DISNEY DREAMING! A Nov/Dec 2010 PTR *12/9 ~ Hello Again!

Oh no! So sorry to hear they aren't going to do anything to help you. For a place all about customer service this is lacking to say the least!

I'm still holding out hope they come back to me with something. Like I said, I like my backup options but it's certainly been a pain!

I wonder if the reservation system being down is why they're so slow getting back to you? I would think calling the restaurant directly would mean no but I guess ya never know. Anyway, did we have a movie night last night!?!?

I wouldn't think the delay is system related but who knows - more bad timing. :(

We did have movie night! :cool1: :happytv:

It was Demetri's choice and I unfortunately had to invoke my veto right for his first choice. No offence to Homeward Bound II fans, but we had plenty of other movies to choose from before watching that one. :rotfl: Details coming up later tonight!

Well, I just got off the phone with Megan the very perky Boardwalk CM who'd been put in charge of fixing my irritation with the Kouzina closing.

When I'd last talked to her she'd let me know up front they wouldn't be able to offer dinner reservations at Flying Fish at one TS each instead of two -- I hadn't been the first to ask so she already knew the answer her managers had given for that request. Nothing was being offered to people outright for the inconvenience. Still boggles my mind really.

I'd left it with her to let me know if we could at least have reservations I'd made at Captain's Grille bumped up from 7:55pm to our original 6:50pm Kouzina time and today she called back to say that yes, her managers had told her that would be taken care of.

But I'm not sure.

As much as I'd love to try Captain's Grille and it fits back in with my original plan for the day time wise...... I'm kinda liking the Crystal Palace ressie I picked up as a backup. Ariana and Demetri LOVE CP and Alex laughingly told me Kathryn would totally march around the room in the parade with the characters..... It'd be a beautiful restaurant for her to see. :lovestruc

Going this route, we could get a late-ish counter service dinner at the Boardwalk and still go to Beaches for a No Way Jose.

The cons to this would be the weird time - it's at 3:20pm, and the inclination to stay at MK for the rest of the day instead of being 'forced' to go to the Boardwalk.

On the other hand......

Keeping the Captain's Grille ressie fits with how I'd originally planned the day. Although not the Kouzina experience we'd been hoping to have, it's a new place to try, it sounds great and I think George would prefer it. We'd also still go to Beaches for the late treat.

Which do you think I should go with:

Crystal Palace @ 3:20pm *or* Captain's Grille @ 6:50pm ??

wow that's a tough choice, as I am not a huge Pooh fan I think I would choose Captains Grille... especially when you add a No Way Jose on there, plus it lets you keep your origional plans

I have heard nothing but great things about both, but having never tried Captain's Grille I think you should go there LOL! Besides you have the NoWay Jose to look forward too.

We'll do the No Way Jose either way, but you're right, it's guaranteed if we do Captain's Grille. That's what I'm afraid of, that we just won't want to leave MK.

Captains Grille!!!..Even though I'm going to Crystal Palace next week, it's a new one for me!

Crystal Palace is a lot of fun and we love Pooh and the gang.... ugh, just when I think I'm convinced one way, I talk myself into the other way.

See? Convinced the other way now! :rotfl:

Just now getting up to speed with your Kouzina cancellation .... :snail:

I love CP but you're right: 3:20 is an oddball time. For that reason, I like the Captain's Grille / Beaches & Cream combo.

Anxiously awaiting to see what you decide!

Hi Kathy :goodvibes I talked to Alex tonight about the two options and he said he'd be happy either way but is leaning towards the Captain's Grille. I think I am too.

Well, you know which one I would choose... seeing as my mom and I already did choose to eat at Captain's Grille that night!:rotfl: I think you'll be glad you "forced" yourself to go to the Boardwalk area. Just think how pretty it's all going to be lit up at night and with the holiday decorations! Plus the No Way Jose on top of it all!

I know! I can't wait to see it :santa: I'll be trying for the panoramic shots with my camera for sure that night. Are you going to go to Beaches afterward?

I want to talk to George about it briefly before cancelling CP but I expect his answer will be along the lines of, "I don't care Honey, whatever you feel is best."
