have to make on our trip for sure...or maybe a little adult only indulgence on our January trip ;))

Anyhoo, I'm also glad you brought up getting an AP, will have to pm you or email you to discuss this more, as I was also considering getting one due to the January trip.

I can't believe a teenage girl doesn't like shopping:scared1: wow. But I think Disney shopping is different than back to school shopping ...

I think your plans sound GREAT!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
