DISNEY DREAMING! A Nov/Dec 2010 PTR *12/9 ~ Hello Again!

:lmao: I'm such an idiot!!! It was early LOL!!! But hey you knew what I meant! We have ate at Wolfgang Puck Express a few times and it is awesome!!! We will definitely be eating there in Dec.

:rotfl:

I really do like all of the options presented on Day 5! I like days that have plenty of options for keeping the troops happy. My thought on DisneyQuest is, does Dimitri need to know that the big kids are headed there? Can the tickets be purchased in secret? Another idea could be resort hopping and getting a Christmasy treat in each of them? Is that really shopping?

We love Bolt here too. My only reccommendation is not to watch it for the first time 3 days after your dog has passed away. Ryan and I bawled through the middle of the movie.

Free choice days work out well ... I like "troops". Demetri would instantly figure out they were going to DisneyQuest, it was one of his favorites on our last trip. I pretty much have the resort hopping taken care of with our variety of ADRs but I really like your Christmas treat from each of them suggestion.

Ohhhh, I'm so sorry you watched Bolt under such sad circumstances! :sad1: You're not reminded of it each time you watch it I hope?

That is a cute write up on it and it is defo the perfect course for your trip being that you are in close proximity and it is a Christmas theme

That's what I think too. It works out great! :santa:

Thanks, now I have to go in the store.:lmao:

:rotfl2: Sorry!

I was thinking the same thing... Eryka would love that!!!

I have never been to DQ and I am not planning on telling the kids it even exists, I would be bored out of my mind in there

They're great souveniers. :thumbsup2 I wasn't sure what to expect with DisneyQuest when we went for the first time last year but we really did have a lot of fun. I ROCK at Donkey Kong! :rotfl:

nice day 5 plans and the movie pictures!!!! I think the mini golf/disney quest would be a great way to pass the time!

I think I sold myself on the mini golf. Now I just have to make sure Kathryn doesn't hate it....

Hi Tracy...

love a rest day too...and can understand the debate of resort time w/ no swimming...

a teenage girl who doesn't like to shop...:confused3 :rotfl:

I know!

If Alex and Kathryn wouldn't mind having Demitri...that may be a good choice...but my only thought w/ the mini golf vs DQ is travel and approximitely to you and George...

My kids are not old enough yet to be w/out us at Disney let alone at a whole other area... hope I'm not freaking you out

Not at all... I gave Alex a bit of freedom to DisneyQuest on his own last trip and it worked out really well. He takes Demetri on day trips here at home too and Demetri listens to him, holds Alex's hand, the whole bit. Alex is so mature and responsible, you'd have to meet him to really understand but I trust him completely.

and really 50% off mini golf w/ AP's...why didn't I know this...that's better than DVC...hmmm

It's a great deal! :thumbsup2

oh almost forgot...Matt gave me a Cinderella glass slipper on our Wedding night

Such a sweet gift! :cloud9:

We like Bolt too. LOVE the pj's, too cute.

I think your plans sound great, kinda relaxed, throw in some mini golf, hold for drooling moment Ghiradelli, yummo (I know that is a stop we will have to make on our trip for sure...or maybe a little adult only indulgence on our January trip ;))

Anyhoo, I'm also glad you brought up getting an AP, will have to pm you or email you to discuss this more, as I was also considering getting one due to the January trip.

I can't believe a teenage girl doesn't like shopping:scared1: wow. But I think Disney shopping is different than back to school shopping ...

I think your plans sound GREAT!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Mmmmm, if we don't make it to that chocolately goodness in Nov/Dec we will definately have to add it to our food list for January! :lovestruc

Shoot me a PM or email (if you haven't already, haven't checked yet tonite) about the AP, it was cheaper to go that route and of course you get the perks too. :thumbsup2

In the end, Kathryn might just very well say she is fine with Disney shopping and will want some souveniers, but I think the mini golf, at least one round anyway, will be enough so that she doesn't bottom out before dinner.

Hi everyone! Just a quick update about tonite's movie night. It was Alex's choice and when we couldn't find our DVD for Pirates of the Caribbean  , he went with his next choice of ......

