Disney Dream - June 9, 2013 - 4 night

Still feeling a bit overwhelmed but not quite as much. Got our passport stuff mailed off a week or so ago while we were on vacation, booked our excursions for both Nassua and Castaway Cay and I think we got the second check-in time on boarding day. Still trying to wrap my head around this FE thing. So, do we make something for EVERYONE in the family or just the kids and is it something for EVERY day of the cruise or just a 1 day we choose to deliver type of deal? I don't know why I am so hung up on this FE deal and can't make myself commit! Probably because I really don't have time to "make" something so it scares me a bit!!

Also, we are staying at the Hyatt (I think it is) at the airport the night before the cruise but are looking into using left over Disney Reward Points to stay at a Disney hotel in or around Magic Kingdom. Was thinking we get back the 13th and that I'd like to just chill that day and then go to the park on the 14th and then go back and stay at the Hyatt that night before we leave on the 15th. But what would we do with our luggage if we have to check out of the hotel on the 14th before going to the park???? And if I already paid for DCL transfers to and from the airport can I change it to take us to the Disney hotel after the cruise? How do I get from the park back to the airport?

Here I go again stressing out....

It's totally up to you. You can give 1 gift per cabin for the whole cruise. That's the only expectation. Anything beyond that is up to you. A suggestion I have seen in past cruises - custom print bags, ( I like idea of can koozies), a Disney recipe book, a travel journal - spiral with a custom cover. If you would rather do gifts just for kids you can do that too. On our Alaska cruise we did little penguin key chains and had some Disney pencils and trinkets for the younger kids. Don't stress! It's just meant to be fun!

Betsy: We are going to Universal after. My son is a Harry Potter fanatic. I'm excited, too, must say, living vicariously. Would love to get together on cruise to see how you liked it.

Would love to share our thoughts inboard. I think someone else had asked if there were any plans to have a get together onboard, but I haven't heard anything yet. This our very first cruise and getting SO excited?

I think YearbookSharon suggested a get together or maybe DisneyLizzie suggested one for boarding day? We are open tithe idea. We are staying at Beach Club prior to cruise with plans to hit Star Wars weekend.

It wasn't me, but I'm not opposed. There's a small group who are going to Star Wars weekend before the cruise and we've talked about meeting up there.

As for the FE - don't stress. I have a lot of ideas and I can't seem to settle on one. I think my gifts will be a mixture of things. I bought some things early and now we have more than what I originally purchased supplies for so I'm going to get to do a little bit of everything.

Anyone interested in the chocolate tour in Nassau will need to call Disney unless it's been fixed on the site. I haven't checked in a day or two. I think it's $56 and you get a tour and then get to go "backstage" to make your own chocolate. The one review I found on trip adviser was positive, but they had just stumbled upon it. They weren't on a cruise. I know it's a limited excursion. We have three spots, but I don't think my husband is going to go. He says he can buy a lot of chocolate for $56. I think he's missing the point.

Yeah! It's on the website and all four if us are currently signed up for the chocolate tour! Lunch I guess we will have to figure out - or eat chocolate!

Ah Elf Princess Arwen. How pretty. The last thing I want to do is take Dylan on a chocolate tour. I'd never do that to even people paid to care for him! Hah. We are Kym, Doug, Becca (16), Dylan (6), and Ashlyn (2). I'll be checking back to compile names of those who want to share and will try to get that spreadsheet circulating when got most of what it needs to have.

SimplyNik:

Just google fish extender gifts. There are loads of ideas!! I am having so much fun. Not getting a darn bit of work done, but I think I have found my niche in the world!!! Ha ha.

Looking through the Dis Boards - where is the best place to understand about tips? Just being sure we budget enough for that! Also, is it possible to add a Disney Gift Card onto one's Cruise account in someway for an on-board credit? I'm thinking of buying some ahead of time as our Grocery Store in town is running a promotion for 20 cents off a gallon of gas for every $50 purchased.

Yes, you can apply gift cards to your account. I did that also with Rewards card and started off with a credit for shipboard account. I am pretty sure you can find tips in Disney site FAQ's on their suggested amounts.

Welcome to the chocolate club, RunnerMomO. I think I'm going to end up cancelling my husband, but I think I'm all in. Things will be there when we get back. If all else fails, get up, drown ourselves on the Aquaduck, eat a late breakfast, eat chocolate, eat more chocolate, have a late lunch.

Hi all!

I am showing thirteen families so far on my spreadsheet. 10 Boys, 14 girls. If you would like to post your names, I'll add that to the sheet.

Sharon: Don't cancel your husband. I hear Jail stinks and men can't help it!!! ha ha!

I knew as soon as I posted that it sounded like that, but I just left it alone. No jail before the cruise - I promise.

Fish Extender Frenzy!

Last night turned into a crafting frenzy between DH and myself. We were also working on Blue and Gold Banquet last minute items, so it worked perfectly. My dining room table is currently covered in 19 small FE piles. Not finished yet, but a good solid chunk out of the way! Now, if only we were cruising next week!

We finally told the kiddo last night about the cruise. After a few puzzled looks at the fake lottery ticket I made to tell her, she asked "Are we really going on a Disney cruise?" Once we said yes, the screaming began. It's nice to be able to talk about it openly now. My husband says we only have two months of listening to the "I can't wait until we board the cruise."

RunnerMomO, have been obsessed since I discovered this whole thing. I figured I might as well pound it all out while I was on a roll. Then maybe I can actually bill some hours on work between now and the cruise. Just waiting on some shipments to finish all my wares!! So very excited. My DH not really helping, but observing.

Okay, I think I can actually post an email now. If you'd like the spreadsheet, email me at kstuart@craincaton.com. If you do not want to post your names on forum but want to add names to the group for personalized items, let me know in email, and I'll add and revise to spreadsheet as we go. No new fams, RunnerMomO?

It was me who suggested we meet onboard. I have name tags left over from our last cruise that we can use. We are doing Star Wars on Friday and Saturday. We would love to meet up with those that are going. We have Mama Melrose's reservations at 1:30 on both Friday and Saturday. It's the coldest place in Hollywood studios to beat the heat with great food! I think the parade is at noon. Can't wait! I'm not a sci fi fan, but star Wars weekends are a blast!:chewy:

We would love to meet anyone at Star Wars Weekend. We do restaurant reviews, so we make our dining reservations as soon as we can. And, we make a lot of them!Feel free to join us...

Mama Melrose's 1:30pm
