Disney Dream Inaugural Cruise 1/26/2011!

Ahhh....I was online as soon as possible the day for the B2B and could not get Palo or Remy.....people must have cancelled by the times the Golds were able to book...

MJ

I was logged on at midnight on the dot, but no Remy reservations available for the Gold booking window. No Palo brunch either (which I really didn't expect). After that, I had Palo dinner reserved and done by 12:03.

At least we'll FINALLY be Platinum after this cruise. Only had to wait for what will be a grand total of 83 nights :( One more time of getting to the port super early and rushing onboard to try and get one of those remaining Remy reservations. Hopefully this should be the last time we have to arrange our travel around that.

Just realized I forgot to say hello on this thread before now!

We're excited to join everyone on the maiden voyage!

Me - Jen (NejTheLion)
DF - Barry
DM - Debbi

We're in room #10612.

Ken - if you need any more info for the lanyards, let me know. And thanks again for organizing those - I wear my westbound Panama Canal lanyard from 2005 every day at work :)

:cheer2::laundy::lmao:
8504 looks great - I would definitely love a glimpse!!! :goodvibes We're 9A too and very excited to be right at the front... We're also booked on the B2B BUT I'm not 100% confident my grown up daughter can take that much leave... I shall, of course, be exerting as much parental pressure as possible...

Come and have a look - we're in #8002 for both legs of the B2B... :thumbsup2

I think I forgotten to mention that we will mention we would love to sit with anyone from this group. We have late seating, but no letter yet.

I do have question. We would like to explore Atlantis and the area on our own, but we will both need to be driving mobility scooters. I had not planned on it, but since I shattered my leg and knee 10 days ago, I may not be ready to do a lot of walking. At this point,my leg is immobilized from ankle to hip and I am not allowed any weight bearing on that leg for 6 to 8 weeks. I am doing what ever I am asked and need to so I can be at least walking by the end of December. I so want to go on this trip.

Hi Jen

I've added you, Barry and Debbi to the list. I still use my 2005 PC lanyard when at the parks.

Ken

> January is cold for us - and can be rough off the coast.

How cold? We dove Andros the Thanksgiving before last and it was in the low 70s.

Warm and cold is relative. We just did two dives in Monterey, which has been warm at 59. (Divers from Oregon and Washington would be thrilled to get anything that warm.) Our previous dives were in Indonesia, where the "cold" night dives were 85.

I'm not saying things won't still be a little crazy or disorganized, because there is a good chance of that...but Disney does things better in general so I'm guessing they'll do this well too.

The Magic's maiden voyage was fairly chaotic but the Wonder's was much better. (In fact, they even rescheduled the maiden voyage a couple of times.)

It's been a while since Disney started a new ship, so here's hoping that Disney remembered what they learned.

Good Morning Cruisers!

We did get our letter, can't remember what it said, will have to go back and look at it.:rotfl:

:rotfl2: I called DCL too. We got our letter 6:00 dinner and 9:00 show. I explained that I had Palo reservations for my birthday at 8:30 and would like to see an earlier show just for that night...

You guessed it... if I want to change my show time to 5:00 for the WHOLE cruise I can. Otherwise I must sit at my show. Then she asked me why I didn't try to change my Palo reservation. :rotfl2: I told her... you can't be serious... but she was! :rotfl2:

I asked to speak to a manager just to discuss things and express my disappointment that we weren't provided the guidelines prior to the opening of the booking window. It's not as though they didn't know the ship was going to set sail on January 26th. Oh... another alternative... I can go to guest services when I board the ship (along with all 4,000 other guests) and make a request, but there will be no guarantee it will be honored.

I would not want to be the CM working at the shows telling folks who arrive late for their scheduled show that their seats were given away to stand by cruisers! :rotfl2::surfweb:

Whatever happened to the carefree days of DCL cruising...

But wait!!! You have Palo:thumbsup2

I'll give you my card and you can swipe it provided I get your Palo resessie...:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I has ranged from 68-72.....and since we normally dive in the 80s that is chilly,.....but I am not from Oregon or Washington.