2010_0907Misc0008.jpg

I was really surprised he chose this actually but I'm very glad he did. We haven't watched this movie in ages and it really is a good movie. Can you believe it's from the year 2000? Alex and I had gone to see it in the theatre when it was released ... my boss had given us two free tickets and Ariana would have seriously been freaked out at just four years old... and he remembers being scared by it up on the huge screen. All those teeth!! :scared:

Demetri was a little hesitant, he'd avoided watching it up till now thinking it was rather scary but he braved it out knowing it was Alex's choice. We just called the bad dinosaurs 'nasties' and each time they came on we'd say something along the lines of, "Oh what is that nasty guy up to now?" and he was totally fine with it. In fact, I think he'll be OK to go on the Dinosaur ride now!

Ariana was in on the action this time and loved helping take the Mickey head and section of links down.

She just adores movie nights!! I think she'll want to continue even after we come back. :rotfl:

yay for another movie night!!! I have never seen Dinosaur. I'm pretty sure we have the DVD around here somewhere but I've just never seen it! I'll loan you our POTC. We have 2 copies in DVD and 1 bluray I think haha

Awesome! We don't have a Bluray yet so the DVD version would be swell. :rotfl:

Looks like another great movie night!

We went with the new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for a movie tonight.

Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog! Which one?

It's was Mickey's Road Rally. It premiered on Disney Channel this evening. I thought it was cute, but Toodles talks during it... and has a face. WEIRD Dude!

:yay: for movie night.

Dinosaur's not that bad is it, after watching it it made me want to defo go back on the ride this year :teeth:

Sounds like another great movie night, I don't think I've seen that one.

The last picture of your 3 kids made me cry for whatever reason. You can just tell how great Alex is with his siblings. That picture is so sweet. :)

A weekly movie night isn't a bad idea to keep going :goodvibes (Jack thinks every night is movie night since Disney has been showing a different movie every night recently).

Ugh I felt so bad we missed that. George had written it on our calendar for Demetri but we forgot to DVR it. :guilty: Toodles has a face? That'll take some getting used to!

Me too! I think the jerkiness of the ride will still be a bit much for Demetri the first time but it won't be so scary now. :thumbsup2

Oh I know exactly what you mean about a particular picture bringing on tears... something just strikes a chord and we well up! :goodvibes

Hey Tracy!:goodvibes

Catching up again. Hopefully, with the boys being back in school, I'll do a better job of staying caught up.:thumbsup2

Yay for Bolt! It's such a cute movie! Oh and that ice cream looked really yummy! What a nice treat! Aww...I wish they sold it in my grocery store.

Love your Day 5 plans! I always want to schedule a resort day but it never works out....hopefully next trip! A teenage girl that doesn't like shopping? Is that even possible?:rotfl: I think your mini-golf idea sounds great!:thumbsup2 Good choice on the Winter Summerland course....how appropriate.;) It sounds like it would be so much fun...in fact that's where we were going in April before plans changed.:rolleyes1

Oooh...we haven't seen Dinosaur yet! Hmm...maybe if I can get the boys to watch I can finally talk them into riding Dinosaur with me next time. Thanks for the idea.:)

Woo hoo for a fun movie night! I'm glad Demetri was brave! Dinosaur freaked DD and DS7 out a longtime ago and they won't even a preview of it now! :lmao:

I can't even believe I know this and am willing to post it! But, Toodles got his face and voice for his birthday! Dr. VonDrake gave it to him ;) :lmao::rotfl2:

Looks like another fun movie night!! :thumbsup2 It seems like they keep coming right after one another! The time is flying by!

Zach is still afraid of Dinosaur on & off. Three trips ago he was scared, two trips ago he loved it, this year he had mixed feelings. I think Alex is finally over the hump - he didn't like it the year Zach did... this past trip he did. :confused3

I guess you never know!

No worries... I'm always catching up these days. Rolo ice cream is dangerous!! :rotfl:

She has an older sister and I think she gets all her cool clothes. I'm tempted to go mini golfing myself but the urge to shop in Disney is too strong for me!

