Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

Got our room assignment, we are in room 2552. My wife is prone to motion sickness so she likes the mid ship location, I think being towards the bottom of the ship will help to but for some reason I am bummed about the location. We are stair folks more than elevator folks and I feel like we will be a long ways from the action. I guess at the end of the day I am on the ship and that's what counts but I feel like it is a bum location.

I wouldn't be too bummed I don't think deck 2 is a bad location at all. If you think about it, the restaurants are on decks 2 and 3, the theaters are on decks 3 and 4, shopping is on deck 3, the nightclubs are on deck 4, and you'll be getting off the ship nearly everyday on deck 1. You're close to a lot of the action. One of the things that really impressed me with the Dream is how quick the elevators are (without feeling quick). So you'll be up to higher decks in no time. You'll be on the Dream, so it's all good.

Quick update on my FIL'S road to his passport. Spent two long days trying to get requested infomation only to find out that we will have to pay for the 1940 census as it isn't out free till 2012. In desperation we called the passport department and finally was told they couldn't understand why it wasn't approved unless not all the documents had been sent in by the local postoffice. So we made copies of everything requested and wrote a letter explaining the circumstances and sent it certificated. So now I will just hold my breath until we hear. By the way the cruise line said they might not be able to accept the delayed birth certificate even though it did have a raised seal. Thanks for all the helpful words and prayers.

AHHH...now we are having problems getting my MIL's passport...same issue, the birth certificate is a delayed one so we are having to go the census route...hopefully that works....cutting it way to close in my opinion, but my wife and MIL said they are taking care of it

Found out today they received the information we sent. His discharge papers, copies of family bible, and letter explaining everything. We shall see if we get a passport or not. The cruise wasn't real helpful about if they will accept the delayed passport or not. Still holding my breath it all works. I will keep hoping for you also.

Scouter - Snow?? We're gonna be pushing 90 here today

Was finally able to get some work done of my FE gifts last night. Also picked up some Bonine and a few other odds and ends for the cruise. Nagged my husband again about going shopping for dinner attire or he'd be wearing his work slack and long sleeve shirts to dinner Tried to find a black skirt I have that would be perfect for dinner.. can't find it so I guess I need to go shopping too.. Oh darn Overall I'm finally feeling like I'm not lightyears behind where I need to be in getting ready for this cruise.

On a really good upside got a belated birthday card from my Dad & wonderful stepmom yesterday (we're always getting cards out to each other later, LOL) and they got me a Disney giftcard for the cruise When I called to let my stepmom know I got the card and thank them she told me that she thought I could use it for something at the spa or maybe an excusion. On a really good upside got a belated birthday card from my Dad & wonderful stepmom yesterday (we're always getting cards out to each other later, LOL) and they got me a Disney giftcard for the cruise When I called to let my stepmom know I got the card and thank them she told me that she thought I could use it for something at the spa or maybe an excusion. I absolutely love my stepmom

Bought my sunscreen today - all 18 bottles (16 spray and 2 bottles of face lotion). The checker at Wal-Mart said it was the most he had ever seen someone buy. We are a very pale family of 4 that burns extremely easily. We typically go through a bottle a day at WDW and we will be be gone for over 2 weeks between WDW and the cruise. I just hope it lasts the whole time. Vacation is really getting close when I buy all the sunscreen from the store.
