DISNEY DREAMING! A Nov/Dec 2010 PTR *12/9 ~ Hello Again!

Is it the Artist's Stop store? Something like that - they were the ones with those giant blue cupcakes from my last TR. Speaking of TR... see if I can't work on it tonight, haha.

And have I given you my cell phone # yet? if you have US texting, we'll have to compare schedules to see if we can meet up at some point! I can PM it to you if you don't already have it. Now I won't just have to wave to you from the wing of my plane, haha!

Thanks SO much for the wonderful shout out!! I just love our necklaces...aren't they great?

Your MVMCP pictures have me SO excited. It looks truly magical! Also, I am looking forward to Osbornes. We are going on Fantasmic night also. I am worried about the crowds, but I think we may skip Fantasmic and try to ride Toy Story or something while everyone is watching it. :3dglasses

Oh, and I bookmarked that thread too - I'm sure I can get through a lot of it in 5 months, right?

10 more days!!!!

Wow Day 2 sounds like a lot of fun :goodvibes Seems there something to make everyone happy in there and I like that you each get your together time with each other :goodvibes

Boma is awesome and there really is something for everyone as I am with your DH on the non spicy approach. I was obsessed with the sliced cooked prime rib I want to say but not sure. Its the meat inbetween that sausage and eggy looking thing :teeth:

Oh and that Jungle Juice is ah-may-zing!!!

I believe that shop is called the Writer's Stop or Shop. Can't remember which, but I do know that it is home to the carrot cake cookie! :cloud9:

This sounds like a fabulous day. Great balance of group time and time where smaller groups can break off.

I'm so jealous you get to see the Osborne Lights! That is going to be great.

Love your to-do list at DHS!! Sounds like so much fun!!!! I keep meaning to pull that handle in the fuse box at TOT and just never get to it! Hopefully next trip!!!!!

:rotfl: I can't wait to see what it does. I have to delve more into my Hidden Magic book and see what other things I can find to do.

Is it? I tried Googling the Artist's Shop and nothing popped up. I'll keep looking though!

I don't have the US texting yet, but absolutely PM me your cell phone number and we will for sure arrange to meet up. So excited to meet you!!

Hi Katie.... the carriages are beautiful, I can't wait to reveal the surprise. :goodvibes I'm so glad you had them on your PTR! I'm really hoping we can swing seeing both the Osbornes and Fantasmic but we'll have to wait and see.

I'm trying to schedule in more of that -- occasionally branching off to do our own things and then coming back together. Now if only George and I could get a bit of time together too.....

Mmmmmm, prime rib is scrumptious. If it's to order well done, George will totally fill up on that! :cool1: yummy yummy yummy

Another "spectrum mom" joining in!! I'm about 10 pages in (thanks for the links) but have to run off to work for a little while. I'll finish catching up later! :goodvibes

Aha!! I Googled it and yes it is the Writer's Stop! :cool1: I didn't look at the goodies they had in there because I didn't want to be tempted before our Sci-Fi ressie but we'll have to pop back in there at some point for sure. They had some shopping items I want to look over too. :rolleyes1

Thanks!

Hi there and :welcome: to my PTR. I'm glad you're joining in! I'll hop over to yours too but I have to do it from home. My work blocks pictures.

Caught up again! Your park days and MVMCP plans sound great! I to can't wait for MVMCP!!! It's going to be soooo much fun!

Hello again!

I'm quickly losing track of who's going to be there when I am. :worried: I'm going to have to make a chart in my planning book and maybe a post in here I can keep updating. :thumbsup2

I think your Day 2 sounds amazing!! We are going to eat dinner at Starring Rolls as well! I have heard wonderful things about it. I might just skip the sandwiches and go right for the giant upcake

I agree---think we may skip Fantasmic b/c of Osborne lights. It is just too close time wise. We are also going to explore resorts like you. I think it is a GREAT idea. I always wanted to try Boma...can't wait for your review!

Your Day 2 plans look great!:thumbsup2 I still say the more times that we visit DHS, the more I love it!:lovestruc

I was going to tell you that I think the shop outside of Sci-Fi was the Writer's Stop. (I read it about somewhere....I think maybe it was in one of my travel guides...passporter maybe?) But, I see that you found it.;) It looks like a cute shop!

I love the idea of a special lunch with just you and Demetri! Aww...you're going to have so much fun!:goodvibes

We loved Fantasmic but just seeing the picture you posted of the Osborne Lights...Wow! They look amazing! I can definitely understand why they would take priority!

