Disney Dream - June 9, 2013 - 4 night

We are staying at the Poly after the cruise as well! So excited!:cool1:

I see that you have an 8 year old daughter as well! We plan on staying at the hotel and swimming in the pool on the 13th and doing O'Hana breakfast and MK on the 14th. We were able to change our O'Hana dinner reservations to 6:45 from 9:30 yesterday. So happy to get the earlier time. We're like you... ready to go! :car:

We will be hanging out at the pool on Thursday as well and plan to do the luau on Friday night. We should get our girls together because I know mine is not going to want to hang out with little brother at the pool all day.

My daughter says, "YAY!!!"

Hi all:

Have added our new members and am updating the spreadsheet. If you've emailed me you'll get a new one. If you've not emailed me and you want a spreadsheet email at kstuart@craincaton.com. Also, if you want to add your names and have not posted them, you can let me know.

Have you considered adding the water park at Disney? We decided to do the Disney water park because it was so much less expensive than the excursion to Atlantis. I agree that 8 year olds and water parks go hand in hand.

GASP! My DD would LOVE a Disney water park! And here I thought I had our pre-cruise plans decided... Unless I change my mind AGAIN, we're planning MK evening of 7th, AK for rope drop on 8th, then hotel for a while, then back to MK. We have done Disneyland in Ca a couple of times, but this will be DD's first trip to WDW.

Has there been any more discussion on meeting up beforehand/when we arrive? Sounds like a lot of fun, though as a first-timer I am a little hesitant about committing and then missing because we were busy with something else - or lost on the ship! lol pirate:

You will LOVE WDW! The water parks are blast . you have 2 to choose from. We prefer Blizzard Beach. My daughter can't get enough of it. we were thinking of going on the 6th. It's not a bad idea to add the water park options once you get there. We've never been rained out of the parks, but it could happen! pirate:
We would love to get together w/ anyone before the cruise, or on the cruise.

Hi all:

Just to clarify, RunnerMom0 is the organizer of our group. I just needed to do a spreadsheet for planning purposes, so thought I'd offer it to the group for whoever wanted a copy.

I have never done a FE group before and RM0 has been organizing this one for a while.

If you'd like the spreadsheet, am happy to send, but if you have updates for the group, please make sure you post them and that RM0 acknowledges. I'm updating the spreadsheet based upon what she posts or gets posted on the forum.

Thanks.

I have a new update to our cabin info. We don't have a cabin number, but we have to sadly add nut/ peanut allergies to our daughter's dairy allergy note on the list. She had an anaphylactic shock and her testing came out positive for not only dairy, but nuts and peanuts as well. :(
We found out today and it's been a sad day to say the least. Thanks to both you and RunnerMom0 for organizing and keeping the list!

Yikes. I'm sorry to hear about the additional allergy. I know that allergies add a whole other dimension to worries. None of my FE gifts will involve food for that very reason.

I'm editing this because when I went to the main forum's page I found this board. Hope it's helpful although I know you've cruised before.

Thanks Sharon. Two of those disboard members have actually been to our website looking for info. on cruising w/ food allergies. I wish they would have given us a shout out. Thanks for your kind words and taking the time to find that food allergy thread. Really thoughtful!

I was wondering if we were a closed group yet or if we will add more? I am making most of our FE gifts and wanted to make sure I have enough. Also do we give gifts everyday or just once. My DH has been searching the boards and told me we are assigned families and day?? First timer! :confused3 so want to make sure I have all the details! pirate:

When I did it last cruise, we just picked the day we wanted and passed them out. We had 50 families and split the group in half. Some just passed them out to their half of the group, and some passed them out to everyone. We chose to pass them out for 2 days. One at sea, and on the afternoon of pirate night (we wanted to pass out pirate loot and it was fun).pirate:

Even w/out assigned days, we received gifts every day except for the last day. Don't forget to pack your list with you when it is finalized! I ran into 3 families at the FE get together that had forgotten theirs. We made copies and sent them to their rooms.

It's so much fun!!!

Bottom line - only expectation is one gift per cabin for the cruise. Anything beyond is at your discretion. Some folks like to have gifts for kids separate from adults. Likely wont close until early May - about a month out.

RunnerMom, are you a runner? We had a silent 1 mile run here in Atlanta today and hundreds of runners showed up at several locations to show their support for both the victims and their sport. It was a beautiful gesture.

Yes I am, although slightly hobbled currently. We have local plans for a run Sunday morning to honor the Boston Marathon victims.

My only concern closing a few weeks out from the cruise is what if we have 20 more cabins sign up in the next week or two? I won't be able to keep up, much less finish my gifts, and move all at the same time.

If we exceed a certain number will we split the list up?