Oooh...we haven't seen Dinosaur yet! Hmm...maybe if I can get the boys to watch I can finally talk them into riding Dinosaur with me next time. Thanks for the idea.:)

It didn't even occur to me until after Alex had chosen the movie that it would help Demetri with the ride. Hope it helps your boys too... let me know!

Alex was 5 when we saw it in the theatre and he said the scariest part for him was right at the beginning when the 'nasty' (I can't remember the actual Dinosaur name  ) burst threw the trees. If you get past that, the rest is not so bad.

The visuals in this movie were just incredible, the real nature scenes combined with the animation of the characters -- Alex and I remarked a few times how well done it is. Maybe too well done when all those teeth are bared!

I can't even believe I know this and am willing to post it! But, Toodles got his face and voice for his birthday! Dr. VonDrake gave it to him ;) :lmao::rotfl2:

:lmao: So was it a movie that they'll show again? Or the start of new episodes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with a talking Toodles? I hope we get to see it.

Ariana's birthday is coming up at the end of September, then it will be (Canadian) Thanksgiving, then Halloween.... woo hoo! It won't be long now!

When we went on Dinosaur for the first time I thought for sure Alex and Ariana would be freaked out completely, but nope, they loved it. :rotfl:

I haven't seen Dinosaur in the longest time either...I don't even know if our kids have...

your kids look like they were having fun taking down the next set of links :goodvibes our next countdown celebration is tomorrow night :woohoo:

 See what you've started?!

I think Dinosaur was a great movie choice... good work, Alex!

Hard to believe it's ten years old.

(Then again, it's hard to believe I'm __ years old, but that's another story completely!) ;)

We've had so much fun with this countdown. I really thought it'd be a challenge for Ariana resisting the temptation to pull it down and play with it, but she's had the most fun of all!

Can't wait to hear what your celebration is!!

Oh I know.... I was a mere babe myself when Alex was born! :rolleyes1

After the trip, I think I do want to continue the movie nights. Once a month seems too long apart but we'll see what we come up with. :thumbsup2

Part deux.....

DAY 5
RESORT / DOWNTOWN DISNEY
Thursday, December 2nd

Park Hours: n/a

Well, I was reading back over my Downtown Disney day and I realized there were a few things I’d left out. I hadn’t talked at all about the Christmas things that are going on and there were a few more stores I wanted to be sure to check out that weren’t part of the AP discount.

Festival of the Seasons – Many a time have I enjoyed window shopping without actually buying anything, and I’m really looking forward to checking out the holiday displays “celebrating traditions from different cultures”.

There will be “carolers, musical acts and holiday variety performers throughout the streets” and “strolling musicians and toy soldier stilt walkers”. Doesn’t that sound so very fun?!

:santa:Santa!!:santa: – At his chalet in front of the World of Disney store, you can take your own pictures with Santa or use Photopass.

DTD_Santa_chair-danderline.jpg

It’s only from 5pm to 10pm so by then if Alex, Kathryn and Demetri went mini golfing, they’ll have joined us. I’m not sure we’d have time before our 6pm ADR at Wolfgang Puck but we’ll see. If not, definately after.

Disney’s Days of Christmas – How did I possibly leave this shop out of my must see places? :confused3

2009_0820pics0131.jpg

Ornaments, hats, stockings, train sets…. Mmmm, I’m reading about a glass Mickey head ornament in “an array of colors and themes” that you can personalize. Must check that out!

Design-A-Tee – Alex had a laugh designing a t-shirt in here and was thisclose :crowded: to actually buying it.

2009_0820pics0133.jpg

Wonder what he’d come up with this time? :rotfl:

Once Upon A Toy – I’m almost positive much time will be spent here making many different kinds of Mr. Potato Heads!!!

And lastly, I want to make sure we get over to this spot for a truly awesome family photo!

Coming soon.... Day 6 plans!

I love all the festive holiday stuff at DTD! :thumbsup2 I'd love to visit during the holidays one of these years...