And...Boma?:yay::yay::yay: What a day! I can't wait to hear what you think! I really want to try it there...yum!!:thumbsup2

They sure look delicious! I'm a sucker for the chocolate & peanut butter combo. Mmmmmmmm. We have another DHS day but for now it's not scheduled for Fantasmic. But even if it was, I have other special plans for that day!

Thanks for the Writer's Stop info! We've talked to Alex about going halfsies on a new video camera and I would love to have footage of Demetri dancing with Handy Manny. How cute would that be?

Oh and video footage of Osborne Lights too! :yay:

Hi Tracy!

I'm slowly catching up, but just had to stop after reading this:

In the end, we:
* saved $1,400
* added another park day
* added another ADR, counter service meal and snack
* saved on the out of pocket meal we would have purchased on arrival day
* saved on the out of pocket Play 'n Dine meal

...and post a big Woo-Hoo!!! :woohoo: :yay:

(Okay, back to reading...)

Kathy

(BTW, did you get my PM??)

Hi Kathy! Yes, I was dancing for hours that day! :dance3:

Yes I got your PM :yay: and I just sent you one too!

Oh yes it was cooked quite well as I am not a rare kinda person, like my meat to be cooked and brown :)

Your day 2 looks awesome! I love how you and DH are each going to get one on one time with the kiddos (and I am sure Alex and Kathryn will appreciate that too ;)). I'd like togo back and relook at some of the details Imagineers have put in. I know Doug would get a kick out of them and I think Liam would be amused too. Because DHS has fewer attractions, I think it's a great park for details!

I cannot wait for Osborne Lights either! We are going on a nonFantasmic night and I am hoping we get there a bit later so the crowds are down a bit. I am dreading pushing a srtoller through based on some of the photos I have seen!

I like slowly strolling through DHS and just looking at everything around me. All the billboards and memorabilia -- so fun!

George loves pushing a stroller through crowds. Ninety-nine percent of the people will be just fine and you have no problem, but that odd person that likes to jump in front of a stroller and expect you to slam on the brakes? Nope, he just keeps going and doesn't mind if he clips the back of their heels. "You be a dope, I'm not going to stop!" he says.

Good evening my DIS friends. A bit of good news to start off this mini-update.

My co-worker called me yesterday morning and shared some details of her son's battle. He'd lost 30 pounds from the point in which his headaches started in May to when he had the surgery on Saturday. The surgeon was extremely confident all of the tumor was removed and she said to look at him now today, you wouldn't know what he'd just been through. He's already gained back seven pounds. It was a particularly aggressive tumor that had they waited until October, would likely have been inoperable. He'll undergo chemo and she finds out tomorrow what kind of schedule he'll be on. She's still a wreck right now but is so very relieved too.

Thank you again to all of you for your prayers. :grouphug:

Now..... on to trip items!

I'd briefly mentioned Ariana, Demetri and I went to the Disney Store this past weekend and I found this cute little shirt for Demetri to wear on our Handy Manny lunch.

2010_0810pics0007.jpg

He didn't see me buy it and I think I'll give it to him as a back to school shirt. I'm still keeping our lunch a surprise for him.

I found another shirt for Ariana.....

2010_0810pics0011.jpg

..... it has a really cool detail on it.

And I found three more vintage shirts for Alex.....

Then, I saw something for me that I just HAD to have. In a display, grinning madly at me......

2010_0810pics0002.jpg

The Cheshire Cat! I can't remember if I've gushed about wanting the Cheshire Cat here on my thread, or if it was just Stefy's. I have always been looking for him and when he came out in Pook a Looz, I had him in hand ready to buy. Then a CM mentioned he'd arrived the day before for the first time in their store as a stuffy. :ccat:

He was one half of a 'two-for' special so I let Ariana and Demetri choose between Lotso (he was really cute and his tummy smelled like strawberries!) or Wheezy. They picked.....

2010_0810pics0001.jpg

He is sooooo snuggly!

Demetri absolutely adores them both....

2010_0810pics0004.jpg

.... but the Cheshire Cat stays with me! :rotfl:

Lastly, I've decided to put together a countdown chain this weekend to get ready for our 100 day countdown! Actually it'll be 101 days out next Tuesday when we start and we'll have movie nights once a week on Tuesdays. We'll vote each week on which movie to watch. I have 19 lime green mickey heads from Home Depot that I'll space out on the chain for each movie night and we'll take off the segment each week. Thanks to Julie (mousescrapper) for the idea! I'll post pictures after we get it all together and up in our living room.

Good night!
