Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

Hope everyone has a nice Easter weekend.
It will be a busy weekend for us: baby shower, gymnastics, laundry, clean the house, fix the front door, shopping, Easter.

We got our cabin assignment today: cat 5c 7580

You will be right next to us! We are cabin 7582. Now we have DIS'ers in both of the cabins next to us:thumbsup2

Tomorrow is the band spring concert so we will busy with that for most of the day. Then we will eat with my parents for Easter brunch on Sunday.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and a happy Easter!
Is it June yet?!!!!:beach::beach:

We have three rooms still in GTY state. I keep checking but nothing yet. When I talked to the cruise line on Thursday I was told still not yet. Hoping lisateacher is right but thinking three rooms to get upgrades and keep close together is a long shot.
Praying the rain holds off today having DFIL'S 81 birthday party at our house today and would much appreciate being able to have it outside.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and a Happy Easter.

We have 2 rooms that we booked GTY and one has been assigned. It is very odd.....I figured our rooms would be assigned at the same time and would be close to each other. I spoke to Disney and the rep told me not to write the first assigned room number on anything yet as things change all the time. Funny thing is, both of our rooms are inside cabins and DH does not want an upgrade! He wants the porthole. I, on the other hand, will take any upgrade they want to give us! :woohoo:

Bought my sunscreen today - all 18 bottles (16 spray and 2 bottles of face lotion). The checker at Wal-Mart said it was the most he had ever seen someone buy. We are a very pale family of 4 that burns extremely easily. We typically go through a bottle a day at WDW and we will be be gone for over 2 weeks between WDW and the cruise. I just hope it lasts the whole time. :rotfl: Vacation is really getting close when I buy all the sunscreen from the store. ;)

Wow!

:yay: It is nice to know who one of our neighbors will be ahead of time.

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their long weekend. Been busy at work and mowing the lawn in-between rainstorms. In southern Ohio everything is nearing flood stage.

The kids have started their countdown on the weekly planning wipe board and are really starting to talk about the cruise.

I had my first cruise planning panic attack when I heard about those poor folks that missed the dream last week when there flights were cancelled due to all the bad weather. They were doing the right thing and flying in the night before which was cancelled after many delays and then they were unable to get in the next morning before the ship left.:scared1: They did not have travel insurance so they are out all that $$$. Seeing everyone question what type of policy would have covered this situation made me wonder about mine. I purchased the travel insurance from an online company so long ago I forgot about it. But a call to the company put my mind at ease. One thing she said thet I would not have done is call the 1800# the minute your flight is delayed and make them aware of the situation. Sometimes they have better chance to get you one another flight than some of the airlines.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hey everyone. Idid the online check in thing this afternoon and the earliest arrival time was 12:30-1:00. So, I'm wondering if I show up early, will they still assign us an earlier boarding time. We have a toddler who, like most others, is pretty impatient. We were definitely hoping to get on in time for her to have lunch, which would be noon. But, we'll see.

I wanted to know where should I buy trip cancellation insurance and medical insurance. I specifically want to us to be covered for medi-vac. I saw someone get taken away in a Helicopter on our last crusie on the Magic. I'm sure that would be highly expensive...so insurance would put us at ease. Any suggestions on that?

Ready for our vacation.

Steven

We also have a dry erase board that counts down the days to our cruise :thumbsup2 The kids started it at around 75 days, but it got off track somewhere as they were getting excited and taking too many days away :rolleyes1 so I said "you guys are going to be sad when it says zero days and we have about 15 left" :rotfl::lmao:

I also got panicky about the family that missed the cruise. We are flying in Friday night late to MCO and driving to the port on Saturday and staying at the Radisson.. Trying to keep the commute as stress free as possible. :)

I have always used TravelGuard. They're not expensive at all. Their insurance for me & DD for this cruise is $51 total (for the basic plan).

I have been reading a lot of posts about arrival times since they started this new "online check-in" system, and what I've gathered so far is that the system isn't really "live" yet. People that get to the port early seem to be able to get low boarding numbers, as usual.:thumbsup2

Although we are driving to the Port, I'm still planning it so that we arrive on Saturday, probably before noon. Don't want to take any chances.

Happy Easter!

I think we are going to go out to brunch today - I think I will just pretend it is Palo and that for some reason the kids are allowed. ;)

I hope everyone has a wonderful day! 40 days to go for us.... :thumbsup2
