Disney Dream May 1, 2011

We choose Palo for night 4, hubby decided to do Pirate night in main restaurant. He does not ask for too much in regards to vacations so I let him pick Palo. So looking forward to the entire trip!!! Had a rough past 1 1/2 years so we need it!!! :wizard:

We decided against Remy, not too into the French cuisine thing and for $150 ........maybe next time.

Good morning everybody!

Well, I decided against staying up until midnight and just took my chances this morning. I was able to get palo on night # 3 which was what we wanted. There was only one time slot available and luckily that was also what we wanted. I checked into Remy but all that was available was the first night and a little later. BUT - the $75 per person upcharge was the deciding factor for me. No way am I paying that kind of upcharge on any cruise. Especially not DCL which isn't inexpensive to begin with! I am relieved though, it helped make my decision much easier, because Palo is one of our absolute favorites and I would have missed my chocolate souffle!

Time to get back to the gym, with less than 90 days to go!!! :cool1:

What time will you be at Palo? Our reservation is for 7pm :)
My boyfriend is the one who really wants to try Remy....I would be perfectly happy with the standard restaraunts :) The only thing I'm waiting to find out is if Remy will accomodate vegetarians (me!)...if not, then I will be canceling our reservation.....don't tell my BF but I'm secretly hoping that they won't...as I want to try all 3 standard rests..

We got 6:30, which is perfect. Gives us the option to pick up the kids for the show or leave them in the club and par-tay!

I also booked this morning. Booked Palo for the 4th day and night for both brunch and dinner, which is what we wanted (we are celebrating DH's bday) :cool1: Sooooo excited! I started dieting today so I can put all the weight back on eating on the cruise :lmao:

Hello all. We just booked to leave on the Dream May 1st. I will be going with my mother, son 11 and daughter 8. My mother lives on the west coast of florida and kids and I live in Oaxaca, Mexico. Very excited to learn more, this is our first disney cruise. I am reading to learn what to expect and how to plan, and would love any tips. Meet you all in just over 3 months.

Hi Everyone,

We are finally down to the 3 month countdown. Yoohoo!!!! Hope everyone is as excited as I am!

KAA1972 & eogren - Welcome Welcome!! You guys will have alot of fun planning and searching the forums. There are several threads for newbies. Lots of info!

Byejou - We too are having another winter storm, I think the same one headed your way. They are becoming TOO frequent here in Texas. They are forecasting it to be our worst. I think I'll sit in front of the fire with the ocean sound machine and DREAM!!!

Glad to see several of you were able to get your ressies in for Palo & Remy. I have to wait 2 more weeks. Bummer!

gmlgml - NO MORE SNOW, Please. Between shoveling, getting to-from work and school delays and canceling I am done!!!!!!!

I keep telling myself just 89 more days til sail away and 86 til we fly away to Fla!!!!!!!!:cool1:

Anyone staying overnight before the cruise? I booked the Country Inn and Suites...I requested a room overlooking the port so that I could surprise the kids! CANT WAIT!:cool1:

So exciting to read everyone's posts of their plans! We have decided not to try for any of the optional meals. We don't want to miss any of the main dining options. I figure it will be wonderful no matter what!

Hey, my kids are close in age, boy 11, girl 8 and they also chose a cruise over Disney. Lucky, the will get a few days in Disney then the 4 day cruise.

Have any of you who have cruised previously done the Palo brunch? I booked it, thinking it would be a good option for the adults and not have to miss any dinners in the dining rooms. I have read some raving reviews, and seen some pics. Anyone else trying Palo brunch?

We are also going to be at the world prior. We fly down from Jersey on Friday and staying at the Beach Club for 2 nights with DDP. We are opting out off the parks this time. Just going to enjoy the resort and BW, also going DTD for lunch at Earl. Getting some R&R this trip. I hope to get back down to the parks within the next year but we'll see.

May end up sailing on Fantasy for a 7 night cruise next year. :wizard:

We did Palo brunch on our last Wonder cruise. I have to say I was pleased but it was way too much for for us. Our faves were the eggs benedict & chicken parm (which is no longer on the menu and was the best I have every had).:guilty:

The free Peach Bellini is wonderful. However with the buffet to begin then two main courses, yes two...breakfast then lunch, and then dessert, you will not need to eat again til the next day. Pack some Tums or Pepto.

Plus, there is no chocolate souffle at brunch......bummer:sad1:

But it is definitely worth a try. We were going to opt out of Palo dinner and just do brunch on the day at sea but after seeing the menu and pictures of the souffle we know where we needed to eat.

Happy choosing!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very Cute Idea!!!! We are just going to tell the kids in our group that we are going to spend the day at the beach since we live in orlando thats a very common thing for us to do. Then we are just going to drive to the boat and record them =)

One of the things I'm looking forward to is the District. I don't go out as much at home as I used to, and I'm looking forward to trying all the clubs. I'm traveling with my parents, who won't be interested in that part of the ship. Is there anyone else who will be hanging out in the District?
