Disney Dream August 7, 2011

....perhaps this is a good time to post something relevant? In addition to shooting some cool photos this week, I also bought a new camera to take with me on the cruise :)

Is it wrong that I will be bringing 3 cameras... and a video camera...? :rolleyes1

(one of the cameras is for the girls to share; although J will probably use the video camera she coincidentally got for Christmas)

We bring an underwater camera, my camera, each girl has a camera, I take pix with my phone and if I had a video camera I would bring it too!

The nice part about not having kids yet is that it's Christmas whenever I want it to be...the new camera might be a Canon S95 (one of their highest-end point-and-shoots). The brother wouldn't let me buy anything less - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

simba - do you specifically have an underwater camera, or just buy a disposable? I should really do that this summer. I caught Barry the Barracuda while snorkeling at Serenity Bay last cruise and DH still doesn't believe me! (I didn't exactly want to start flailing about in the water telling him to take a look...)

I have a dslr and a small camera (for which I will be getting underwater casing). And I just got a little waterproof video camera so I could take videos of the kittens. :)

I'm not even counting my phone- which I'll probably be using at the parks to post some live tweets for the family back home.

I sorta love taking pictures... although I could take eleventy billion and still come home wishing I'd thought to take a picture of something that I didn't. :lmao:

What and how much alcohol is everyone bringing onboard?

I am thinking about 4-5 bottles of wine and maybe some beer.

I have the Canon s90 as my small non-dslr camera- love it! (I think it's similar to the s95)

I am quite good about treating myself to "Happy whatever day" presents :)

We're still working on this, as we will have means of going shopping pre-cruise this time. We are admitted beer snobs (Philly has an awesome craft beer scene), so I'm trying to figure out how to get some of my favorite local stuff in Florida. If we can't do that, We'll likely bring one bottle of wine per night and a bottle of hard liquor - probably some rum - for making mixed drinks with the stuff at the beverage station :X (Cap'n and Cokes at the Quiet Cove? Yes? Anyone?)

I love taking pix, too!! I am a huge scrapbooker.

YES - the S95 came out late last year as an update to the S90. I need to start working on learning how to take great pics with it in manual mode...

We should have a progressive happy hour like they do progressive dinners. We all make a mixed drink in our staterooms and share.LOL:rotfl:

I just did a scrapbook for the first time for our last trip- so much fun! (although so time consuming) But I always put up photos and travel blogs on my website- friends and family seem to enjoy them.

I'm not planning to bring any alcohol aboard; I'm not really a big drinker. If the spirit moves me, I'll just buy stuff. ;)

I usually take pictures in Aperture or Shutter Priority; although usually I have it on P because there's often not enough time for me to get shots just right. (OK, I'm just totally not patient...) I've started playing around with Manual sometimes though. Just wish I had more time to really practice photography- I understand all the theory but it's hard to remember to take time to think when I'm in "travel excitement" mode. ;)

I have a feeling I'd have trouble getting from stateroom to stateroom by the end of this... :X

And Belle..we went on our HM with that philosophy and then our jaws hit the floor at the end of the cruise. Apparently we drink more than we think on vacation!

I have an underwater camera that I bought at Walmart for 89.00. It takes better pix than disposables.

We bring alcohol and we still spend about 50 a day. Whew we sound like we have a prob.

Tell me about it! I think the "prob" is that it's pretty easy to start drinking at five and not stop until well int the evening...and the drinks are so spread out you don't get the signal that it's time to stop! ;)

5? Try noon or even sooner!:rotfl: On the MR my sister, DH and BIL started late am...now that is a prob. The drinks add up after awhile, plus we always give an extra tip even though 15% is already added.
