Disney Dream - June 9, 2013 - 4 night

It was me who suggested we meet onboard. I have name tags left over from our last cruise that we can use. We are doing Star Wars on Friday and Saturday. We would love to meet up with those that are going. We have Mama Melrose's reservations at 1:30 on both Friday and Saturday. It's the coldest place in Hollywood studios to beat the heat with great food! I think the parade is at noon. Can't wait! I'm not a sci fi fan, but star Wars weekends are a blast!

Are you only going to HS? That is one park that we were going to skip this visit. We have not had good luck with my oldest there. Three times we have been there...three times we have left with her beside herself and throwing a fit within the first hour. The only thing I can think of is that it's too loud and over stimulating. It's crazy.

And on another note, I am praying that I don't misplace all this FE stuff. We bought a house and we move the first week of May!! I am super excited! I already have outfits that are pulled out from the girls dressers for our trip and I don't want to misplace those either.

HS could be over stimulating and loud for little ones. Also, there's not much for them except for the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground. My daughter,8, loves the Star Tours ride and rides it several times. We love the food there. The Hollywood Brown Derby has great atmosphere and delicious food, the Sci fi restaurant is fun eating in the cars and watching the old sci fi movie trailers, and the 50 Prime Time has wonderful adult drinks that we enjoy while cooling off, and finally... Mama Melrose's has the best minestrone soup and great thin crust pizzas. I'm making myself hungry!
We are going to Animal Kingdom on Thursday, HS on Fri. and Sat, and returning to do MK after the cruise. If you haven't been to the Be Our Guest Restaurant, it worth the time and money. Drop by there and see if you can get a table if you don't have a reservation. They are SUPER hard to get. You can do a quick service lunch there as well. We really enjoyed the experience and the food. For those who like champagne, you can get it here. And, try the "grey stuff" it's delicious!

We are at HS on Friday with lunch reservations at 50's prime time at 12:35 with HappyMama5. Had forgotten about the parade start time. Might have to see if I can do anything about that! Otherwise we planned to wing it on meals and we are at MK on Saturday.

HIf you haven't been to the Be Our Guest Restaurant, it worth the time and money. Drop by there and see if you can get a table if you don't have a reservation. They are SUPER hard to get. You can do a quick service lunch there as well. We really enjoyed the experience and the food. For those who like champagne, you can get it here. And, try the "grey stuff" it's delicious!

Two of our friends that went said it just wasn't worth it for dinner, too expensive, no character opportunities, but they did say the atmosphere was cool. So I'm tempted to cancel the dinner and get in line around 10:30 to eat lunch in there. I'm just torn.

The menu is a little unique, but we really enjoyed it the two times we ate there. I also loved the belgian beers, such a nice treat to enjoy in the Magic Kingdom. French onion,soup is quite tasty as well. My son enjoyed his steak too. And we celebrated our son's birthday there in december and they brought him the "gray stuff" - very tasty and fun!

Definitely loved sitting in the west wing where you could see the flower petals in the glass jar. And we saw the beast come visit twice in the restaurant where I believe he went back to the front where you could get pictures with him. I haven't been the are lunch, so I can't compare atmosphere. I know the menu is not as fancy and no alcohol is served at lunch.

The character opportunity is to meet the beast in his library and have your picture taken w/ him. You can visit the West wing and see the rose petal falling, etc. The food was fantastic. I guess it all depends on your budget and how you want to spend your hard earned money. It is expensive. My husband and I split an entree ( filet with an herb butter sauce) , the onion soup ( really good), and we each ordered our own salad. We had a bottle of champagne, and our daughter had grilled chix breast, salad, and sides. The total was around $130.00. Our daughter, 8, said that that was the one thing she wanted to do in the MK, and she's not a huge Belle fan.

My suggestion, is to google Be Our Guest menu. You will probably end up at allears.net. We don't have the menu on our site yet, it's still in the pile to be added on my desk! Anyway, look at the menu and see the cost of the menu options and go from there. I think this will help you make your decision. I can't tell you how much we loved it! Oh, you can always eat a light dinner of soup and salad (light on the wallet too) and snack later if you get hungry. you know that that's not a problem at Disney. Hope this helps.

I bought a few trial pieces today for my FE gifts. Someday soon I'll graduate to making full products and not just "testing" but I'm having fun now. I even survived the Container Store and didn't leave broke. It's a Disney miracle.

We will have to figure out a way to notify others if you move. I think we could do that at a meet up when we board. I also like putting a cheap magnetic note board on my door for messages.
